Council Oak Steaks & Seafood – Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa
Superb in every way. This is dining as fine as it can get. The hotel, and casino are beautiful and this restaurant matches the package. From the cocktails, to appetizers, bread and entrees everything was spectacular as it should be since the prices are very high but expected in a restaurant of this quality. We will definitely return.
Food was very good but too salty. It's a lovely steakhouse and unfortunate the amount of smoke that surrounds the restaurant from the casino.
Nice atmosphere, ambiance. Almost overly attentive staff, really great steak. We quite enjoyed it. Better than most hotel/ casino steak joints I’ve encountered. Overall a great experience.
It would be great that the money spent at the restaurant would count as points as the casino (Vegas style).
Excellent service, very attentive staff and food came out as expected. Very relaxing meal.
Steak was cooked to perfection; baked potatoes were plump and delicious!
We have always had great experience and food until Wed. Night. Seating next to loud table of 10 people, waited FOREVER for steaks then they were I ver cooked, tasted and looked and cutvlike a seeluin- not the $60 Filet we ordered. Then the baked potato was not hot. The staff was apologetic and very solicitise but we will not come back.
Always a great experience and great food
Mark makes best smoked old fashioned!! Thank you!
Amazing experience at Council Oak. Best steak I’ve ever had. Outstanding service. Everything was delicious. It was pricey but worth it.
Pleasantly surprised by the high quality food and waitstaff service. As local residents, we have wanted to try this spot for several years. An aversion to cigarette smoke and being non-gamblers, we stayed away. Previous visits to the Hard Rock restaurants had been disappointing. However, with the opening of the new hotel tower, we decided to visit the relaunch and give Council Oak a try. The food was excellent and expertly prepared. The filet was certainly the best of all the Tampa high end steakhouses. The iceberg salad had a unique presentation and was delicious. It also came with a tiny vodka martini, complete with a blue cheese stuffed olive! And carrot cake for dessert was decadent. Our server, Nick, was professional and knowledgeable. He got every detail right. His assistant, another Nick, was very friendly and courteous. The big disappointment was prior to dinner on arrival to the restaurant. Having read reviews, I requested in my OpenTable online reservation a table away from the Casino to avoid noise and cigarette smoke. Upon arrival, I reminded the hostess of the request. We were promptly seated at a table next to the casino. We were early for our already early dinner reservation and only a handful of tables were occupied. When I requested to move to one of the many other vacant tables away from the casino, the hostess bluntly informed us that every table was reserved by other patrons throughout the evening. I kindly informed her that weeks ago we had specifically requested in writing a table away from the casino. She read through the notes attached to our reservation and only then agreed to reseat us. I sat down and expected the entire evening to be a similar poor experience. However, the Nicks and the entire top notch restaurant staff are not reflective of the poor front-of-the-house attitude and service.
Our server, Carson, the best!
Casual pace of food serving.
My husband loved his choice of chicken dinner.
My steak was excellent.
Only disappointment was the key lime pie.
It didn’t taste fresh.
Otherwise we will be back.
Extremely overpriced. And not very good. Little value.
Food, Drinks and experience are always 5 Star.
The restaurant is not separated by solid walls from the casino floor, so the restaurant smells like cigarette smoke, which really affects the ambiance. The dress code is business casual, but people walked in wearing tee shirts and cut off shorts. These are two things that would need to be fixed before we go back and spend $400 on a meal. The service was excellent and the steaks were perfect, but I can go to another steakhouse for great steaks and service without cigarette smoke and white trash.
We had reservations and were seated right on time. Promptly we were served water and the most wonderful bread and rolls. We split the chopped salad as usual to save room for the entrees. Our food came out in no time. We both had filets which were cooked to perfection. The sides were plentiful and we wound up taking part of our dinner home. So sad we didn’t have room for one of their wonderful desserts!
Excellent food, attention, and clean. Loved the pillow talk drink!!!
Love the atmosphere. Steaks are phenomenal.
We always enjoy eating at Councils. Theirs nothing not to like.
We have eaten here 4 times and have been impressed each time. This visit, we tried the octopus and it was spectacular!
Service is great. The restaurant can be noisy, but the noise level doesn't detract from the experience.
Everything was amazing. Service was great. We will be back many more times.
Service was excellent!!! Jovana J. was the best server we had had in a VERY long time. She was excellent and made my wife's birthday special.
It was smoky in the restaurant
It was almost a perfect night. The only issue was the hostess couldn’t find our reservation and said there was nothing she could do because they were booked. I asked her to look again because I received confirmation of the reservation but didn’t have it with me. I mentioned it was my husband birthday and it was a special occasion. Still she said sorry we don’t have any room for you. So we left and within a few minutes she came running after us and said she made a mistake and found our reservation. She said the reservation screen was on the wrong date. So the good news was we had a great dinner but it was just a shame that we had the stress of being turned away at the hostess desk.
The wait staff is very attentive. The food is well prepared. Very satisfied.
This is the second time I have dined at Council Oak and the food was just as amazing the second time! The server was very polite and gave us a free glass of champagne since it was my girlfriend and I's anniversary. The only negative was we waited over an hour to receive our food.
Terrific meal and top-notch service. First time there and definitely will go back. Parking and navigation of all the construction a challenge, but I suppose to be expected as the campus grows.
The menu, staff and ambiance is superior to Broward. The last time I was at Broward the bar staff were belligerent as they knew they were one of the only restaurants open. There was a female bar tender at Broward that was so rude. We almost didn’t go to this one in Tampa because of that and we would have missed out on a real gem!!!! The service was fantastic and the change up of items on their menu were awesome! Sitting and watching the kitchen crew was an awesome addition !!!!
We always have great service from Danny or Lucy!
Great steaks and seafood!
The atmosphere was amazing, food was delicious, and our server, I believe her name was Chelsea, was great! I had noted that we were celebrating our anniversary on OpenTable and our server brought over champagne and chocolates at the end of the meal. It was a nice touch. We will definitely be back!
I took my husband here for his birthday on Saturday, August 3rd. Our first impression wasn’t that great. We had a 9:00 pm reservation. We arrived at 8:53 and wasn’t seated until 9:24. But quickly that initial impression was changed. After having the seating debacle, This is by far the most superior service I’ve had at any restaurant in the Tampa Bay Area thus far. They really pay attention to detail here and make u feel great about every penny you spend with them. I ordered the lamb chops which came as a small order of two chops. My husband ordered the long boy cowboy steak. They etched his name in the bone of steak as a memento. THE CUTEST THING EVER!!!! For sides we ordered the Brussels and macaroni and cheese. Our server was Gabriela who was literally the most accommodating and pleasant server I’ve encountered. Our drinks were excellent as well. My husband had an old fashion which they make in front of you at the table! Just amazing. I would definitely come here again very soon.
Always great food and service. Loved when Burrata and tomato’s were on salad menu.
Our meal was very good, but pricy as well. I think that $75.00 for a great steak is a bit too expensive. Our lobster soup was good, but came to our table barely warm. Our server was fantastic, but once we paid the bill we never saw her again, which lessened the experience. We were looking forward to being seated by the entertainment this time, but were told during our seating that there was no room. I find this not very acceptable being we did have a reservation. The area we sat in had a lot of foot traffic, and was very loud. It was hard for us to have a conversation, and to clearly hear our server. You have a great marketing, and great menu which obviously works for you, being the wait list, but for the aveage person, it's a bit out of the budget.
Despite having a reservation, we waited over 30 minutes to be sat. That was just the beginning of a very disappointing experience. The tables are so close together, it is difficult to get in your chair and the conversations are easily heard. For a minimum of a $200 dinner, I would expect a more intimate and formal atmosphere. The service was exceedingly slow, once we were sat. The entire experience took almost 2 and 1/2 hours. To top off the night, the steaks were brought out way undercooked and cold. The baked potatoes tasted like they had come out of the refrigerator. We had to send back our entrees. I can’t recommend this restaurant.
My husband birthday
Chelsea was excellent
The food and our waiter were excellent, will definitely be eating there again next time were at the hotel.
