This restaurant is not what it used to be. The food is mediocre and cooked in a hurry despite the fact that it takes forever to get your food. The quality of the food has gone downhill. The service is HORRIBLE. Two plus hours for a short dinner. Won’t be going back.
Odd. There is obviously no manager. The service was worse than a diner at 4am. Nice enough people but no one had any clue what was happening. Food is fine - just didnt seem to have any soul. Too bad bc the space is well designed and it feels like it wants to be a great spot- they need a professional in there.
Food was delicious! Service great, too. Nice to find a smaller restaurant where you can actually have a conversation. Definitely recommend.
Staff, service, food. They had a valentines day theme
But i based on how everything went
I will be coming here a lot!
I have been in that restaurant for several times and it has never let me down :) always kind, always open to special requests and always good food.
We have recently discovered Cotto, and have been back three times since. Easily one of our favorite restaurants in Stamford - the food is great, the staff are very friendly and professional and it’s a great atmosphere. Highly recommended for an intimate dinner or brunch
My family has been going since the restaurant opened. Sylvia is so kind and wonderful. We love the food and the atmosphere. Such a fun place!
Overall, our dinner was amazing. However our grilled calamari appetizer was pretty tough. Everything else was delicious. We will be going back:)
Had a very good meal for a special occasion. A little on the pricey side and a smaller dish, but still worth it and I would go back.
Met up with a friend here for a late lunch & some wine. We ended up staying for a few hours (probably longer than expected) but the staff were so kind and attentive. Everything we ordered was delicious (Cote D'Azur shrimp, Grilled Octopus, Prosciutto e burrata, Gnocchi alla diva, & Pizza chocotto).
Service A++, Atmosphere A++, Food A++ - will definitely be visiting again!
Wine-friendly with good value. What I appreciated the most is that Cotto Wine Bar took the wine part of their name seriously and allowed me to bring a special bottle of wine from my collection and pay a corkage fee to have it served. That's why I'm giving them four stars. And they carefully decanted the wine into a nice decanter as I requested. We ordered a bottle of prosecco to start the meal - so we also purchased wine from the restaurant.
As a foodie with high standards, the food is okay. It's not a destination food place, but it's good italian food served at a decent price. The service was a little slow at times, but the quality of service was good. At the end of the evening, for a table of 7, I was pleasantly surprised to see that the bill including tip only cost ~$400. The fact that this is such a wine-friendly restaurant is what will bring me back again.
This was a disappointing experience all around. We had a 12:45 lunch reservation and didn’t get seated until almost 1:30. When we finally did get seated it was at a cold table by the door. We weren’t seen by a waitress for at least another 10 minutes and our food- mostly pizzas- was extremely slow in coming out. I was there with four colleagues for a holiday lunch and was apologizing by the end of the meal for my choice in restaurant. Sorry, but this one really missed the mark.
The food, service, and atmosphere were nothing short of wonderful!
As always, great dinner at Cotto. The food was outstanding. The menu changed with less Italian tapas / small plates and more main course dishes. We still found some old favorites and enjoyed a few new main offerings. It’s now more of a traditional dinner experience and we preferred the old small plate concept. But will be back for the food anyway!
Our server was really nice and friendly! We arrived earlier than our reservation but was seated right away. The food and wine was amazing! There was a small issue about the order being mixed up but that was minor. The Chocolate Lava Cake... to die for!
Excellent, authentic food, gracious service, comfortable, good ambience and decor.
We enjoyed delicious pasta dishes. Portions were ample, but not huge. There was a lively vibe and an active bar.
Always a great meal. The entire menu. Staff are friendly.
We have been to Cotto probably 10 times. Unfortunately we have never had good service. Why go back? The food is always delicious.
Everything was just average. The sommelier was a nice touch. Was not happy that at 10:30 they just came along and dropped the check. No offer for coffee or dessert . Don't think i'd go back.
Very nice but was not blown away by the pasta. Must get the grilled octopus. Ambiance was wonderful.
Food was very good. Unfortunately, the staff kept asking if we wanted to order. After the 4th time and 10 minuets sitting we ordered our appetizers. For the next 20 minuets we were asked 3 times, did we want to order the entree. We did and it was very good. After we were asked if we wanted coffee or dessert. We said no and we’re handed our check before we finished our wine. Would we go back, probably not. Our total time at this restaurant was 75 minuets. We could have had a more relaxing dinner at a fast food restaurant. Staff needs training. Too bad as the food was good
Extremely well prepared food served at a relaxed pace. The restaurant is on a small street and has nice outdoor seating which we used. The bucatini pasta may have been the best pasta I ever tasted, and I really love pasta. The tapas we ordered, octopus and lamb were good, but not outstanding. Overall good quality, best for adults, not kids, good for a date or happy hour.
Another great day. Read my previous posts for Cotto i've written. Great food, service, value etc..
Went for a birthday brunch today and it was very relaxing and enjoyable. LOVE THIS PLACE!
Great Italian option in downtown Stamford. Worth multiple visit.
My first visit will NOT be my last. I invited friends from out of town for dinner and they enjoyed there dinner, thoroughly. Enrique, the bartender is a MASTER of the craft. The meals where not enormous. Just the right size. The entire staff was courteous and friendly. No question, we will be back.
Everything looked fancy but the food was not worth the price. Pizza was undercooked and dry at the same time. Sub par overall. Wish i spent that money elsewhere
The service was slow, seeing as there were only 2-3 other tables occupied while we were there. However, the food was delicious and they have an extensive wine list. I would recommend if you are not in a rush!
We have eaten there several times. The food is consistent and wait staff friendly.
Delicious pizza and wine.
Great atmosphere, good food and excellent service
Everything met or exceeded our expectations ... Food is wonderful. Service is friendly and professional... This has been added to our list of the good ones in Stamford....
Staff is EXTREMELY attentive, my wine glass was never empty and I never had a dirty dish in front of me. Food was amazing, the atmosphere in general is vibrant but mellow at the same time. Great wine deals and live music on certain days. This is one of my new favorite places for sure!
The food at Cotto is always great and I enjoy it each time! This time around, we had service that was pretty slow. In our group of 4, one of the entree dishes (which was going to be shared by 2 people) was forgotten and when we notified them a bit after the other 2 people received their entrees and began eating, it was obvious that the meal was never put in. It took another 20 minutes for the last entree to come in and the other people at the table finished their meals by then. The staff apologized, but didn't take anything off the bill or offer anything for the inconvenience, which I thought was not the best service. We were all patient and accepting of the situation, but it would be nice if they acknowledged it with a dessert or a drink, etc. We did order a dessert and although it was delicious, it also took quite some time to get out. It felt as if our waiter would come to us, take an order, and then disappear for 15-20 minutes.
Had a great night out with some girlfriends - delicious food, great wine and wonderful service! We will be going back next time we head to Stamford.
We had tapas that night and every thing we ordered was delicious and perfectly cooked and seasoned. Food was fresh and came quickly. It was a weekday night so it wasn't too crowded. The service was great-attentive and professional. Ian, the manager, was really friendly. Would recommend.
They have lots of delicious Italian Tapas and nice wine and beer options. It was great for Happy Hour or a light dinner in a sophisticated ambience. Thanks Guys!
Had dinner with friends and enjoyed the food and ambience but it was very loud.
Delicious entrees. Tag team approach to genuine service notable. Will come again.
