Nestled on the southwest corner of the Courthouse Square, the three-story brick building that houses Cotton Row Restaurant was built in 1821 along the cotton exchange.

Excellent service from the time you pull up to the complimentary valet parking right through to the end of the meal. The food was for the most part excellent, though the duck was cooked to medium-well (I would have chosen medium rare had I been given the option). The flavors were excellent, and my wife is still raving about the grouper two days later.

Honestly we’ve had much better experiences in the past at Cotton Row. We asked to make modifications to our order and it didn’t come out right, then were charged incorrectly. The servers seemed attentive, but they missed our requests and that’s surprising. We’ve come here 8 years in a row to celebrate our anniversary, and this year was a let down.

Gerome was an amazing waiter. He took so good care of us and went over and beyond to make sure our wine was not corked. I’ve been fortunate to dine all over the world, including Michelin Starred restaurants and this was truly a 5 star experience. Thank you, Gerome for such a special night!

Love this place for excellent food and options for brunch menu. Always fresh and fantastic service! I was sad to learn the bloody mary and mimosa bar was no longer self serve. Thought it was unique, not offered many places.

First time here. Food was really good. I especially liked the lobster mac! The service was very good as well. I look forward to returning. Ask for a tour of the wine cellar.

All the components to make a great restaurant are there...but something is missing. Service was slow, bill was incorrect, and food came out cold. Could use one less hostess and maybe a floor manager.

This is a delightful, upscale restaurant. The food and service were simply amazing! I'd call it American southern food done in a modern style. We were there for the Sunday brunch.

Have been to Cotton Row a few times before, and always enjoyed the experience, particularly the food. However, my Valentine's experience left a lot to be desired for several reasons, but I think can be summed up into the logistical nightmare that is the second floor. To be clear, the food was just about excellent, as always is the case for Cotton Row, but the service and confusion that we experienced really turned the night into a mess. For starters, when we sat down they did not have a wine / cocktail list since all others were occupied. No problem, but when we did put in our drink orders, I received my cocktail, then appetizers, then my date's wine (about 45 minutes after we were seated) and then bread, all at about 10 minute intervals. Several other requests we asked for (a knife, since one fell on the floor) and a coaster to fix the severe imbalance on our table, for example, were not fulfilled. We also were incorrectly brought the wrong dishes at least twice, so clearly something weird was going on with the table arrangements they had that night. As we were leaving, I realized the second floor was entirely separate from the restaurant, requiring the dishes to be run to the second floor entrance from the outside. I think this led to a lot of the problems. Bottom line, please don't sit people upstairs if you can't handle the traffic, logistics and increased crowd size. It really wasn't worth the $240 tab for a night of confusion and unfulfilled requests.

The approach to the evening was pretty creative with the candle light at the table.
It seemed like the tables were really close to each other. It was hard to have an intimate evening when you so close to others. Also the food was not to the quality of the value that was requested. Finally with a select menu, the wait time for food was pretty long.
Overall with the limited space the restaurant did the best it could with what they had. For the cost to value ratio of the food and service, this restaurant would not be at the top of the recommendation list.

It’s was Valentine’s Day. I had never been there and always wanted to go. It’s a nice place and decorated nicely. The food was good. Expensive but good. Thank goodness I was full and dinner. They had nice portions.
It was a cold night, and we were seated next to the hostess stand. There was only a curtain to shield us from the front door so I was very cold the whole time, which made is less fun. They were really busy so I felt it was a little chaotic. Originally they were going to seat us upstairs but at last minute they seated us by the hostess stand. I would probably go again but maybe for lunch or dinner but on a warmer night. I saw other people with their coats on too during dinner.

I chose this restaurant because of its high ratings and it had duck on the menu! However, the Valentine’s Day menu was different and duck was not on the menu. I was very disappointed..so I chose the filet mignon and lo’ and behold..it was amazing! Every item i had was exquisite! I will definitely be going back, and next time we will try the duck 😁

My husband and I ate here for the first time for Valentine’s Day. The food was just so-so. My husband had chicken breast, and it was dry. I had grouper. After taking several bites, I noticed something wasn’t right with it. It seemed tough and gummy. Turns out it wasn’t cooked properly. A waiter saw us looking at it and asked if something was wrong. When we told him it was undercooked (raw in the middle) he offered another or something else. I opted for another. It was cooked fine and tasted good. However, nothing stood out as great. The food wasn’t very flavorful. I expected at an establishment of this type, we would’ve been offered some type of compensation for the raw fish, also. Or at least an apology from the manager. The service was very good, but unfortunately, that’s all that was.

My sea scallops were only lightly seared and not done, they were pure mush with no flavor!!! The combination of scallops, bitter kale, raisins and slab of cauliflower was not pleasing to the palette . The core of the cauliflower was huge and the few floweretts were raw, totally !! My date was going to order the filet for $42 but was told the ribeye was on special for the same price but was instead $60! Including tip our total was $168!!! Very disappointed in the food. Our server was fair and stayed in touch with us . I will never recommended Cotton Row again.

Watch your credit card here !!! They charged my card for my party AND two other unknown parties !! And switched my card with another party’s !! And then the manager expected ME to come all the way back to the restaurant to fix THIER gross incompetence after I discovered the situation when my subsequent credit transaction was voided !!! Thanks for ruining our evening Cotton Row !!

Went to a wonderful dinner with my parents and husband. Cotton Row was an elegant and classy choice. We appreciate that were able to have an amazing adult dinner. The food was fantastic, the service was impeccable, and the restaurant was accommodating to the food allergies my family and I have. We will definitely be back!

Food was excellent and service was outstanding. Our server, Ian, was very professional and attentive. It was clear that he cared for his customers’ dining experience and the reputation of the restaurant. Be sure to save room for dessert - the Housemade Ice Cream and Sorbet selection was especially wonderful.

Cotton Row was as advertised. I took my wife there for her birthday and she was thrilled. She had mentioned that she wanted to try Cotton Row after a walk we had downtown. I had asked people that had eaten there and loved it. The food was excellent even though I didn’t know what half of it was.

Setting was beautiful, an old bank. Easy parking and a wonderful resturant. There was nothing we could improve. We had great fish entrees and entire menu looked amazing . Trip advisor was how we found it and not disappointed at all.

Loved the atmosphere, the food was pretty good--fried green tomatoes and grilled romaine were delish as appetizers. Coffee was great served in a french press and desserts were amaze. My entree was alright. I had the halibut in the citrus glaze but it wasn't very wet with the sauce. It was ok but I'd try something else next time.

Great food with a seating area that is somewhat tight. Food was pricey, drinks (3 total) and dinner ran us close to $150. I did have leftovers. We had to ask for two food items that we should had before and/or during our meal. Next time, we will try the brunch which may not be as expensive.

My fourth time dining here, the first two times were excellent. The last two times the food has been horrible and I won’t go back. My foie gras was burned on the outside and undercooked in the middle )last visit also). Our entree had a sauce that had been scorched. The meat, venison, had no flavor or seasoning. Just some salt and pepper would have helped. The chef puts too much sauce on any of the meats. You can’t taste the meat! For the second time I have felt like a there is a kid from McDonald’s cooking in the back.

A delightful find right in the heart of Huntsville. From the Fried Tomatoes (perfect), Beet salad, crab cakes and beef ribs, topped off with the Chocolate Toffee Treat - served with care, it will be a place to return.
