Corrientes Argentine Pizzeria Ratings and Reviews
A pleasant spot for casual dining in the Exchange District of Winnipeg. The décor with its exposed brick walls lend a comforting backdrop to this pizzeria. The service was attentive
and the server was friendly but not obtrusive. When she found out that we were going to the theatre she directed us to the back exit of the restaurant which led almost directly to the theatre itself. A welcome recommendation on a cold Winnipeg evening.
Cozy and warm. Good value and great food. My 2nd time here but both times the service was a little lacking. First time we were waiting on friends to order but waitress forgot all about us for almost 45 minutes after our friends arrived - we had to hail her over finally! This time when I asked for a bottle of wine she failed to bring the glasses! Again we had to get up to ask for glasses after waiting... Other than the service not quite with it I would return because the food is worth it
We went before the symphony on a Saturday night. The place was very full, but we were served in a timely manner. We asked about and would have preferred a half and half pizza, but our choice of toppings were not conducive to this we were told, so ended up with a lot of "take-home". Would go back.
Arrived at 7:30 per our open table reservation and quickly seated. Sat in the back as we were a group of eight. Found out as the night went on that it was very hot in the back with little air movement.
Waitress seemed good to start but then she struggled to open our bottle of wine and had to ask for help. Then she simply poured us a full glass without asking for a taste first. She needs some basic training guys!!!
Bruschetta was our appetizer but not really that good as it was simply cherry tomatoes cut in half in a bit of olive oil on semi toasted bread. Not much flavour!!
Steve B pizza was ok but not as good as our first visit
Suddenly we were getting asked if we wanted any more drinks or dessert as the place was closing soon!! Wait it's only 9 pm!!
Yes that's right folks it's a pizza place on a Friday night at 9 pm and that's when they close.
So kinda got shoved out at last min.
Needless to say I do t think we will return.
We eat here often and slowly we are introducing our friends and colleagues to this simple approach to eating (salads, pizza, empanadas). The service is attentive and friendly...servers really seem to be happy you are dining there. The quality of food is excellent!
It had been quite a while since we last visited Corrientes, but we'll certainly be back soon. The empanadas were amazing - filled to bursting with ingredients and tasty as could be. The pizza was also excellent - if I think hard enough, I can still taste the Summertime pizza - so delicious!
I have been here before in the past and it was amazing, this time not so much. Salad was lacking of ingredients and dressing, pork Cuban melt was no other words to describe it but as gross. Had an empanada and it was quite good. Overall the experience was really disappointing.
The atmosphere is fantastic and the food never disappoints. The staff are friendly and attentive and you are treated the same whether you are going in for a quick coffee and dessert or in for the evening. The place is a gem and there are not many out there with their consistency.
Normally I would have given this restaurant 5 stars but this time was a little disappointed. The service was great. The ambiance was fine. The outdoor seating area looked very popular. I always like this restaurant for the unique pizza's and especially love the Steve B's Pizza. I have had this pizza many times and each time it has been fabulous. This time not so much. The pizza crust was burnt on one side and the topping was burnt (just slightly burned) but it definitely changed the taste. And the amount of peanut butter that was used was over the top. It made the pizza mushy and the subtle peanut butter taste was now overwhelming. And hard to handle being so soggy. We brought it to the attention of the server and the discussion was I guess it is not burned too bad....and I guess we can try and get past the burned taste. Bad on us!!! And Bad on the server!!! They must have someone new in the kitchen!! This was unacceptable and we should never have stood for it. We were on our lunch hour and time was critical and knew that we couldn't get another pizza made at still get back to work on time. So all three of us decided to suck it up and eat it. I now have 2 friends (whom I had invited to come and try the pizza) who will never go there and nor will they recommend the restaurant. Is such a shame! My husband and I love this restaurant and out of the 10 or 15 times we have been there we have never been disappointed. This time was an exception and I will think twice next time. :( :( :(
I ordered a beef melt, I am sure the the meat was luncheon meat despite the server assuring me it was beef roasted and sliced in house. Looked, smelled and tasted like deli beef. My husband's smoked salmon pizza had teeny, sparse pieces of smoked salmon. Said it came with arugula pesto, in fact it was just baby arugula sprinkled over the top. Seemed like they assumed their diners would not know what pesto really was.
The desserts were fabulous - would return again for dessert and coffee.
Had 3 servers over the course of a 90 minute visit.
Excellent fresh salads. Great oven baked high quality pizzas! Argentinian empanadas their specialty also. All food is fresh and staff very friendly if sometimes overloaded as a busy place. Nice casual resto in Winnipeg's historic Exchange District (much like Chicago's Revival Style area but bigger and nicer...)
