My wife and I really enjoyed Sunday brunch here. We hadn't been in a while and decided to make the drive from Jacksonville. Definitely worth it.
Matt was a great server with a great attitude. He hasn't been there long, but he's a good dude.
My wife is a vegetarian who eats eggs. She loved the veggie omelette, hummus and salads. I'm far from a vegetarian, so I liked everything else. Especially the Paella.
The bottomless mimosas made brunch a bargain for us. There were even a variety to choose from. Matt was more than understanding when we thought they were a bit "juicy" and brought some that were more "business."
I gave 4 stars for value because (even though it was good) I don't think the buffet alone justified the price. However, if a mimosa (or three) sounds good to you, you're gonna dig this place.
We enjoyed the bar area but the dining room seating needs work. The food has always been just average and last night it was a bit below average.
The brunch was amazing! The staff was great and the manager was exceptional. It was a good value based on the large selection.
I picked this restaurant because it was our 10 year wedding anniversary and it seemed to be one of the nicer restaurants in St. Augustine. We had a reservation at 7:30 and we waited over 30 minutes and still were not seated. Both hostesses kept telling us we would be seated in 10-15 min everytime we asked how much longer we would wait. We finally practically had beg to be seated and then we were put next to a drafty door. The waitress was nice but very slow and didn’t seem to want to be there. It took about 20 minutes just to get some bread. The restaurant seemed to be short staffed. When we finally got our food, it was ok but not worth the price. The octopus was burnt on the outside and mushy in the inside. It was very disappointing and I would not recommend this restaurant.
Staying at the Casa Monica. Called several times for a table. No answer. Went downstairs - were turned away. Checked online and they had open reservations all night. Booked a table for 7pm. Arrived and was told "We accept a lot of 7pm reservations, but we have several ahead of you. I will mark you as arrived."
Hostess vanished shortly after we had checked in, and many guests came, waited, and left. At 7:45 another hostess came up and started seating people who had 7:30 reservations before us.
We waited 50 minutes beyond our reservation, and still had not been seated. We had plans at 9pm and finally had to leave to try and find a place to eat at prime time on a Saturday night. It ruined our night, and we had to rush to make up lost time.
Very disappointing experience. Menu sounded good, but couldn't even get seated.
Tried to have a quite dinner before the show. However, the noise level in the room was unexpectedly loud. Possibly a few very loud people caused the noise. This was an usual condition. Some people are extremely rude. Meal was good as was the service.
Arrived for our 715pm reservation, told nothing available due to walk ins from hotel ( we were staying at hotel too) Sent to lounge for a wait of maybe 15 to 20 minutes . 30 minutes later we were seated. No atmosphere to restaurant. I’ve been to other Kessler hotel dinning rooms and this was plainest. Food was good but not over the top. We experienced other restaurants during our stay in St Augustine that were far better than this restaurant. The Hotel needs to step up. It’s a fabulous hotel. Staff was good. Manager was serving us????
We had to wait 20min past our reservation, due to staff shortage after the huge Easter brunch, but we had a great experience after that. It was a wonderful meal with great service. A good place to meet with friends.
We went for Easter Brunch. It was outstanding. Food was amazing: Quality food, prepared perfectly, and very flavorful. Staff was friendly, helpful, and attentive. We will definitely be back.
We reserve Easter Brunch each year. Always a great overall experience. This year however, service was lacking a bit; but not anything that would prohibit us from coming again. Costa Brava And Casa Monica are longtime favorites.
Delicious food set in a fabulous atmosphere!
A great way to begin my birthday week
My moms 80th birthday; we had been before and it was just as good. A dining experience.
The steak was over cooked and dry. So many better places to eat at in St Augustine
My companion ordered the octopus (which was listed as an appetizer). For his main course, he ordered the special, different meats and small lamb chops (medium rare). The appetizer AND the main course came out TOGETHER. He said the meats were overcooked.
I had the salmon, which was overcooked, but flavored nicely.
What a disappointment after reading all the hype about this place. BTW, it was almost empty in the dining room, only two other tables occupied.
It's a lovely place, and the bill was reasonable. The food wasn't anything special though.
Service was excellent however the food was lacking. For a fine dining restaurant that serves beef to not have a steak knife is absurd. Wedge salad was very average, crab cake had way too much breading, sea bass was dry and the rib eye was tough. Not impressed.
Súper special date, that night I purposes my girlfriend to marry me
Excelent atention by Josh, he is awesome, he filmed a nosotros cuando le pedí la mano a mi novia, que comida Tan excelente, cuando volvamos a San Agustín es un lugar que vamos a volver definitivamente.
A nice quiet place for an elegant breakfast
A very nice restaurant but the Tappas was a bit pricey for the serving taking advantage of the idea of small servings. The Paella was not crispy and a bit soupy. The overall ambiance was nice and was worth the visit.
The food at the buffet was delicious, the live music was an unexpected bonus and the restaurant is lovely. The only negative is the service was lacking. I believe our server had too many tables and therefore was not able to be as attentive as he should have been. Having said that, we will be back as the positives outweigh the one negative.
Sent back two appetizers that were not acceptable. Octopus and calamari not fresh or even eatable. Rest of meal was ok. Better places in st Augustine to eat than this
Such nice service (Richard), with some god d local advice I asked about.
Wonderful seafood chowder and a great salad. The salad was one of the best with friesche greens and raspberries, croutons, pecans & blue cheese. Two types of great bread and just a super, tasty and healthy meal.
We were in St. Augustine for the weekend and decided to celebrate our anniversary at Costa Brava. Our service was excellent along with the delicious rib eyes, which were cooked to perfection. Would highly recommend this restaurant if you are local to the area or just visiting!
Maybe it was just a busy night, but the service was not as great as I hoped it would be for the price. I felt as if they were rushing us to order and when we did, our tables server/waiter was scarcely around. I had to request another carafe of water from another server. The couple next to us arrived approximately 20 mins after us and ordered their food, but our food came out merely 2-3 mins before theirs did. I get that sometimes the kitchen may get backed up, but some notice would have been appreciated and our steaks came to our table a little cold. When we were done eating, that’s when they really picked up the pace. As soon as I placed my utensils on my plate, they were there to clear my plate and were anxious to get the table cleared as if they were just hovering near us. If I do return to this restaurant, I may try for a different reservation time.
We didnt realize that this was the old 95 Cordova restaurant just renewed. The interior looks nice. The place was not too packed when we arrived at 6:45 pm but later it got busy. Right off the bat the place looked great. The only issue we had was it was our third year anniversary and we put on Open Table to requests a nice quiet table. That wasnt at all what we got. We got a standard table between other parties. The turn off was there was PLENTY of secluded tables. Didnt feel like the restaurant even read the notes! We ordered the Sangria. The Sangria was made with Jim Beam and was honestly the WORST Sangria I have ever had. Try Columbia....much better. I finished it only because of the cost, but woke to a terrible headache. Jim Beam really? Anyway, we ordered some Wagyu Carpaccio and grilled octopus. Both were very good. I ended up doing the Ribeye which was also very good. The total bill was close to $200 and to be frank, not the best meal for the price. Stoll down St George Street to find better for cheaper. Probably a reason we stopped going here years ago. not bad food and good ambiance, just not for the value.
Great experience even though Very busy Valentines day. Martin the server was fantastic, and food wonderful.
Food was excellent & our server Josh was superbly!
Service was great and food delicious. Music was strange
Lamb chop was under cooked but restaurant gave us credit, loved the dessert!
The restaurant was beautiful and the food was amazing. Our server was really nice but wasn’t the caliber we would have expected for the restaurant. Took a while to see wait staff then a few key things were forgotten.
We will try it again and hope for a better experience.
The food was great but our server seemed a little overwhelmed. It was very busy and he may have been new but our overall experience was very nice.
Went with my husband for dinner., while staying at hotel . Tables are very dark you can barely see menu or food. I had the pear salad which was just passable. My husband had the steak and I had the salmon for entrees, they were both good but not exceptional. Service was good.
Great time for my wife’s Birthday. Very special place. New management has reduced prices and have daily specials. A little expensive but well worth the cost.
Beef carpaccio was excellent.
Great customer service.
I would first like to say that the food was very good as was the service. The people that were dining next to us was so loud that we could not even have conversation. The seating that we had was like eating "family style" with strangers sitting right next to your elbow. There is also a lot of noise coming from the lounge area that really takes away from a cozy dining experience.
We arrived a little early for our reservation and were promptly seated. Our server Matt could not have been more cordial and efficient. We had the crab cake & Hunters Plater (assorted meats & cheeses) as appetizers.
We shared an entree comprised of beef filet, chorizo & lamb chops.
Everything was really enjoyable including our wine selection and sangria.
We were greeted by the manager Alex who was very personable- welcoming and accommodating. We really enjoyed our time here- we'll certainly be back again.
Elegant, lovely setting, good food, manager came by table to say hello. Props to our server who went to get us a bar/pub menu when I asked about burgers (dining room is more formal and didn't have burgers on the menu). We specified we were trying to get to a theater performance by 7:30 p.m. and our server ensured we were not running late. The dining room crowd is definitely older and the place is quiet before 7 p.m. After that it livened up with more young people.
