Steak
Owing to the success of the Cornstore Wine Bar & Restaurant Cork, a sister restaurant was opened in Limerick in November 2008, situated on the newly refurbished and pedestrianised street, Thomas Street.

The concepts boasts 3 floors offering a lively, buzzy, Manhattan style surrounding, including private dining and contemporary heated smoking area. The interior is mirrored to match the stylish elegance of its sister restaurant in Cork with intricate floor tiling, pewter style bar, cosy booths and intimate lighting.

Like Cork, the menu consists of premium steaks and quality seafood, an extensive drinks list with cocktails, new world beers and a vast wine list.
Both Cornstore buildings were selected because of their historic presence and the belief that the old and new can be successfully combined to create an old style feel with a modern ambiance.

Had a gorgeous meal in the cornstore Limerick! Had goat's cheese crostini for a starter, the rib eye steak for a main and the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. All gorgeous 👌

Food and cocktails were outstanding as usual! We always eat here one night
when staying in Limerick and we were delighted once again. Highlights this visit were the Goats cheese starter and the duck dish. We will be back next time!

While waiting staff and the food were definitely to standard, the noise upstairs from the radio being played in the kitchen ruined the ambiance slightly.

Superb meal. Pizza was my least favourite hence the 4 stars instead of 5. The steak was the nicest steak my husband has ever had, cooked to perfection and top quality. Starter of scallops and risotto was beautiful. The Pinot Grigio was ok - very acidic. Great staff, very attentive but not overbearing. We'll be returning.

Food was flawless and so was service.
It’s expensive but seen as everything was perfect, we didn’t mind too much.

Music too loud for a restaurant when people are more likely wanting to talk and hear each other. Kept waiting on second glass of wine and it wasn't as full as the first when it arrived.

Very well organised. Food was fab as always.Felt a little rushed in the end but understandable with the current restrictions. Music was turned up at one stage which made it hard to hear each other. Overall very impressed i just wouldn't get a 3 course and enjoy it in the time given.

Food, atmosphere was very good my only criticism is the toilets should be kept cleaner especially with the current situation

Staff were fantastic very welcoming and couldn't do enough, very fast service. The food was delicious but I felt slightly over priced.

Felt very rushed, had the table from 6.16 to 7.45,not really enough time, not the restaurants fault as they have reduced capacity and it was Saturday night,i wouldn't go back until normality returns as its too expensive in there to feel rushed...

Amazing food in a beautiful setting. The decor is fabulous, the staff were so efficient and the Covid modifications were subtly effective. The cocktail menu was another highlight- divine :)

Food was to the usual high standards we have experienced over the years at the restaurant. Both starters were delicious, presentation excellent and served at the perfect temperature. Everything was very fresh and served straight from the kitchen. The prawn pil pil still simmering in their skillet as they arrived to the table. Both fillet mains were cooked to perfection at both medium rare and medium. The accompanying sauces were delicious. We ordered three sides, very necessary as the steaks had no accompanying sides. This increases the meal price significantly. We shared a delicious sticky toffee pudding for dessert and enjoyed a bottle of medium priced Shiraz at €29. Total bill came in at just under €120 excluding tip. The staff, while well trained and mannerly when greeting and acknowledging departing guests, seemed impersonal and disconnected. Perhaps this is a feature of a busy restaurant where much of the clientele aren’t frequent visitors. However, in the current economy this seems strange as it’s important the customer experience is a little more memorable. Another strange feature was the lack of consistency in the style of face coverings worn by staff members. A consistent approach such as a visor style issued to all staff would deliver a far stronger image on the restaurant’s approach to measures to contain COVID-19.

An emphasis on Tapas type food would be clever as people are now going to 2-3 restaurants a night to make a night of it and it’s hard then not to eat too much food for want of a few drinks

Social distance was at a premium. Noise level was almost unbearable at times. One of our salads had an olive stone in it. Coffee was served cold. Our waitress was very good.

Well done to everyone at the cornstore, you have done an amazing job of keeping the Cornstore atmosphere and welcome on a safe way for your staff and customers... the food and welcome was great... I missed the chicken wings and they were every bit as good as I remember and expected pre lock down.. can’t wait to be back again!
