Cotton Row Restaurant
A vision for comfort, elegance and modern American cuisine is how the story of Cotton Row Restaurant began. We are inspired by the enduring passion of the cotton traders who once worked in downtown Huntsville, and invite you to experience our southern hospitality.

Excellent food and great service!! Will definitely go back!
Everything was fabulous! Delicious food, fantastic service, ambiance...not a single complaint 😊😊
Amazing as always
The food was absolutely amazing!!! We can’t wait to go back! Best fried green tomatoes and creamy grits I’ve ever had!!!!!
Great food, service and drinks!
We made a reservation for Father’s Day a couple of weeks in advance, but were seated at a very small table that barely had room for our food and drinks. The food was not on par with the price; however, the service was as excellent. I was frankly disappointed. The competition on the square in downtown was much better and less expensive.
My first time to Cotton Row. Loved it. A bit loud but that was from one group of "The Over-Served". lol. We had the charcuterie platter. Loved it. The Blue Cheese was over the top. Shared a grilled romaine. Just ok. Then we had the seared scallops and the short ribs. VERY GOOD. Would go again for sure. Service was good too.
New to the area and was looking for a special place to celebrate our 33 wedding anniversary. This place was perfect! It is our new favorite restaurant.
My husband and I drove down to Huntsville to eat at Cotton Row for our anniversary. I’d requested to sit on the patio. The table location was great and in a quiet location even beside the street. My only complaint about the location of the table was the gnats/flies that swarmed us the first 30 minutes we were there.
We were seated and shortly after we received our water and drinks. We ordered dinner, but it was only after we’d finished dessert and overheard another staff member giving the night’s specials which our waiter never offered. That was disappointing because we would have ordered the special.
We had several staff members making sure we had what we needed. The restaurant wasn’t overly busy. However, somehow when we received our food, everyone had forgotten to bring us silverware. We sat for a good 2-3 minutes before we got our silverware with our food in front of us.
The food was excellent. The atmosphere was great. I’d highly recommend this restaurant and will be back.
Food was excellent but a little over priced. Patio dining was a bad idea- sitting on a very busy street with a traffic light, leaning chairs from concrete that was not level and leaf blowers clearing debris from parking lot across the road made for unpleasant seating and business conversation conditions. Short ribs cooked perfectly and the peanut butter and jelly dessert was worth the extra calories
Excellent food, but the service is a terrible.
We had a good meal, but the wait was totally unacceptable. We had to wait 20 - 25 minutes between taking drink orders, dinner minutes, and even longer to get the check. The waiter blew us off after we didn't by a $200 bottle of wine and left us to liquor up some drunk businessmen on whiskey. We received no bread and waited and waited. The waiter even swiped all silverware after the appetizer and left us with our entree for several minutes without utensils. It was noisy and loud. Staff appeared to be drinking and gave dirty looks at us when we tried to get their attention.
Listen. The food was excellent. The pasta appetizer we ordered tasted good. The scallops were divine. But there is more to a nice restaurant than good food and a Victorian environment. Service should come foremost. We pay the higher prices for good service. I shouldn't be waiting for several minutes for service when there are 8 servers only 20 customers in the restaurant. Was there a reason that nobody had bread? It was just kind of a cheap-cheesy jester to give everyone bread plates and knives but no bread.
If I go to Cotton Row again it will be for take out. I can take your excellent food and show people a wonderful evening; but I am afraid that taking people to the restaurant will make them mad. I was just disappointed that a $120 dollar meal had such poor service. I did not let the waiter know how annoyed I was. I didn't want to ruin the mood for the other people dinning.
Please address the long waiting issue.
Please make sure your staff is not drinking (waiter was moving unnaturally and had glazed eyes).
Please don't swipe the all utensils before the entree arrives.
Please provide some sort of bread.
Please don't change the food. It is perfect. No problem there.
There is a lot of potential at Cotton Row, just address the service issue. I would like to go back, but only if the service is improved.
Their brunch selection was limited (specifically the number of breakfast items), but the food was fantastic and they had a nice variety of mimosas which was fantastic (pineapple and pomegranate mixed was a great combination suggested by our waiter.
Food was good, but not great. Tables too close together to have a private conversation.
As usual the waiter for our table was outstanding, very attentive but not in the way. The food was excellent, flounder and filet. The lower rating for this visit was for the very long wait for our table. We had a 7:45 reservation for 2. We were seated at a "temporary table" at 8:30. At about 9:00 we were moved to our reserved table in the cellar. We still had not gotten our drinks that we ordered at our temporary table, even though the large party behind us got theirs immediately when seated after us. The main dining room was very loud but once we got to the cellar, everything was perfect. Don was a fantastic server and the cellar is so quiet and cozy that it feels like a private dining experience. It was a mixed evening but ended very well.
This restaurant is amazing! I just moved to Huntsville and had two friends come visit me. We went to Cotton Row reluctantly because the menu seemed very southern "meaning grits and fried green tomatoes". Being from the north, we are not used to that on a menu. To our surprise, it honestly was the best meal we've had from a restaurant in a very long time! We ended up splitting a couple of entrees and some appetizers just to try as many items as we could. Everything was delicious!! The cocktails were outstanding and the wine list impressive! Our waiter, Don was fantastic! He was accommodating, knowledgeable and very patient with three ladies who occupied his table for a very long time! Thanks Don!! I would highly recommend this restaurant and I can't wait to go back again!!!
We believe Cotton Row is simply the best food available in Huntsville. From the appetizers, to the entree’s, to the desserts, there’s just no other place that can top Cotton Row.
Wellington was out server and he was amazing! It was my Mom's birthday and her dessert came out on a plate with a beautifully written birthday message and candle. Loved it!
Outstanding as always
My wife and I ate there for our anniversary. For the appetizer my wife ordered the fried green tomatoes. (She always orders them at Cotton Row.) They were very good but the serving was skimpy on Remoulade sauce. We asked the waiter for more and he promptly brought more. For entrees, we ordered scallops and halibut. My wife said the scallops were excellent. The serving was large and she could not finish them. My halibut was good but the crust was a bit tough and I had to use a knife to cut through. We had sorbet for desert and the quadruple of flavors were excellent. The service at Cotton Row is excellent; the best in Huntsville.
The filet was so tender you could cut it with a fork. Excellent flavor. The martini was excellent and a nice wine selection. Wait staff was very attentive.
Anniversary dinner, nice evening has the patio almost to ourselves. My wife had flounder, I had Salmon. Both were very good. They had a nice Bourbon/Whiskey list and I might have opted for a premium poor, but without prices, I choose a more pedestrian label.
Farewell dinner with friends
First time dinning at Cotton Row, this was my sons pick for his 25th birthday. Great pick the food was excellent as was the service. Great find in Huntsville.
Cotton Row has the best service that I have experienced in a long time! Food was excellent, priced appropriately. Will definitely return for the next special occasion!
Food was great but the service was very slow and not that crowded so we were disappointed.
My previous good experience and favorable opinion of Cotton Row was undone by our dining experience last night. Incredibly slow service although they were not busy, so-so cocktails, bread and desserts. Starters and entrees were fine though less than perfect - and if you want to charge $75 for a NY strip, it ought to be perfect. Perhaps the take away point is to go on the weekend but I won't hurry back.
our waitress did all she could, place was packed, she was in weeds and had very little help getting her out of it. manager with headset finally helped as we were finishing but table next to us was there before us and still only has 1 drink and no entrees as we were leaving.
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding!
Amazing food and great drinks. Would make a good special occasion dinner
We took my parents out for their 60th wedding anniversary. The food was simply amazing, it was perfect.
Food and service were both top notch. Only issue was a dessert item on the online menu wasn't on the menu at the restaurant, but that's minor. Will definitely recommend and return.
Good food, friendly service, very expensive. Great for a date or anniversary.
Really enjoyed sitting outside!
Not a large variety on the menu but the food was excellent. Pricey so be prepared.
Absolutely a fabulous meal! It was a little slow coming out but the staff graciously poured us another glass of wine on the house - not necessary but very welcomed! We each enjoyed our individual dishes but the shrimp pasta listed on the daily specials was out of this world! We look forward to our next visit!
Not sure exactly how to spell the waiter’s name but I think it is Ian. He was very informative, prompt and friendly. Ok
My fiancee and I ate here minutes after I proposed. It was wonderful. Beautiful restaurant, excellent food (we ordered Filet Mignon and Scallops), very professional server (Ian). Bill was $100 and I left a $20 tip. This may be our "special date night" place in the future.
The food and service was outstanding. The only downside was the serving portion of the shrimp and grits was small and we had to order another entree... so that got expensive. Overall it was awesome and we will be back
Started the meal with what looked and tasted like King's Hawaiian rolls with one pat of butter for two people. I guess I expected a better quality bread product. My wife and I ordered the asparagus salad which was good but she mentioned that there wasn't enough dressing on hers. The waiter never asked and didn't come back around until the entree arrived. Both of us chose the filet option and they were done as we requested. Meanwhile, my wife's drink had gone empty and no follow up by the staff. She contented herself with the water. Dessert was also good but not outstanding. This was our first trip this restaurant and we have a rule that if it wasn't great we will give it one more chance so we will return someday. Maybe.
