Attentive service by management and wait staff
Very good food and value
Definitely a neighborhood gem
First dinner experience there and I see why everyone likes it so much. First, you are so kindly greeted when you arrive. This really feels like you are welcomed into a home of a neighborhood friend. It was hopping, totally full and busy at the bar, but still, the noise level was fine and it remained very relaxing. Food...superb. Beautiful presentation and stellar service with good recommendations if needed. Three of the party had specials. They all sounded delicious as wonderful additions to an already appealing menu. Two folks had lamb wellington; one had the duck over cassoulet; I had the menu red snapper. Simply divine. I can't imagine any bad choices here. This is a lovely little neighborhood gem and we were greeted and thanked just as warmly upon leaving a delicious and easy evening.
Celebrating a birthday and all in all good experience. One person in party ordered 12 oz ribeye which was rather tough. Not easy to cut with steak knife. They didn’t want to cause a problem by telling management but have had better steaks purchased from local grocer.
Always a pleasure to eat here. The most delicious gazpacho in town.
Fabulous snapper and scallops.
I have always wanted to try this hidden gem! I was not disappointed. Octopus was tender and tasty. Trout was great and so it was the Salmon my wife ordered. Great overall experience. We'll be back soon!
Costa Bravo is our go to tapas restaurant. The dishes and service are always good every time we dine there.
It's a cozy restaurant so make sure you make reservations since it's a packed house.
Another fantastic meal at Costa Brava. We have never been disappointed.
We found what we were looking for: a delicious Spanish flavor. Excellent taste as expected.
The service was attentive. The food was quite good. The shrimp and garlic appetizer and the gazpacho were very enjoyable. I had the Costa Brava version of bouillabase; with mussels, clams and cod. A more delicate broth than you might expect, but quite enjoyable. My wife liked her shrimp and scallops.
I had one small complaint. The selection of sherries available was almost non-existent. Not what you should expect from a Spanish restaurant, but the wine selection was good.
Would recommend it.
Food was cooked to perfection. Not over or under done. Seasoned well. Wine recommendation of the excellent staff was superb. The best over all dining experience in Houston.
Amazing attention to detail. A gem.
I made the reservation to celebrate a friend’s engagement. There were only a couple of parking spaces in the back during peak lunch hour, but there is parking. It’s a small quaint restaurant that’s unassuming from its exterior appearance. Service was phenomenal! Our waiter was attentive, knowledgeable, and kind. Our champagne glasses and water were always refilled the moment we emptied them. We had the escargot and octopus to start. Both of which were delicious, but the escargot and the sauce it comes in was amazing and a must order. We had the lamb, the snapper, and the sea bass. The lamb was tender and well prepared at the perfect temperature. The snapper was ok nothing to rave about. We finished the meal with the chocolate cake which was the right amount of decadence without being overly sweet. Overall a great meal, and wonderful experience. I wouldn’t recommend a casual lunch as the ambiance is more business casual and intimate. I’d recommend everyone to consider costa brava for an occasion.
Convenient free parking, great ambiance, excellent menu choices and service.
One of our favorite and best restaurants in Houston!!!
We showed up on a Saturday night at 7:00 without a reservation. They were booked, so we sat at the bar and were served dinner there. Very attentive service & absolutely delicious meal!
The food and service were exceptional; however it was a little too noisy (in our opinion) for much conversation. We will be back but we'll request a table in the back or corner, in hopes for a quieter experience.
Simply one of The best restaurants in Houston. Find Spanish, not Mexican, food. Well crafted and well thought out.
Spectacular in every respect. They made us feel as though we we family . Food was crazy good.
My wife and I took a friend to Costa Brava for his birthday. The gazpacho was excellent although different from that I have had elsewhere as the vegetables are essentially puréed into the cold tomato base with just a few tiny pieces sprinkled in the middle. My wife had a garlic shrimp appetizer while I ordered the paella. The shrimp were not overcooked and both were quite tasty and good. Costa Brava unfortunately does not allow for split plates, which my wife and I routinely do to keep from overeating and feeling uncomfortable after a meal, so we had to swap plates periodically so we could share all of our orders. We all shared the rice pudding for dessert (served in a single bowl with 3 spoons) and enjoyed it mightily. The wine list is reasonable extensive with a variety of good choices that are not horribly priced.
As a long time customer of CB, I have always loved the ambiance and the service. They remember your preferences, so they knew where I like to sit and which waiter, and which wines I prefer. They had this all ready for me on my arrival. NOW THAT"S SERVICE. And when the owners and staff have a personal relationship with you- that's SPECIAL.
Excellent dinner and atmosphere, staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Early Valentines Day dinner and enjoyed it. Definitely will be returning soon
My first time there! Food was excellent and worth the long drive to get there.
I really enjoyed the food and service. Would stay away on weekends as it was extremely
crowded with very tight seating.
One of our favorite places! Always excellent food and service! It is also quiet, which is a real treat. Duck Confit is heavenly!
Costa Brava has an excellent selection of spanish fare, particularly with excellent seafood and a nice selection of Spanish wines.
Coasta Bravo is a warm , friendly, intimate place with delicious food and caring, attentive service. The paella is my favorite, but everything on the menu that I have tried has been top rate and I also especially like their fish and seafood. The Apple Tarte with homemade ice cream is my desert favorite. The wine list is not extensive but perfectly adequate. This one of my favorite restaurants in Houston.
Birthday dinner. Fabulous, as always. Wonderful food, atmosphere, staff. Will be back.
We always enjoy dining at Costa Brava. Owners are servers are friendly and helpful. Paella is best in Houston.
Always an excellent choice! They will never disappoint you. Took a year for us to realize that we moved within walking distance of the best restaurant in Houston. Wine dinners are excellent!
Always love coming to Costa Bravo. Very homey feeling. Food is AMAZING!
Great neighborhood spot . Wish more young people went. Typically the “Viking cruise” crowd as I call it. Not sure why because the food is terrific and the martinis are the best in town...
Always good. Angel always welcoming. Kitty keeps her kitchen crew sharp.
Everyday dining. It's just consistent, and excellent.
Celebrating granddaughters graduation with Masters @ TX A&M. First visit to Costa Bravo. Delicious food from appetizer to dessert. Lovely, cozy decor. Excellent waiter (Anson ?) who made perfect wine & food recommendations. Delightful manager/owner who visited with us three times. All was top notch. A must-try Bellaire neighborhood cafe. Worth the 30 min drive from Sugar Land.
Excellent restaurant ! Loved it!!
Superb as usual. Every visit includes interesting and well executed entrees and salads (we had paella and a sublime sea bass dish, as well as two salads). We splurged on desserts--chocolate pot de creme and a chocolate bread pudding--which were delicious and not cloyingingly sweet. The wine list always has interesting and reasonable options, and service is professional, discreet and prompt. A real winner!
Great!! Service and staff very professional!
Great food friendly staff.wish chef would visit tables
The restaurant claims to be a mix of French and Spanish food and it's neither. The Galician Octopus was poorly prepared (over cooked) and lacked grain sea salt. The french onion soup had little to no cheese. The fish was well cooked but garnishments were average. I ordered a side risotto and it was undercooked. No refills on anything (even though cost for soda is $4). No real Spanish food on the menu except for 4 items. Limited wine selections. My wife and I have been to authentic Spanish restaurants in the costa brava (north of Spain) and had high expectations which were not met. Will not return
Top notch! Service was sophisticated and discreet. Food was extremely well prepared. A very enjoyable evening!
Service and food excellent, as always, at this neighborhood gem.
