Made no mention of the 2 birthdays at the table Even though I put it down as a special request .the Seabass was absolutely intolerable the fish was old in the sauce was horrible.Ask for two more paper menus and was told that because of the Covid they were rationing the paper menus that they copied hundreds and hundreds of really? Its paper! Won’t be back. Steaks were good . Way over priced restaurant.
The best the steaks have been. Temperature was perfect and the cuts were of good size. Thanks for a wonderful anniversary dinner.
Appetizers were both horrible. Scallop appetizer is almost $30, scallops were miniature and completely tough, dry and overcooked. The grilled octopus was rubbery and complete charred to the point it tasted sour and acid. Waiter offered to replace them but advised it could take 30-45 minutes to get them served again so we declined. Steaks were ok, nothing spectacular but ok. However, it took almost 40 minutes after they removed the appetizers for the steaks to arrive. Server was very courteous and professional but overall the kitchen service is horrible. Deserts however were very good. Espresso was horrible though.
We were ignored for approx10 minutes after we were sat at a table. It wasn’t busy but the staff seemed very disorganized. Service was mediocre and felt as though we were at a typical Outback Steakhouse not a higher end restaurant.
Have been going to Council Oak for years after it reopened the food was great went twice since reopening after covid both times ordered $75.00 Ribye both times ribeye was all fat no meat sides were also horrible I never write reviews but felt I had to write this one.
If you're looking for a superb evening of Dlicious eating you must make Council Oak the place to go. PERIOD!!
This is one of the best restaurants you can eat at. If you go and do not order the bacon appetizer it's your loss. This is an in-house product that they make and it is an absolutely incredible.
Everything was perfect!!
Everything outside of the filet was awesome. I was looking forward to the teak though
Food was excellent and service was great! Their attention to ensuring social distancing and detailed cleaning made us feel comfortable.
Great restaurant! Food and service where Five stars.. highly recommend the porterhouse and the duck fat hash browns are an absolute must!
Great food and ambiance.
I used to go to the old Council Oak when it was located in the other side of the casino so wanted to give the new location a swing. Always had such a great experience so my expectations were high.
The service was great and the waiter was super friendly. The food, however, wasn’t anything too special. Nothing so amazing where I would come back again. The steak was a bit overcooked and the calamari was extremely salty.
For the price of everything, I was expecting to be a bit more over the top. The old locations food was excellent but this new location was so/so.
Ambiance and decor is stunning though!
I came for my birthday. It was very busy, our server was great considering. We waited over an hour to get our food, expecting good quality food, I order my steak medium, when it arrived it was burnt, charred on the top, no pink inside, I did complain. A new steak was given, it appeared to be a little better, still no pink, but at this point it was after 11pm. I wanted to eat. The bottom was still charred. Not worth the price at all, I left half the steak there. Really disappointed. No fault of the waiter, he was great, the cook was terrible.
Went on a double date, two married couples. My husband and I were visiting friends who recommended this restaurant due to Covid we all thought it would be nice to have dinner, few drinks, and hit the Casino. The ambiance and service was amazing. However the food was just ok. I ordered a Caesar Salad, Garlic Mash Potatoes and a Steak. The Caesar Salad wasn’t anything to spectacular. The steak was so salty I had to send it back. The waiter offered a appetizer while I waited for them to re-do my steak. I declined the appetizer and settled for a drink. When the waiter brought out my new steak he also brought out fresh mash potatoes which I thought was a great gesture. Only to find out my new steak wasn’t salty but now fatty. I decided not to complain since the service was great I decided to pay the expensive tab and leave.
My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary and we had a great time. The ambiance was nice, and the service was impeccable. Our waitress was very helpful, on point and gave us just the right amount of attention we needed without feeling like she was doing the most or the very least. At the end of our meal they brought out a nice complimentary dessert treat for our anniversary. Exceptional service and good social distancing measure were put in place, and sanitization throughout the restaurant.
I have never had a bad meal here!
Repeat guest. Overpriced based on food quality and ambience. Limited menu perhaps related to COVID-19. Oysters good. Feels like a Cracker Barrel setting and hardly romantic. My filet was a marginal cut of beef and chewy. I did not complain or alert the server. Hostess service was appalling as we were instructed to stand again a wall for 10 mins while they looked for a table. Open Table reservation had no value. Seemed very disorganized and we felt like we were in line at a amusement park. Impressive no but convenient yes. Think Outback Steakhouse at double the price for everything. Cocktails and alcohol ridiculously overpriced for the mood as is throughout Hard Rock. Staff turnover obviously a challenge as many staff, especially the hostess staff, seemed inexperienced with fine dining and some struggled with English. I don’t know if I would come back after multiple visits.
Excellent food & superb service. The filet & the salmon were delicious as well as the creamed corn & potatoes. The lobster bisque was awesome too!!
The entire staff where very professional and polite. My wife's birthday celebration went off w/o a hitch!
Was seated right away and approached immediately. Our waiter was very accommodating. Hated the idea that such an expensive steak was sliced plus the filet was a bit salty. After the apology the manager comp the desserts and waited for us to get up to apologize again and thank us for coming . Showed a lot of style for a young manager. CO was the only high end restaurant opened which was a shame would have tried the others also
Fantastic service, Terrific Food, very good quality, simple and nice presentation. The Chardonnay was perfect to pair my Rockefeller Oysters and my sea Bass.
Anthony was an amazing server.
The food wasn’t what I expected it to be, however the plateware were beautiful and the wine selection was impeccable.
We had the bone in ribeye. It just tasted charred not very flavorful.
Service was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. Food was tasty but not as great as it used to be. Drinks were delicious. View of water was a nice touch.
The service was great and all the food from appetizers to desert was excellent. They are following all social distancing and after every table is cleaned, they spray down and clean the seats and everything around the table.
The manager Scott, came by my table several times to check on us and all the staff was great. Cant wait to go back again.
Somethings are hard to improve on. The Council Oak Experience is one such thing. Chef Alex Becker has set a standard of excellence in all the Hard Rock Hollywood fine dining venues, that is going to be impossible to surpass.
Porterhouse steak was over cooked, very tough and dry. Don’t like to complain but brought it to managements attention since we have never really had a bad meal. She offered dessert for the badly served steak.
Council Oak never disappoints, exceptional food and service.
Stay cation at hard rock
Steak was full of grizzle. Baked potato was reheated. Very disappointed.
Waiter-Alexander was Awesome!!!
It was great. But I would say the menu at the Tampa location was better. Especially the calamari
Great food and service.
Nice ambiance. Great food. Excellent service.
First time at Council Oak and it won’t be my last! Made my reservation for the wrong date, called the restaurant and they were able to assist. My husband and I ordered filets and they were the best steaks we ever had! We shared 2 sides and had a creme brûlée. Thank you for making our date night perfect!
Went last night to celebrate a birthday and everything was fantastic! The management and staff are doing a great job. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and the sides were delicious. They made my friend’s birthday by bringing out a birthday dessert. I definitely recommend this restaurant!
This was my first time back at council oak since they closed down due to COVID-19 and I’m so glad I went! The restaurant is beautiful and has the best view of the Guitar hotel! We started with the raw bar for two and got the filet and the dry age New York strip with a couple sides for dinner. The steaks were so juicy and flavorful, everything was excellent! I can’t wait to go back again.
Personally, I like the former ambiance and decor better. It was more romantic, low key and elegant. This new one is more Vegas style, too wide open, but the quality was still the same.
Came for my birthday and it was delicious. Been hearing about it for years and finally made the trip.
It didn’t disappoint!
