When I compare my dinning at Cotto vs. other restaurants in Downtown Stamford, their a bit more expensive than most. The menu is limited and the flavor profiles are ok but at the prices offered, not worth it. I would recommend Cask, Fish, Barcelona, Flinders Line, etc., before going to Cotto.
Wonderful experience. We took Mom for Mother's Day. A very authentic Italian gathering spot. Loved the food and the servers.
We just went for Mother’s Day and everything was excellent!! Loved the Italian music playing too. Perfect!
Very good food for the money. Bar tender seemed overwhelmed however. The owner sat at the bar working on the computer. Very impersonal. He missed a great opportunity to engage, as brief as it may be.
We had a 7 pm reservation and they did not have a table for us. Once we finally sat, they gave waters to 2 of the 4 of us and 15 min later we finally got waters for all of us. They brought out 1 appetizer and it took at least 10 minutes for the remaining appetizers to come out. They brought out 2 dinners and then it took a long time for them to bring the remaining dinners so the first 2 people's meals were cold by the time the other people were served. One of us had the lobster pasta. There was a lobster claw, it wasn't cracked and they did not provide anything to crack it open with. We asked for a spoon for one meal, the waitress said sure, and then never brought it. The food was fine, nothing special, and certainly not something worth sitting through such poor service for. We would not recommend this restaurant at all.
Really wonderful meal but it was way too noisy to have a conversation
This is the third time I’ve been to this restaurant and I love it more every time I go, it’s really lovely and so is the staff, I can’t wait to go back!!!
Charming little restaurant with great service. Try the cod entree. The wine was terrific as well.
Nice little restaurant in Stamford next to the mall. Food was decent and service w as good.
We decided to give Cotto a try as we liked the looks of both their cocktail and food menus. We weren’t disappointed! Each of the four dishes we had was equally delicious – couldn’t even pick your favorite. Can’t wait to go back!
Food was good and the place was recommended by a friend. Service for the most part was good but the server never told us about any of the specials, etc. As we were paying the bill the server near the table next to ours was explaining all the specials to them. It’s a shame.
Hi , Thank you for your candid review. I apologize that we didn't meet your expectations during your visit. It appears we didn't do a great job of explaining our specials to you and the style of serving. Please reach out to me directly, email@example.com om, the next time you are coming in and I will personally make sure you enjoy your visit.
Great service, good pastas but very mediocre veal Milanese.
My family and I absolutely loved it! Staff was fantastic and accommodating. Can't wait to go back
We enjoyed our dinner very much and hope to return soon. Lovely place!
We had the mussels, cheese & meat board, and bucatini pasta dish. The cheese board was HUGE! The service was fantastic - he made great recommendations and always made sure to refill the bread. The mussels were really decent size and the wine sauce was amazing. I wish we were more hungry for the pasta but it was really good - a tad spicy for my liking but I have a pretty sensitive tongue. We will definitely go back (so many great tapas options to try), and we will be recommending to friends, for the great service alone.
My new favorite restaurant in Stamford
Great date spot with fantastic food and wine!
Lovely server, delicious meal and good prices! What more could you ask for? Oh wait...and excellent at accommodating a food allergy.
We have been going here for years and we always have a nice time and we enjoy the food! Love the owner too!
The food was really good. The homemade bread was delicious. Hard to say which was better between the food and service. Our server was very attentive, and checked in regularly to let us know when our courses were arriving.
Had plastic in my food from
Packaging. Waitress pretty much ignored me when I mentioned it. Food was still good but I’ve never had such bad service after a bad event.
Amazing all around!
This place is a gem! The food, service, wine, ambiance were all excellent.
Had reservation at 5:00 pm on Sunday. The restaurant was closed when we arrived. A young man opened the door and told us the restaurant was opening at 5:30 rather than the usual 10:00 because of an issue with the manager. I told him we had a reservation at 5:00. The manager was she also the bar tender.
He didn’t specifically say we could wait inside the restaurant til 5:30. Given there was no contact by the restaurant for the opening time change ~ no customer service, no bartender and concern whether the cook show up, we left. We won’t be back given the lack of concern for its customers.
We loved the food and the ambiance, it a great little spot, a hidden gem!
Great atmosphere, very warm and friendly staff. Food was excellent and since my girlfriend is gluten free they were very accomodating with substitutions.
We were first ones there and slower service than usual. Fried calamari and Chicken Scarp excellent. Mahi mahi good but over huge Lima beans. Would've preferred rice
We had a nice meal - pasta and salads and wonderful wine-by-the-glass. Also great cappuccino and a great waiter. What's not to like?
Food was good, but they have an opportunity to improve their air conditioning for large groups.
This was our second time to Cotto and both times the dining experience was fantastic. The restaurant is right off main street with a nice modern ambience inside and parking around the corner. The food is very fresh, especially the seafood and nice wine choices. On our first time there the chef, came out to say hello and check if patrons were happy which I always think is a nice touch. The service was kind, attentive and not rushed. We sat outside and enjoyed the fresh air and topped our meal off with some delicious gelato.
Great wine horrible food.
We were the only people there for lunch. The scallops were done to perfection. My first visit and I will return.
Went for brunch and were the only diners in the restaurant the entire time! Bit of a weird vibe. Food wasn’t bad, but overpriced for quality.
I like the location because even though the outdoor seating is on the street, it's not on a main road, so there isn't as much traffic. Wish I could drink wine on my lunch break, but am happy to dine here anyway because the food is so good. I'm in love with their homemade pasta and grilled octopus salad--delish!
A few in our party had the pasta special on the recommendation of our server. It was excellent as promised. Service was attentive and we all enjoyed the meal. We will be back! Very close to the Palace Theater so it was a great choice for a pre-show dinner.
Excellent food. Made for a great Mother’s Day! Service was very attentive and the extensive list of wines by the glass was a plus.
Food was overpriced for mediocre quality. Nothing really stood out. For the price there are better options in the area.
I booked a reservation for Mother’s Day brunch. We arrived, had to wait and then were handed dinner menus. I asked the bus boy for the brunch menu and he told me to find the hostess. The hostess was nowhere to be found. The waitress came 15 minutes later to take our order. When I asked for the brunch menu she said “were only serving dinner because of the holiday.” Left immediately.
This restaurant is not what it used to be. The food is mediocre and cooked in a hurry despite the fact that it takes forever to get your food. The quality of the food has gone downhill. The service is HORRIBLE. Two plus hours for a short dinner. Won’t be going back.
