Costantino's Venda Bar & Ristorante
Ive always been a fan of Contantinos Venda Bar but I recently went for lunch and was disappointed with the service. The waiter was not friendly, he came to the table without introducing himself and just asked if we knew what we wanted. He was short and not welcoming. I have never has such service at this resturant.
The drinks and food were great as always.
I had a reservation for 12 for my son’s college graduation. They called to confirm which was nice. We were early in arriving but seated us timely. Food was excellent. Service was outstanding. Will be back. Thank you!
Celebrated Mother’s Day with a mixed family (kids, adults, grandparents). The staff was great with the kids’ special requests (no specific kids’ menu), answered our questions, and were attentive yet not intrusive. We’ve been many times for date night but this was our first time with our kids and parents. Valet parking is a great perk, especially on rainy days! Excellent food, great service, and a very nice dinner with our family! Can’t wait to visit this summer and sit outside!!
We had a very nice Mother’s Day dinner here. The food was very good. My only complaint was that when we ordered glasses of white wine, the waiter chose the most expensive wine on the list, which we didn’t realize until we got the check. We should have specified what we wanted, but the waiter also should have asked.
Our family went there for a Mother's Day dinner. We were seated on time. 20 minutes later, I had to stop a bus boy to get a waiter to address us. They took our order. Our food was delivered at difference times so we were unable to eat together. The food comments were mixed. My salmon was very good. My wife's pasta dish was just OK. Pizza is not a strong point. The other dishes were good.
We never saw the waiter again until we were done. I don't really blame the waiter because the were grossly under staffed. Two waiters for an entire floor of mostly big tables. Very unfortunate.
Mother’s Day dinner. Service was slow, forgetting requests on multiple occasions. Food was “okay”... not up to Federal Hill standards. I will pick another place next time.
The food was excellent so i would recommend take out. This is not a fun place to go, the restaurant was almost empty, no big city hustle and bustle. The chairs seated everyone so low it just was not a comfortable height for sitting and eating dinner. And the restaurant had a strange odor which you would not expect with the menu prices.
This was my second time eating here and just like the first time the food and service was awesome. It wasn’t the first time for my son and his fiancée and they loved it. Once again thank you for a awesome all around experience.
Very mediocre food. Perhaps it was our pick from the menu.. We tried the sopresata pizza, pasta in vodka sauce and the pistachio gelato dessert. The service was good and the place is charming.
When I tasted the food it was like i was transformed back to my youth eating my grandmother's pasta. I have come back many times and have tried different things... everything is delicious and fresh every time! I have recommended Costantino's to everyone who will listen to me rave about their food... and don't forget so visit Venda Ravioli across the square... it is equally good!!
Don't waste your money! Less than mediocre food, slow service. And what was that square, yellow, weird-tasting thing plated next to our chicken marsala? First time ever no pasta with Marsala. Had to ask for the check three times.
I live in Montréal Canada, and I consider myself a good customer at Costantino's.
I was visiting that restaurant 3 or 4 times per year, with my wife and friends.
Last Saturday, service was not as well as it was....
Also, maybe my last visit at Costantino's, but I will go back on Atwells and will try for sure, other Italian restaurants, because I like the vibe of Atwells.
Like I mentionned, last Saturday, we did not like the service, my wife ordered veal, like we often ordered in the past, and she received chicken instead......server did not offered any compensation, except saying, that it was her fault.....
Love this place. Great food, attentive wait staff. Ambiance is cozy, fine dining atmosphere with old time Itslian music. Great spot if you love Federal Hill.
We enjoyed our experience. Food was excellent service was great.
Fig pizza was super delicious, steak was ok. Staff bringing out food seemed a bit confused as to where each plate went; we were approached with food that was not ours on a few occasions including food boxed up in to go containers shortly after just being seated. Had to request for napkins and utensils. The room we were seated in was quite toasty; couldn’t take any more layers off but the rest of the restaurant was much cooler as we found out while we were exiting. We also seemed to sink in the seats; maybe losing some buoyancy? Overall an average experience.
Burratta cheese appetizer was great. Service was great. Great dinner
Outstanding burrata, but just OK tomato sauce/Parmigiano.
Very lively and happy crowd.
This place came highly recommended, and while I found it to be good, it was not outstanding. The place is divided into several spaces, none of which you can enter through the same door, so on a cold and rainy night we had to go back out to get to the dining room. Once inside, I was disappointed. The tables and chairs are old and uncomfortable (tables for two are small, the chairs are low and lumpy). The menu is relatively small and limited (despite its rather enormous size which takes up room on the small tables). Having said that, the food is solid and a very good price The lamb ragu was terrific (a special), as was the pistachio ice cream dessert. Even the bread was way above average. The servers and other staff were very nice and attentive.
The food is very good and the service was exactly the way we want it to be. The restaurant is very loud at times and this was one of those times. Also, dining area downstairs is a high traffic area, dining room upstairs feels like a small function space. If you have any mobility issues know that the men's restroom is upstairs. Again, very good food and serviceca little bit of a tough dining space.
We were on a business trip and looked this place up. The service was prompt, our waiter knew the menu and the specials with out looking at a cheat sheet. My son had the special pork chop and I had the chicken parm. ( I should have gotten the pork chop, it was out of this world) not that the parm wasn't good. (it could have use more seasoning, sauce was bland) The restaurant could use so upgrades (seats needed more padding, when I sat down I almost fell to the floor) Dated interior and exterior. but over all we have a good experience. I would recommend this place to any one.
Great location and contemporary Italian atmosphere. Delicious food and drinks!
It was loud.
Waiter was outstanding with I remembered his name because he deserves 10/10 stars😄
This restaurant is no joke one of my ABSOLUTE FAVORITES...and I don't have many faves when it comes to dining out. Food is always FANTASTIC and service always GREAT!! I'm always in the mood for the food here.
The food was great. Service was adequate but not very attentive. Cocktails were top notch. The disappoint of the evening was the lack of attention to the reservation. I communicated on the reservation a birthday celebration. No mention was made of it and when my husband asked for a birthday dessert the answer was they do not provide any kind of birthday accommodation ( in a very rude manner). I won’t return for any special occasions!
Came in for our reservation at 10 PM that I had booked online. When we arrived staff made it obvious that they were annoyed we were there and were rude. If they do not want people coming in late they should not have that time available to make a reservation.
We ate in the dinning room. it was nice, low level of noise, we were able to chat. We ordered pasta dishes. I ordered the clam linguine special, my friend ordered the spinach pasta with shrimp, we split the Caesar salad. The salad was good, just the right amount of dressing, without overkill garlic. Now comes the problem:
Our entree was rushed out, we had not finished salads,
I spent years as a wait staffer in very nice restaurants putting myself through school. Rushing the entree, or any component of the meal is a service no no and big Taboo.
Really annoys the “H” out of me as well as a lot of other people to have the entree served before salad course is completed.
The special ( Clams linguine) would have been “excellent “ had it not been for all of the excess chopped raw garlic pieces in the dish. Really difficult to push that around on your plate to avoid eating a mouthful of garlic. That was disappointing.
Wonderful service and fantastic meal. Great place to celebrate a special occasion!
We were a few minutes late and everyone was understanding. The food was outstanding. The sangria was delicious. Excellent staff and service.
Service was ok, kitchen was very slow, restaurant was very loud and drafty, food was very good. Overall a disappointing dinner.
Ordered the NY strip medium well and when it came out it was well well done. Couldn’t eat it. I notified waiter and he apologized and took it back. I assumed I would be getting another one cooked correctly but came back 10-15 minutes later and said can I get you something else. I was told the kitchen was slammed. So I got the cod. I just assumed my meal would go ahead of people who came after me. They did give us a pizza on the house but I felt it was not the experience I was looking for.
I would not return.
LOVE this place but the chairs are so so uncomfortable! I know that seems like a silly thing to review about but it really took away from our celebration. I had to sit on my menu to hold myself up- there was no support in the middle of the chair I felt like I was going to sink through. Other than that this place is great!
Overal my experience was pretty okay. The food and drinks were delightful but, I was not pleased with having to wait so long for a second round of drinks. My table was off in a corner which made our waiter forget about us. I would come eat here again but just wish my last visit was better.
Valentine’s Day. Fantastic!
Our 2nd visit. This place is excellent. Can’t wait to be back
We arrived at 4:30 we were seated in an empty restaurant in front of a party with seven children. We asked if we could be moved and they would not accommodate us. Upon leaving the restaurant, it was still half empty. Once again we mentioned it to the manager and he said there was nothing he could do, all in all a terrible evening and dinner
From greeting to saying thank you, everyone was personable and professional. Service was great. Our lunch was fantastic. Not cheap, but for a great special treat, excellent. Considering a two hour drive from Connecticut, we had a wonderful time and satisfied appetite.
We were sat upstairs in a corner of the restaurant. Was a nice spot for a party of 4. The chairs seem to have seen better days, as most the party noticed they either felt as though they would fall through or they were so low. We couldn’t hear ourselves have a conversation, the restaurant was extremely loud. So loud so the waiter did not get my order correctly. Instead of noticing the error, they just asked if I was fine with eating the wrong order. Not being one to cause issues I did.
Overall an “ok” experience.
A true gem right on Federal Hill. it immediately gives you a contemporary and delightful vibe that continues through your meal. The food is as special and creative as the surroundings around you. We were a table of 12 and all drinks, appetizers and entrees arrived promptly which made everyone enjoy the evening even more. The service was outstanding. We began with drinks at the bar and worked our way to our reservation. Needless to say it was an absolutely delightful night and we close the place down. Super fun. We look forward to returning to Constantinos again. Thank you to everyone there.

Food was delicious. Table was broken and service was a bit slow but not big issues
