Authentic and delicious Italian cuisine served by the owner Nino and his lovely staff.
Overall an excellent experience - superb food and very attentive service.
The total bill represented very good value which is much more important than minor irritation at a £1 charge for (excellent quality) bread and butter and a somewhat excessive added service charge of 15%.
Would definitely recommend and would definitely return.
Fab Italian food, well cooked and delicious. It’s often very difficult to find a good range of choices of gluten-free food that is tasty and freshly made, but Cotto excels.
I’ve kept this gem a secret from my wife until now, I guess we will be coming back very regularly now the cat’s out of the bag. Can’t wait for lockdown to end!
Friendly, good food. Excellent, my family and I were made to feel very welcome.
Lovely family friendly restaurant. Looked after us very well and had great food. Very welcoming.
Cotto is Fantastic value. It casual dining with a great vibe and proper italian food.
Staff were lovely and friendly, but the tomato sauces were a bit bland and that is the hallmark of an Italian restaurant.
The restaurant failed to honour the Open Table booking. We booked a table for a post-theatre supper. I hadn’t eaten there for about 10 years and had some fond memories of one of the veal dishes so was looking forward to it. When we arrived at the restaurant, and despite being 15 mins early for the booking, a rude lady sitting inside the door barked “closed” at us abruptly and asked us to leave. It plainly wasn’t closed, as we could see people eating.
So great and friendly, we came back for more the following night!
An appalling experience. We shared a tricolore salad which was poor but edible. Then we had pizzas which were simply not edible. The vegetarian one was absolutely soaked with oil. The other was also very oily and had ham which smelled well past its best. Before this meal I didnt think it was possibly to serve inedible pizza. I was wrong. Worst meal I've eaten in ages - at a loss to understand how it has positive reviews. Avoid
We are from out of town and it was our third time back. The food is excellent, especially for gluten free. Authentic southern Italian homestyle cooking - tasty and satisfying, unpretentious. Huge menu too! We feel like we are family and will always come to Cotto when we are lucky enough to be back in London! Great place to bring kids or family of all ages as well.
A great little place with lots of atmosphere and ambiance. The staff are friendly and attentive. Food was delicious too.
Nice family run resturant nice service from the waitress. Food was a little naturally bland hence she knew she had to ask do we want salt pepper with everything. But overall decent experience.
Fantastic meal with home made gluten free pasta that was the best I've ever had. The owner is friendly and really wants everyone to have a great time. Will definitely be coming back to try another gluten free ravioli!
Recommend to everybody, both those with and without allergies.
As ever a friendly welcome at this family run restaurant. The food, which is not overly sophisticated, but tasty and wholesome, was the reason for our visit. The extensive range of gluten-free dishes is the draw. There's a good mixed clientele, with families, couples and larger groups all accommodated. A pleasant meal in a welcoming atmosphere.
Food was lovely, couldn’t fault it. Restaurant however was completely empty so ambience lacking. Offered bread early on as you are in many restaurants, charged £1 each for a single slice of bread which we weren’t told when offered, frankly this is disgraceful behaviour and underhanded. Would put me off going back.
This was my 2nd time at Cotto and I like that this is an authentic Italian restaurant which got a real family feel to it. The food portions are big and really nice and the service is friendly and helpful. Would definitely go back.
Food was OK but service extremely slow.
Nice visit to this small local family-run restaurant. The home made gnocchi was just ok but everything else was very good - grilled sardines and bresaolo starters and pizzas and veal chop mains. It was interesting to see the difference between the normal and gluten-free pizzas. Our gluten-free diner was happy with their pizza, a little crisp around the outside but doughy in the middle. Decent Italian red wine at reasonable prices. Our waiter was strictly business and in a hurry to take orders but perfectly efficient and everyone else seemed friendly. Would return.
It’s difficult to find a restaurant that has fabulous food for people with dietary needs. I would eat here once a week if I lived in London! The owner was extremely friendly . There were 6 of us & only I had issues. They loved everything as well.
Small space.
Bread was charged. Extra bread was not gratis.
Sword fish was not great.
Pasta dishes were amazing
Excellent genuine Italian. We went for pre-theatre at 6pm and by 6.15 it was pretty busy so make sure you book! Friendly reception, nice big bread tray and really good food. The home made pastas are very good indeed, and a half bottle of verdicchio was just right. Highly recommended!
Because they have a gluten free options and also regular menu.
Lasagne was burnt. Naked women on the walls. Lady on the counter had her face mask on. That does not go well with enjoying food in a restaurant. Ambiente was nice
It is the first time I have been to Cotto and took a chance at recommending it to friends for our next place to meet and catch up. The food was excellent, and the service very good until the bill was given to us without waiting for us to ask for it. It made us feel unwelcome, were being rushed out of the restaurant and the owner stood by our table speaking in Italian in a deliberately loud voice to a couple sitting on the table next to us to the point where we could not hear each other when trying to have a discussion. It made us feel very uncomfortable and ruined our four monthly get together to catch up with with each others lives. However, in spite of this, we very much enjoyed the food and the fact that gluten free choices were available for one of my friends was refreshing and they would like to return for our next get together.
Cotto is a great little restaurant and perfect for anyone who is coeliac/ following a gluten-free diet and is bored of all the usual chains! Cotto offers an extensive menu and a lovely homely, family-run vibe. Easy to get to from Waterloo station too. I really recommend this restaurant.
My wife and I stopped in for dinner during a recent holiday trip. It seemed less touristy then most places in the area. Food was good and staff was friendly and attentive. I'd definitely dive there again.
They served bread as starters, but they charged without informing us of the cost. Also the bread was like rock and was hard on the teeth.
Quick service . And full gluten free options. 5 of us were all very happy with the meal. Would definitely recommend for groups with one GF members as there was no compromise on the other meals . And everything had a GF options.
Awesome Italian dinner!
I love coming to this place. The food is always amazing.
Very nice and small family run place. It feels you are in Italy
We just love this place. The owner is so awesome and it’s great to get legit GF food that taste like regular homemade Italian. And the prices are great for how good the food is. Go try it out!
The food was okay, albeit overpriced but the service really wasn't very good. A 15% service charge was automatically added to the bill which, given the poor quality, was very presumptuous. I would expect 10-12.5% ordinarily. We felt rushed out despite the fact that the restaurant wasn't busy and our waiter wasn't very attentive. The food was overpriced for what it was and I wouldn't recommend or return myself.
Great food and staff made this a very enjoyable lunch. All options are available gluten free which was good for me but the standard versions I am told were also brilliant. Great Italian food!
Wonderful to find an authentic Italian restaurant with so many home-made gluten-free options.
Fantastic meal! Rivaled some of the best food we’ve had in Italy - and that’s not easy to do!
Amazing service and food. The authentic Italian experience.
Excellent gluten free options, the whole menu is taylored for those wanting gluten free. However even though the food is tasty, it’s not exceptional. Very homely. Good but not fantastic.
Excellent italian food, friendly service and a genuine athmosphere. We visited on a friday night, the restaurant was maybe half full. Very friendly service and extremely fast! I was surprised how quickly we got our food and have to say - IT WAS GOOD!
Definately a great place to go if you're looking for a genuine italian restaurant!
