Corner Table Ratings and Reviews
This is our second time at Corner Table, and second time for the tasting menu. The menu included 11 courses and you could opt for wine pairings for an additional charge. The meal was outstanding, one of the top 5 of our lives (my wife and I). The portions were proper, just right for a tasting menu, and each was wonderful. Our previous experience with the tasting menu was when it had 7 courses, and I think 7-9 courses is about right. One really needs to be sure that you skip lunch and afternoon snacks if you are going to do this, as eleven of anything is a lot, no matter how small the portions. We spent just over 4 hours, which is wonderful, and we would highly recommend this experience to everyone.
My boyfriend and I tried out Corner Table for the first time as an early Valentine’s Day date. We were nothing less than blown away, the service was wonderful! We did the 11 course tasting menu, every bite was amazing. I would definitely recommend for anyone looking to have a perfect dining experience.
My first time at Corner Table. We sat at the end of the bar overlooking the kitchen.
Brent was our server. Everything we had was amazing. He had great recommendations!
Spectacular dining event. Can’t wait to go back.
The cheddar biscuits are so naughty. But so delicious.
Exceptional!! Fabulous! I celebrated my birthday at Corner Table with my husband and best friends and from the moment we walked in until the last goodbyes from the staff, everything was perfect! Our waitress was warm, kind, funny, and knowledgeable! The food was unforgettable and the ambiance just right! Thank you for making my birthday dinner celebration exceptional!!!
Overall, disappointed with the quality and service, but a fine restaurant. We had not been to corner table in a few years and used to love it, so we decided to try it again. We tried 6 different items from the prix fix menu. Some were very good, some pretty bad. The pork belly was very flavorful, but was a huge portion. The pappardelle was very good, great flavor. The rest was OK. The salad was just a few pieces of Bibb lettuce drenched in dressing. The service was poor. We waited to be seated despite having a reservation. We sat about 10 minutes with an empty glass of wine before the server noticed us. The server did not know the menus--wine or food.
Overall it's not a terrible restaurant, it just didn't compete with any of the great restaurants in its price range and location. We won't be back anytime soon.
Although they have changed their menu pretty significantly this year (there are no al a carte options, just a 3 course to 10 course meal), the food was still excellent. We opted for the 10 course "Feed the Sh*T out of Me" option without the wine pairings. It was a pricey, but wonderfully indulgent wat to celebrate my wife's birthday.
I really wanted to love Corner Table. I hadn't eaten there since they moved into the new location. It was my birthday, but it felt unremarkable. We ate from the 3 course dinner. The main courses were quite good, but the burnt popovers and burnt squash fritter with the odd pumpkin custard were disappointing. I think they didn't change out their frying oil. The delicately prepared (and small portioned) and plated 3 course dinner was overwhelmed by the huge, cheesy biscuits---which we ordered because it was "their speciality." Then, hoping for more, we ordered the dessert "special," the long john...which wasn't delivered for such a long time that we just asked for the check. (We were given the donut gratis to-go). It was also so HOT. For that much $, I expect more---integration of courses, side dishes...and mostly service. (sigh)
This restaurant clearly has a niche in providing a comfortable, well thought out menu, though it recently changed to a prix fixe only format. Most of the dishes are well executed, and the service is attentive. The music was strangely too contemporary & upbeat for the crowd and ambiance. In a twist, we were slightly put off by the speed at which our food was delivered (surprisingly too fast) which meant our "date night" dinner was over in just over 60 minutes. With a bill that climbed to $150 +, this seemed wrong, as did the casual lumberjack attire worn by the hostess. Most restaurants in this price range have people dressing up for their date night, so having the staff look decent would be an appropriate sign of respect.
My wife and I have gone to Corner Table three years in a row for NYE. The new chef is so thoughtful with flavor and presentation. Can't wait for next year.
I will say that it was 80 degrees in the restaurant and probably could've benefitted by using some humidifiers. It was really cold outside that day, but still.
I made reservations for the New Years Eve tasting menu. We were immediately put off of the service when the hostess didn’t offer to take our coats but rather pointed to a rack in the (unheated) entry to leave them in. From there we found the food to be average at best. We expected it to be more basic due to the nature of it being an event tasting menu but you could tell the chefs really mailed it in and had no thought in the food. We chose to do the wine pairing and the server never told us what brand/region we were getting- just “here is a rose.” Next, timing was off- we are typically quick eaters but we kept having multiple plates and glasses on the table- it seemed as though there was no communication between the front and back of the house. Finally, as we left (and my boyfriend grabbed our coats from outside) we cracked a couple of jokes about our coats being outside - the person that seemed like a manager or sommelier explained to us that we shouldn’t expect a lot as this used to be a kfc. I should note though that our server was very pleasant- but the overall service of the restaurant was sub par.
