Cotton Row Restaurant
A vision for comfort, elegance and modern American cuisine is how the story of Cotton Row Restaurant began. We are inspired by the enduring passion of the cotton traders who once worked in downtown Huntsville, and invite you to experience our southern hospitality.

our waitress did all she could, place was packed, she was in weeds and had very little help getting her out of it. manager with headset finally helped as we were finishing but table next to us was there before us and still only has 1 drink and no entrees as we were leaving.
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding!
We took my parents out for their 60th wedding anniversary. The food was simply amazing, it was perfect.
Food and service were both top notch. Only issue was a dessert item on the online menu wasn't on the menu at the restaurant, but that's minor. Will definitely recommend and return.
Good food, friendly service, very expensive. Great for a date or anniversary.
Absolutely a fabulous meal! It was a little slow coming out but the staff graciously poured us another glass of wine on the house - not necessary but very welcomed! We each enjoyed our individual dishes but the shrimp pasta listed on the daily specials was out of this world! We look forward to our next visit!
Not sure exactly how to spell the waiter’s name but I think it is Ian. He was very informative, prompt and friendly. Ok
My fiancee and I ate here minutes after I proposed. It was wonderful. Beautiful restaurant, excellent food (we ordered Filet Mignon and Scallops), very professional server (Ian). Bill was $100 and I left a $20 tip. This may be our "special date night" place in the future.
The food and service was outstanding. The only downside was the serving portion of the shrimp and grits was small and we had to order another entree... so that got expensive. Overall it was awesome and we will be back
Started the meal with what looked and tasted like King's Hawaiian rolls with one pat of butter for two people. I guess I expected a better quality bread product. My wife and I ordered the asparagus salad which was good but she mentioned that there wasn't enough dressing on hers. The waiter never asked and didn't come back around until the entree arrived. Both of us chose the filet option and they were done as we requested. Meanwhile, my wife's drink had gone empty and no follow up by the staff. She contented herself with the water. Dessert was also good but not outstanding. This was our first trip this restaurant and we have a rule that if it wasn't great we will give it one more chance so we will return someday. Maybe.
This was my first time at Cotton Row and it exceeded all expectations. The service was excellent. They had it down to a science and brought our courses in at the perfect times and when we asked about the history or the building, he answered with no hesitation and gave a great explanation. The food and overall restaurant look, feel, and experience was an absolute delight. I can't wait to go back.
I took my 97 year old Mother N Law to Cotton for Mother's Day. We had a beautiful experience. The staff was very accommodating. My Mother N Law is limited to what she can eat and the staff made sure she was well taken care of. Thank you for a wonderful experience. She truly enjoyed the experience.
The food was fantastic. The service was great. The atmosphere was great — very romantic, not loud. I also like the down-town location.
After a hectic start, the quiet and comfortable ambience was much needed. The food was DELISH, but pricey. Did expect that though, for we knew we were paying for the experience as well. I will be a regular.
My wife and I went to Cotton Row for our anniversary. I really looked forward to the experience. Since I was in Huntsville on business we decided to get reservations around lunch time. The service was very good. My wife and I ordered the lobster ravioli. When it arrived we each received 4 small ravioli and that was it!’ No bread, no veggies, no salad. Just 4 little ravioli. All for a total bill of $30 plus dollars with tip. They were very good but certainly not that good! I have eaten in some of the finest restaurants in the country in my career and nowhere else have I received so little.
Great as always
My husband and I were in Huntsville for a show and happened to find an open table at Cotton Row at the last minute. We’ve heard great things and were excited to give it a try. The room is nice (would be quite a tight fit for anyone with accessibility needs) and well appointed. We were seated straight away and ordered drinks. It was a nice start. And then the bread arrived, setting the table for a disappointing meal. We were given two stale rolls that appeared to have been store bought. I would’ve expected a nice bread with an open crumb, something artisan. I quite literally could’ve walked into any grocery store and purchased something better. While I had expected a limited menu, I didn’t expect such a mundane list of entrees. It was so basic...a fish, a scallop, a filet, short ribs, and another equally boring. If you’re looking for originality, clearly, this isn’t the place. The grilled hearts of romaine salad was sopping in dressing, each bite lifted had the appearance of having been individually dunking into a bucket of dressing. With a lighter hand, it would’ve been quite delicious. I ordered scallops and my husband had short ribs. Both were extremely salty. Other than the salt, there didn’t seem to be much added flavor to any of it, although it would’ve been impossible to detect any spice under all the salt. As with the salad, if the chef or cook had a lighter hand, both dishes were redeemable. We were not tempted to try a dessert. I should note that we do enjoy salt and aren’t a “salt free” couple who were simply unaccustomed to eating it. I am also a bread baker. I know a decent crumb when I see one and I know the difference between a nice, crisp crust and a stale one. Cotton Row is perhaps leaning on its reputation and is hoping to continue to coast into the future with their current customer base. If you’re looking for a food experience, Cotton Row just isn’t up to par.
This was the first date restaurant for my wife and I and it continues to be our favorite restaurant in Huntsville. In the entire state for that matter. Will continue to return. Great environment. Great drinks. Great menu. Fair prices.
Very accommodating for rescheduling our reservation, valet made everything so much easier, and the service was excellent!
Great food and service. Wish I would have found it early in my trip; would have dined more than once.
A very cute restaurant with great service and delicious food.
College graduation for relative
Went there to celebrate the selling of a business did almost everything I requested stop. Had requested to be in The Wine Cellar they did not fulfill that request but everything else was great!! Would recommend to anyone. Very good restaurant very good food
We had a very lovely dinner for our 20 yr wedding anniversary.
My best restaurant!! Amazing food , very elegance place
Love this place...always great food and service. Always great.
Terrific food and atmosphere! We will be back next time in Huntsville.
We've been to Cotton Row several times over the years and have never been disappointed. The service, food quality and environment are consistently great. I highly recommend Cotton Row for any occasion.
The ribeye I had was very low quality with a lot of gristle and connective tissue. The foraged Mushrooms were some of the BEST I have ever eaten.
Excellent experience. Great service, great food! Will be back.
I requested a private table by a window for a birthday when making my reservation. I specifically said I did not want to sit in the back near other tables. I was told this would be taken care of. Much to my great disappointment we were not seated at a table like I requested but instead were seated at the back close to other tables. We will not be returning.
Good for conversation and a nice bottle of wine.
Our server Queen was excellent despite having at least 6 tables. There seemed to be a lot of ancillary help - water, food runners and hostess but not many servers. We are vegetarian and their were plenty of options. Our salad was good and interesting but not great as was are Morel mushroom risotto. Our specialty margarita was outstanding and we had a very nice bottle of wine. Our dessert was also outstanding. It was a toffee crunch cake with toffee ice cream.
Excellent evening with friends
Service wasn’t great but I overall enjoyed sitting outside and enjoyed the food and wine
Our server was fabulous and knowledgeable about the area and restaurant.
Really great brunch. 3 well curated courses with excellent choices
