Costa di Mare - Wynn Las Vegas Ratings and Reviews
I was visiting from Florida and I wanted to eat there so much! the place is so beautiful and upscale and very fancy. The food is authentic and very fresh. Our waiter was Luca and he was very kind, funny and took well care of us and my friend's birthday. I love the restaurant.
Everything Steve Wynn does, he does with class and style. This restaurant is no exception. Expect to pay a premium for the atmosphere and the gourmet food, but you get what you pay for. In my opinion, the cost is worth the fine food, great service, and amazing atmosphere. The cabanas outside around the water is where I would want to be, however, inside the restaurant is not bad either. I think the cabanas are more romantic, and the atmosphere outside is far more enjoyable than indoors. If the weather permits, I'd suggest a cabana reservation. There are heaters and fans in the cabanas that extend the outdoor dining, and of course you are covered if it rains. The food quality and presentation is among the best I have experienced in my many years of travel, and I have traveled extensively for decades.
Getting seated by Meaghan, despite our reservation, was an unpleasant experience. After being led to an outdoor table, distant from the nearest heating lamp and with temperatures in the 40’s, she retained her stiff upper lip when we said would be cold and asked for a more comfortable option. We were sent back upstairs and back into the queue to await a new seating assignment, a 30+ minute endeavor in total.
The rest of the wait staff were lovely and the food exceptional as always.
This is our second time eating at this restaurant. I would like to say this time was as good as the first, but the service and some of the food was lacking. The pasta appetizers (ravioli w/sheepsmilk and pappardelle with mushrooms) were amazing. The filet mignon was amazing. The fisherman's stew was flavorful except the pieces of fish in it were sawdust dry and inedible. We didn't get much attention at the table so I could mention it. Water and iced tea were not refilled until the end of the meal. When the waiter collected my plate, I explained that the fish was inedible and he just shrugged. For a $64 dish, I should have gotten more than a shrug. Desserts - tiramisu and variety of sorbets - were terrific. But for the service and the stew, it would have been another great meal at Costa di Mare.
A wonderful seafood menu, but other options for those who do not care for seafood. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We were too full for dessert, but they brought us some sweets regardless which some of us ate despite being extremely full!!! They bake their fish, not grill or pan sear...which I prefer, but very good nonetheless!
The food is simply not that good. Hardly anyone was there when we went on Thursday night. The service is fair at best. Lamb chops came out undercooked..... Fish is very expensive and fair at best. The prime rib at Ellis Island Casino is way better and only 17. Go somewhere else.
Servers were inattentive. Stood around the dining room talking to each other while ignoring customers. I dined there last Saturday evening atv7:00 pm. No one poured our $160 bottle of wine, I did it myself. This is not the kind of restaurant Mr Wynn would dine at. The turbot was way overdone. And not all that hot. I've dined at Sinatra and love it. Never again at this restaurant. For $750.00 for 3 persons this place was underwhelming. I've enjoyed dining at other Wynn restaurants, ex. The Country Club for lunch is always good. Guess that's why Mr Wynn often is there.
This restaurant is very full of itself and yet failed to live up to our expectations. It is also very overpriced (over $300 for 2 of us with a shared appetizer and no dessert.. Incidentally, the appetizer was the best dish.
The menu is very difficult to follow. For instance, they price the whole fish for 2 by the gram, which understandably make it seem more reasonably priced. What the menu does not tell you is the gross weight of each fish. Our whole fish ended up being over $160 and, frankly, was over cooked and my wife had several bones left in.
Our cocktail server didn't know what a Gibson was and when I told him, he kept wanting me to drink Tanqueray or Bombay when I kept repeating that I wanted Plymouth. He had never heard of it even though, as it turns out, the bar actually stocked it.
We have eaten at almost every restaurant at the Wynn, some more than once (Wing Lei and The Country Club to name a couple. They have been almost universally above standard. Costa di Mare was not and I do not recommend that you waste your time or money. If you want fish at the Wynn, go to Lakeside. You'll be much happier.
Felt hemmed in an outside bushy back area with no view of the pool. We sat in a space that would, under most circumstances have been assigned to a bussing station. Will not return due to the uncertainty of not being assigned a better table. If I plan on spending in excess of $500 for two I expect the whole enchilada - great food (got that) great service (exemplary in every way) and great ambiance (better tables at Village Inn)
This is a great restraunt with wonderful seafood options. The pastas are not as great as I️ thought they would be. The prices are outrageous for the amount and quality of food provided. The fact that so much bread is served to get you full at the beginning of the meal does not allow one to enjoy the dinner or desserts.
It was great! All the staff amazing and the food terrific!! It was an engagement surprise and at the reception noticed the note I left at the app and give us a special table, at the end they give us desserts and a couple of sweet wine to celebrate. Definitely I’ll come back in my next visit to Vegas. Congratulations to the restaurant
We were very impressed with the food at Costa do Mare. Everything was delicious and well prepared. However the service was rather inattentive and we had to ask for a menu, water and bread. If Service was equivalent to the food, this would be an amazing restaurant
