Horrible horrible service. 3 hours of great conversation couldn’t make up for the lack of service. I understand they may be understaffed etc, but you don’t continue to take tables or reservations if you can’t keep up. We waited 3 hours for our food. No attention to detail, no waters, no utensils, no care. No food service whatsoever. Disgrace. I was embarrassed bc I was looking forward to showing off my italian heritage. Won’t be back.
The food was Fantastic. The service was very slow do to the staffing shortage.
Steak tips were overcooked but salad was good. Asked for rare came out medium. We asked for outside table which we received but was in direct sunlight so it was a bit warm when we inquired about a shadier table we were told the sun would go down shortly & it did but it was very warm initially
Sat outside and everything was great there yesterday except the excessive number of cars going by with extremely loud music blaring so loud we could not talk to each other.
Audra the waiter was great and attentive!!
Food, service and ambience was exemplary. Pleasant outdoor dining experience. Highly recommend!
Our trio had such a fun Saturday night at Costantino’s! It’s a one-of-a-kind venue, with the best of authentic Italian food, gracious non-stop wait staff, and an amazing outdoor music experience. Great energy and fun music maybe even “do a little dance” before going on their way. Tons of positive energy in and all around Costantino’s. Best people-watching; best singers; most fun! There’s nothing like this outdoor experience anywhere else!
Other then the piazza won't be going back anytime soon. BTW THEY SHOULD LET YOU KNOW VALET PARKING IS ON WEEKENDS! THEY GAVE WRONG INFO AND WE HAD TO DRIVE AROUND THE HILL LOOKING FOR. FOOD FAIR. SERVICE. FAIR TO POOR. POOR PHONE SERVICE
One of my favorite places but they were off their mark today. My veal was sinewy and had a freezer burnt taste. Hopefully this was a isolated experience.
The ambiance was great, the service was acceptable, the food was average. The pasta was great, the gravy(sauce) was poor. I’m older, so you might not all remember chef boy Ade canned spaghetti, great in a can but not acceptable at a restaurant. It doesn’t take much to make a great sauce. I went for the ambiance not a dining experience. So I’m happy.
Chicken on the salad was a bit dry but the tomatoes and mozzarella made up for the deficiency.
As usual, the food was excellent, the outdoor ambience was terrific -- it really is like being in a piazza in southern Italy or Sicily -- the prices were moderate, the portions generous, and, just as in Italy, the service was slow and uneven. We thought for a brief period that our waiter (Santiago) might have gone to lunch. This went beyond the idea of a leisurely lunch, where the diners are in no hurry; the wine order took about 20 minutes to get to the table. Luckily, one of the bus staff brought the wonderful bread and olive oil for which Venda is famous. We asked for more and it arrived about 15 minutes later, which was 15 minutes before any ordered food. One of the four of us ordered pizza as a main course, and it arrived 20 minutes ahead of the other entrees. Overall, some 45-50 minutes for our entrees. The ravioli are legendary, and they deserve to be; the Marsala sauce was perfect. The Pizza Margherita had a beautiful thin crust, and just the right amount of sauce and basil. A REALLY GREAT PLACE and I recommend it VERY HIGHLY for leisure travelers, but do NOT go if you are on a schedule.
Seated 20 mins after our reservation. Had to seek out a waiter after 20 minutes of no one approaching us. Service was fine after that. Veal and bolognese dishes were very good. No cappuccino- they couldn’t find the beans!
I was disappointed in the food. There was too much sauce on the calamari and their was very little lobster in my pasta dish.
Birthday & out of town friends- it rained earlier but we were still able to be outside
a storm was approaching so we sat inside which it was very hot, not AC, finally after an hour someone opened up the door and a breeze cooled down the room. The waiters many of them all walking around very busy, couple of times I had to get their attention, so we could get more bread and water. Overall, it was good, but not the best.
Another restaurant in PVD going downhill. Venda use to be one of my favorites on the hill. Recently, it’s not been. The food portions have gotten smaller and prices stayed the same. Service was ok but our server was clearly distracted by personal things and didn’t get us more bread or another calamari like she said she would. Cocktails were good and they have a lot of good options. Other than that, it felt dirty, overpriced and not enough food that you’d expect on the hill. I’m not rushing back after these last couple experiences.
Great food and even better atmosphere!!
Always a great experience at Venda!
Forget the freshest of pastas, the antipasti and the choice wine list. Having dinner on DePasquale Square as the sun sets on a perfect day . . . Era molto beatitudine. And the waitstaff isn't trying to rush you away for the next setup. Go! You won/t be sorry!
I have never been disappointed in the food or service here. Call ahead open worked just fine. We got there, gave our name, and the table was ready and we sat down ready to enjoy a cocktail before dinner. Excellent!!!
Just came to see the Band and eat great Italian food!!
We were there on a Sunday evening. The service was prompt, waitstaff very helpful and friendly, and the entertainment was excellent.
didn’t get seated.
Delicious as always. Lovely live music. It was very busy however and took an hour and a half for the food. But the server was very nice and informed us the kitchen was quite backed up. To be expected because the place was so so busy. But they brought us bread, we had entertainment, and they kept checking on us with our drinks frequently so we didn’t mind. Food was steaming hot and delicious when it came out
Seated on a side street with a cinematic view of a panel van and the Santander bank, out of ear shot of the servers, performers and kitchen staff. Our table was backed by Venda's glass display case full of mouse traps. Food came inconsistently, drinks lacked liquor, very noisy, people from the street hit the table. Pizza was delicious when it came.
Took 2 hours for lunch. Servers dropped food so everything had to be remade. Then table nearby started smoking which was allowed until I complained. No adjustment to check for all the trouble.
the waiter and food were amazing. The band was way too loud for a patio - could not enjoy the nice patio with my family over the bad Sinatra cover band. If the volume had been lower, it would have been lovely on the patio. They allowed a guy to sit out there smoking a cigar that ruined the taste of the otherwise great food. They should decide whether to be a cheesy bar or a nice restaurant, but cigars and loud bands do not belong there. Suggest you pass until the can the loud music and smoking.
Great food, great service! Would return, Gabrielle and the support staff we very efficient we wanted for nothing.
Unfortunately the AC did not word inside! Sweat was pouring down our faces, but too hot for us to eat outdoors.. the food & our waiter, Carlos was EXCELLENT! We definitely will go back, but in a cooler night
I usually love this restaurant but it was my birthday dinner and the server claimed that the kitchen “lost our ticket” and only addressed the problem after an hour had passed waiting for our food :( we sat at 6:30, ordered our meals around 6:50, and didn’t get our food until 8:30. hooray! the server was nice initially, but didn’t check on us much and I think we should’ve been told why it was taking so long or what actually happened instead of pointless excuses. So so disappointing
Service was extremely slow. Waited an hour after ordering before receiving entree. Had to ask for salt three times before receiving it. Food was disappointing. My pasta was clumpy and stuck together. Would expect an Italian restaurant to know how to cook pasta! Entertainment was very loud. Couldn’t hear yourself think.
Our waiter Matt did not introduce himself, did not provide us with the menu (QR code), and did not provide us with utensils. Matt could use some serious training in customer service excellence! The two young men who brought our food and water were professional and attentive. It was because of their good service that we left decent gratuity.
Overall the food is solid. The calamari is a bit too oily for me although many people like it that way is my understanding. The bolognese is always incredible. Some of the best around. Great drink and wine selections. Music was really good on Sunday 6/27.
Overall experience is good. Patio is a bonus.
The food was excellent. We shared an antipasto and Francine diavalo pasta. The service was indifferent.
Prompt seating and wait staff very good. However after appetizers we waited about 45 minutes for our entrees. Unacceptable. My entree needed more flavor. A little garlic onion some grated parmigiana etc. otherwise nice evening
A great night out on the plaza. Our wait staff was running all night long but managed to provide friendly fast service throughout. The atmosphere was so festive and fun.
Made my dish to order though it was not on the menu. Was amazing linguini and claims, white sauce
The food and service is always great! Plus it’s so nice dining outside in Federal Hill!
This is one of my favorite restaurants! I've never had a bad meal.
