Corner Stable - Cockeysville Ratings and Reviews
The ribs are always awesome, so is the crabcake on a pretzel bun, and the 2 fried chicken breast dinner that could feed about 6 people. Not so awesome: broccoli as a side was cold and water logged, a Cosmopolitan made with what tasted like peach schnapps, and the terribly slow service. The interior is dying for an update. Stick to beer and bar food, don't expect fancy and don't be in a rush. Still one of our regular stops.
The food was good, but not outstanding. The prices seemed slightly high given the portions and quality -- just a few bucks higher than each entree was worth. Friendly environment. Good for families. Worth trying once, but will probably go elsewhere next time.
I absolutely love this place! Been going there for more than 30 years, driving all the way from Westminster, MD. It's my go to place for ribs. I always get the texas style. The spicy sauce is so good. I always try to bring my out of town guest here for lunch or dinner, and they always love it.
The menu here is eclectic but well thought out. Where I found it to be lacking was in consistency. The shrimp and ribs offered hot out of the fryer shrimp with lukewarm ribs. The sides also were lukewarm. My companion had a broiled crab cake which had a cool center. Her better than average mac and cheese and stewed tomatoes were also lukewarm. Pricing seemed high with three dinners with three alcoholic beverages coming to $125 before gratuity. I'd try here again but only for sandwiches.
Been a while since last visit but pleased to see that little had changed. Popular for pub grub especially crab cakes and ribs. All four of us "old guys" had a mixture of both. Parking is a bit of a challenge but overflow is close by. We dined on Wed evening and two of us had the crab cake platter special which was tasty. Others had the crab cake and ribs dish that they loved. Very casual dining in relaxed atmosphere--just what we were looking for. Server Tyler was a treat and did a great job throughout the evening. Very pleasant and professional. Fun night out with friends.
Great food, as always. We had Blackened Mahi Mahi & Pulled Chicken dinners. Always crowded, a little bit cramped, but always fantastic food. This is why people always come back. Extensive menu, will suit anyone's taste. Service was very good even though it was crowded. Can't miss with this place.
The food was solid as always - the table ordered a mx of ribs, salmon, pulled pork. HOWEVER, we went at 8:30pm on a Wednesday and the service was dismal. There were maybe 8 tables filled in the whole restaurant. We did not get food until 9:11 pm. Other tables around us were being served. Unacceptable! We had even mentioned to our out of town guests that this place was great and we could get in and out in 35 minutes because service is always fast. You proved us wrong.
We have always loved this restaurant for their food and service. Yesterday we enjoyed their crab cake special dinners which were, as always, excellent. To our dismay, another customer in a nearby booth thought that it was appropriate to remove her shoes and rest her bare feet on the seat opposite her. This may be thought to be acceptable in her home, but we did not think it to be acceptable in a public restaurant. We mentioned this to our waitress (who is always excellent) as well as to the hostess. They both agreed that what that customer did was distasteful to them as well, but.............. The customer with the bare feet on the opposite seat was apparently a frequent one and does that all the time. We asked whether "management" has ever said anything to her about this and were told that "management" did not want to "make waves" with a regular customer. We understand that the Corner Stable is not a "fancy shmancy" restaurant, but we still expect their management to uphold reasonable standards of decency. If they continue to allow their customers to act like slobs, they will only attract more people like that. We hope that the Corner Stable management can find it within themselves to address and correct such situations immediately, thereby ensuring that your other regular customers will not be subject to such inconsiderate (and unhealthy) behavior in the future.
Your crab cakes are still FANTASTIC!
It's an annual event for us to drive up from Annapolis and meet friends at the Corner Stable for the melt-in-your mouth ribs. I get the regular BBQ sauce and my husband gets the South Carolina Mustard sauce. Getting a bit pricey now, but they never fail to please.
