Cotton Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I love Cotton, have visited many times, and have submitted more than one review. Our visit tonight was just as outstanding as previous ones. We both ordered the evening's special, which was a shrimp and scallop pesto dish. It was delicious. Another thing I really appreciate about Cotton is their willingness to accommodate. I'm not a big fan of scallops so I inquired about double shrimp -- no problem at all for them. The drinks are terrific, tonight we had their signature manhattan and spiced pear nectar martini. And of course the potstickers appetizer. And the restaurant is so clean and stylish. After a very tough week, our visit was a much-needed distraction and we couldn't have been happier to have gotten our "attitude adjustment" there. We will, of course, be back. It's never a question of 'if' -- just a question of 'when'.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve with another couple at Cotton. We expected to be rushed out so that the tables could be turned…we were pleasantly surprised that Cotton only booked one seating for the entire night.
There was a special New Year’s Eve menu, that satisfied all 4 of us. As vegetarians my friend and I selected the acorn squash which was huge and delectable. My husband had the onion apple cider soup and the pork chop. His mouth was watering, and he described his meal as “YUMMY”. Our friend had the onion apple cider soup and the swordfish and was bowled over by how good it was. For dessert we had the apple gallett which was incredible, and our friend had a chocolate bomb which he swooned over.
Our server was Scooter and she made us feel like the only ones in the restaurant. Her recommendations were accurate and our water glasses were never less than full – even after we paid the bill.
We've been to Cotton a few times, never disappointed! Last night I had a phenomenal Delmonico steak with bacon Bleu cheese butter (maybe the best steak I've ever had). My wife had jumbo sea scallops which were perfectly cooked in a very tasty, spicy sauce. The crab cake appetizer was fantastic. The creme brulee and gelato desserts were delicious. Great drinks, unique beer selection (small but comprehensive) and a nice ambiance. The service is always great. Utterly impressed!
Cotton always exceeds expectations. We had potstickers and tuna for apps. Entrees were lamb, steak and grilled chicken and we loved all of them. Of course, we had martinis - dirty blue and pomegranate which we loved. No room for dessert. We had an out-of-town guest who was nicely impressed with one of Manchester’s finest restaurants.
The food, service and drinks were excellent. They have a smaller food menu with exceptional choices. They offer seasonal specials (drinks and food). Really enjoyed the turkey schnitzel. Their take on a flirtini is also quite good. Pricey, but worth it if you are looking for exceptional dining.
Cotton is probably the most consistent restaurant in Manchester. There is never any doubt about the experience. The menu has basically been the same for years, but with interesting specials it still seems fresh. The service is friendly and efficient. They also have one of the best cocktail menus in town.
As usual, Cotton, one of our more frequently visited restaurants, lived up to its outstanding reputation, in food, service, and spirits. Their "signature" Manhattan, using Woodford Reserve bourbon, is a classic. We would have preferred being seated in one of the booths near the bar, but all were occupied, so we were seated in one of the 2-person tables on the other side of the wall. Our server, I believe her name was Karyn, was efficient, courteous, and helpful. I ordered the buttermilk chicken, and it arrived crispy and on top of perfect mashed potatoes. My wife had the turkey entrée, and was equally perfectly done.
The service at our recent visit to Cotton did not measure up to the usual high standard we have always experienced there. We had to repeat our orders because the server could not read her handwriting. She was inattentive and slow to clear dishes before bringing meals. There were enough other examples of poor service that we reduced her tip. Usually the wait staff is very professional.
We decided on Cotton as a half way point meeting friend's. Not only did the menu offer something for everyone in our party, but we completely lucked out with our server. She was attentive and personable and put our experience over the top. Will definitely be returning!
