We enjoy Cotton Row, much more than the Bottle in the courthouse area. There's only one bad seat in the restaurant in my humble opinion and that is by the Bank Vault Door. The round handle sticks fall out from the door and if you're sitting there, it's very cramped. All other seating is great.
The food is always very good and interesting. The wait staff is always pleasant and very attentive.
The salad choices were unconventional, but worth the try, split one, they so I do that and you might both have some left over.
Really nice and efficient service. Outstanding waiter. Great food.
Excellent Food Drinks and Service. Great bloody Mary Bar. Beautiful Place. Best Brunch Restaurant
Outstanding service. Elegant. Food portions are consistently small but excellent quality. Salmon was perfectly cooked and outstanding flavor. Would be better if more vegetables were served with the entrees.
We love eating here. It’s our favorite Huntsville restaurant.
Great restaurant, but we picked the wrong night... out of oysters. Steak and Fish were great!
Cotton Row was a wonderful experience. As a middle class customers, it would be pricey for an everyday meal but for our Anniversary it was a great choice. The service and food made for a memorable and pleasing dinner. I had the beef short ribs and I can't say that I've ever had any short ribs that tender and delicious. My wife ordered the scallops entree' and it looked and tasted like it was straight from the Food Channel. My only critique, is that I arranged on the phone for champagne to be waiting at our reserved table and for them to write Happy Anniversary on our dessert plate. Unfortunately, I had to ask for the champagne and "There was no-one in the kitchen with nice enough handwriting to decorate our plate". Neither thing bothered us, but it was noted. Obviously no where is always perfect, so we will definitely be back!
Excellent restaurant!! 5star all the way!! We will differently go back.
Excellent food and great service! I've never been disappointed by Cotton Row.
Fantastic! Everything I thought it might be. Ruth's Chris last Birthday and it wasn't even close to the meal we had here!
Most Excellent service! With everyone being friendly and knowing you were there. Cotton Row staff goes above and beyond to know the party they are attending and to make sure you have everything you need! Everyone dining there is every staffs responsibility no matter who you are or who has your table. Best service I have came across in a very long time. The service and food are impeccable!! Thanks to all of Cotton Row for their generosity and services for a spectacular evening of great food and a great atmosphere.
this was the 6th time to have dinner there. third time to bring older brother for his bday. the steaks were outstanding. i am concerned if i left our waitress a tip in the folder
if not i will come by. thank you. mr Boyce use to be a patient where i work
Everything was really just right. The dinner was fabulous! Ambience is always lovely and music spot on.
The food was absolutely delicious! We went for brunch and ate on the patio. I had the fried green tomato Benedict with pork belly and he had the Twickenham Original. Everything was cooked perfectly and so flavorful! The mimosas were also delicious and the French press coffee was some of the best in town IMO! Will definitely be back!!
Excellent. Everyone was great, especially the manager. Really appreciated everything y’all did for us! Thanks again!
This was my third time to enjoy eating at the Cotton Row and will not be my last. Valet was excellent! Front desk not so much even though we had a reservation, they made us wait. Service was excellent! I really liked the way they treated my wife and daughter as ladies. Cocktails and food were superb.
Excellent food and service. Truly five stars. Will certainly come again when in the area.
I have never had a restaurant call me right after booking on Open Table and tell me that they need a credit card number. For what? Charging me if I cancel? Showing that I am serious about the reservation? The reservation was for Mother’s Day and I made it 3 weeks ahead of time. I expected them to call again and confirm but they called me at 8:45am the morning OF the reservation. I do not want a confirmation call on a Sunday morning when I could still be sleeping or in church. Due to all of the hassle of this reservation process alone, we will not be back. There are too many other good choices in town and making a reservation does not come with this baggage.
Service and food excellent. Management problem. We had a reservation and it was over an hour before we were seated. Ruined the event.
45 minutes waiting at the bar after our dinner reservation time. Drinks average--nothing special. Got our table--no one came for 15 minutes--no silverware, no menus. Mind you, several empty tables for as much as 15 minutes not being filled. Waiter arrived--wanted drink menu--we asked to see a menu so we could order wine. Ordered wine --and dinner. 30 minutes--wine arrives at same time as our entrees. Didn't order appetizers due to the delay. Entrees were delicious--wife's scallops luke warm but tasty--my halibut was excellent. Waiter didn't really check on us--I re-filled the wine. Came to deliver check and packaged our bottle of wine to go home. 2 hr. Entree only--never again. Each time I've been here, some problem. Too expensive for anything less than a great time. I eat at Highland Bar and Grill at least once per year. 10 x better and worth the drive. This is the typical Huntsville problem--too few professional waitstaff. Cotton Row seems to have deeper problems--inexperienced front of the house (cute youngsters) as well as slow kitchen. I'll take my $160 for dinner elsewhere.
The service was impeccable. Our waiter was attentive without being smothering. Even though the menu was brand new, he was able to answer all of our questions in detail. I was very impressed that after his initial greeting he asked about a food intolerance that had earlier been discussed upon making the reservations. The chef was extremely accommodating in reworking the plate to eliminate problem ingredients.
The food was superb and the plating beautiful. Each couple split a grilled romaine salad as per our waiter’s suggestion.i had the seared halibut that was truly amazing. The others all had the scallops which they agreed were delicious. We each had the house made sorbet for dessert.
There were two things that brought our score from a five to a four star. First, none of us felt that we had had enough to eat. The portions sizes were very small - 4 scallops for instance. The accompanying sides were slightly larger than garnishes. If we had had a few appetizers, I’m sure we would have felt differently. Unfortunately there was only one item on the menu that our diet restricted member could eat and it was not to anyone’s taste.
The second problem was the lack of space in the dining room. Our table was next to the bar (as were a line of tables). The bar was full so patrons and wait staff had to squeeze through this small aisle. One of our diners ways bumped in the back with a purse. Expected on a plane? Yes. In a fine establishment? No. In all fairness, we did have our table pulled out very slightly to accommodate a diner on crutches but that really shouldn’t have made a difference. We had basically already started in the aisle.
We still had an enjoyable visit and will definitely consider returning for a special occasion. However, we will be sure to peruse the menu ahead of time to ensure there will be an appetizer or two that we are able to partake in.
We visited Cotton Row Saturday night before Mother's Day to treat our mother. We had private dining upstairs with an outstanding server. Most of the food was good except my scallops were not warm. The filets were all perfect. The charcuterie board needs more meat so it's a bit overpriced. The music was good, but too loud. Overall we enjoyed it and will go back.
Tables were too close together. I felt like I was having dinner with 4 other people.
Good food, creative menu, good wine. Was seated directly facing the sun and had to ask to be moved. Waiter was nice but very slow to come back. We missed dessert because we had theater tickets and it took so long. 2 hours without dessert. Good place if you have plenty of time.
Food was great when it came. General service and food delivery was terrible. Table was not ready despite reservation. Excuses for slow food serving were constantly made and some other patrons left. Took over an hour for our meals to come to table after order was placed. Restaurant was more than half empty. Plenty of wait staff was on hand.
Exceptional and Accommodating even when everyone orders the same dish, the awesome short ribs. After three years of my sporadic patronage, always consistent in providing great flavors in their sublime dishes.
5:45 reservation, ordered Fried Green Tomatoes, too much breading - they were nothing special, husband ordered oyster app, pretty good, fried perfectly, tasted a little strong for me. Entrees took an hour, after expressing concerns about making our 7:30 concert on time. Husband ordered duck breast, skin was extremely thick and not crispy, flavor was good. I ordered halibut, pan seared both sides extremely crispy, there was no breading and the texture was dry, paid 16 extra for 2 scallops, decent sized nothing special, risotto was good. Staff removed cost of appetizers, which was greatly appreciated. Food was high compared to quality, ambiance and staff were excellent, it wasn't memorable enough to want to return however and we were rather disappointed
Lovely setting...outside on a warm spring evening.
After giving it five try’s to impress.... Conclusion: Overrated and Overpriced; Boring at Best. Taste was equivalent to that of a chain restaurant... Side dishes showed more potential as it seems time and attention was spent on them vs the entrees. Maybe the kitchen staff has lost their passion for food. Overall, it’s a place to go that’s close by if you just want to dine on easily forgettable meals. The entire staff is Grade A+, the ambiance suits the location exceptionally well, the drink menu rivals the best in town!
Our server was very professional. However, the food was nothing to write home about. There a few other restaurants in the Huntsville area that I’d check out before Cotton Row.
All was good, what else do you want me to say!!!!!
Went with family and friend from out of town. Keeps getting better with every visit. Our server Page was extremely nice and helped my son and his friend with after dinner clubbing arrangements. Food was exceptional, of note was the portion size of the fois gras, great value for money. Awesome spot and particularly on a warmish spring evening, was nice to sit out on the patio!
I really enjoyed my birthday lunch at Cotton Row. Our waiter, Ian was super helpful and attentive. The romaine salad with shrimp was delicious!
Was able to easily book a reservation online. Was greeted pleasantly. The bartender was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. She was very helpful. The cocktails were very well crafted. Our server was nice and very helpful. The food was wonderful and the special was delicious. Would happily bring other business guest here again.
Great service and server I can’t remember her name but she was awesome it was this Saturday night and we sat close to the bar. I had elk and my partner had the scallops both delicious and great atmosphere as well!
We had another business dinner in downtown Huntsville, AL. It was a perfect setting, very classy interior and quiet enough to talk (Monday night). Appetizers were excellent, but the main course of filet steak with a glaze, mashed potatoes and vegetables were excellent. Service wasn't the quickest mind you, but that was the only thing I could knock it for. Desserts was delicious, I personally have the chocolate Crunch cake with ice cream........dreamy. Paige was our waitress and she was top notch.
Keep up the good work Cotton Row.
Overall experience: C
- First, the brunch menu does not match what is on the website.
- Our server was friendly and attentive.
- The aged steak was very tough and couldn't chew it...had to send it back. I was told that others had to do the same in the recent past. My order was replaced with a thinly sliced filet, which was tender, cooked to order, and tasty.
- I ordered a cocktail; Alabama something, because that's how memorable it was...couldn't taste any alcohol and didn't enjoy.
- Maybe if I came back at dinner the experience would be different. I'm disappointed.
I will say, don't let my experience deter anyone else from trying CR for yourself. Good eating.
Loud. Slow service. Incorrect orders. Small portions. Way overrated. Avoid
The food is some of the best I've ever had. Wonderful flavors, fresh, local ingredients, knowledgeable staff.
