I am sorry to say this neighborhood gem has fallen on hard times. The portions are smaller and less tasty. The prix fixe is no bargain. The wine prices are high. I understand they are suffering from a rent raise like everyone but I (who used to be a dedicated customer) will not be back.
Food is delicious and service great. So a cute, cozy Village spot. One of my favs for brunch.
Lovely place, accurate and empathic service. Loved it
The restaurant is small space on first floor with doors opening into sidewalk dining. Three jazz groups each evening make this West Village site a unique jewel. Will come back when time
permits enjoying the jazz. Food was truly excellent with high quality ingredients prepared with
care - and pride!
What a lovely place! So sweet and quaint 💕 We sat outside right on the sidewalk watching the city around us. The food was very good! The orecchiette pasta with cremini & portobello mushrooms and truffle oil was amazing!!! This was a return trip as it is they very first place we met on our first date nearly 7 years ago 💕😍
The new chef had just introduced a first quinoa based special entree, which two of our party ordered and found delicious. I myself had the Thai bouillabaisse, which was excellent. Our server was extremely attentive and responsive. Cornelia St. is both a local gem and worth the drive!
Our neighborhood go to! We love Cornelia Street. There is always a friendly face to greet you and the food is delish. Great sandwiches and wonderful for brunch all day. There is a friendly, lively bar and poetry readings or music downstairs. A local favorite!
The Cornelia Street Café remains my favorite restaurant in New York. The salmon that I had last night was extraordinary, the drinks are great, and everyone who works there is friendly and attentive. We went to celebrate a birthday, and everything about the restaurant made it a delightful occasion. All hail Cornelia Street Café!
A wonderful NYC classic with solid food and a great atmosphere. Not fancy, but very comfortable.
Convienent to hotel and open late good burgers wine
Food and service were excellent, as always! This has become our go-to place for pre and post theater dining in the Village. Special cocktails are always fun, and the daily food specials are creative and delicious. Highly recommended!!
The food was good but the menu is limited.
The worst part of the dinner was the prohibitive heat. The window and doors were open and it was hot and humid.
Not a comfortable environment
A good vibe and GV staple. The food is prepared well and the waitstaff friendly and inviting. Always have a good time.
Absolutely fabulous meal! Had the salmon which was spectacular. Friendly and attentive waitstaff and right in the middle of a fantastic neighborhood. Will definitely go back.
Although I really enjoy this restaurant I never got credit for the visit (on open table). They said that I made two reservations and cancelled one but as it turned out I didn't get credit at all. I wrote to Opentable but they never responded and the restaurant said it wasn't their problem. A little discouraging.
Love this place! Food was delicious and spot on. Also, it's nice that there is something for everyone on the menu. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. A truly delightful evening!
The service was good except there was an annoying elderly gentleman who was recommending wine. A little too forward and trying to be funny and he wasn't. We just wanted a glass of wine. We didn't need all that fuss.
It's a limited menu but the food is very good. Service was attentive and not pushy. Calamari was tasty and the steak au poivre was very good and cooked perfectly.
We'd been to this venue for music before but this was our first meal there. Bright, lively spot for a Sunday brunch but not too noisy that we couldn't hear our companions. Food and service were excellent.
Cornelia Street Cafe is a neighborhood gem. The food is delicious and the atmosphere so cozy. I'd absolutely recommend and will certainly return.
Our server was wonderful. She understood me not ordering wine after giving me a sample. I changed my mind, and she did not make me feel guilty about taking the sample.
Pleasant, friendly staff, delicious food, inventive wine choices by the glass. Intermittently loud depending on the crowd
No vegetarian dinner options - but great brunch options!
Delicious, quick, great atmosphere
Great service great food Great atmosphere in the village! Downstairs live jazz show after dinner was the perfect ending!
Maybe I expected more due to the great online reviews, but I was a bit underwhelmed. Very crowded and noisy for a Tuesday night. Waitstaff was friendly but the music was insanely loud (I think one of the speakers was directly above us; I should also clarify we were upstairs, this wasn't the live music, just throbbing techno pop) and I had to shout to be heard by my friend. Each time the waiter attended to the table next to us, it felt like I was having a conversation with his right butt cheek. Overall just really uncomfortably loud and crowded.
Food was good but nothing out of the ordinary. May be a "vibrant hot spot" but not worth the money if you're looking for good food, leisurely dining & quiet conversation .
My friend and I sat outside on the first warm night in the city. The service was good - food was good and tasty but not exceptional. The pricing was fine and average for NYC. The key lime pie was excellent.
Met a friend for lunch and we sat talking for a long time. We were never hurried along or encouraged to finish up. Food was fresh and delicious.
A cultural institution in the basement (we ended our evening with a jazz show, one of the bargains of NYC), attentive and friendly staff, wonderful pasta, and you don't have to make too many decisions when ordering wine with their wonderful wine flights (any 3 wines for $15!!!)
Love this place, will be back as often as possible.
Cornelia Street is a great place to meet friends, - we've come several times with out-of -town friends and enjoy not only the food, but having an opportunity to actually chat, because the noise level does not deter conversation. Our waitress was very friendly and accomodating (even had the air conditioner put on when we felt warm). She recommended a perfect bourbon cocktail! I love this place.
Lovely table at the window along with a very delicious BLT. Perfect spot for lunch before heading to the Whitney.
The Cornelia Street Cafe is indeed a neighborhood gem--and be prepared for tour groups visiting during the daytime (they're unobtrusive to diners). During the last visit, I had a portobello kale sweet onion quiche, that melted in my mouth--a generous portion, and perhaps the best quiche I've ever had. The servers are all great, but Maria is exceptional. It's just a warm, wonderful place with great food, and entertainment downstairs in the evenings.
A great spot for a traditional, no-frills breakfast. Solid food at an unbeatable price.
I love this restaurant! There's nothing you can order that isn't fabulous---from appetizers to dessert. And their espresso is fabulous---one of my criteria for a wonderful meal
Had a long visit with friends that I barely see last week. It started as breakfast and turned into afternoon drinks. The food was great and the vibe was really laid back. Would love to come back when there's some music playing downstairs.
Average quality. Very small portions. We had their 'specialty' house burgers .. vegi (mushroom only) and meat (a bit salty). Came with a small salad and small fresh fry. Just, similar to run of the mill local burger- joints only very tiny portion. We not fussy eaters, but left hungry...only to stop at a local deli for desert
Warm and comfortable. Very friendly, attentive staff. Great brunch and dinner menus, delicious but affordable food. Wine list has some extraordinary values on it; beer selections are smart and varied. We had a wonderful lunch before seeing a wonderful show downstairs.
This is a tried and true. You can almost be guaranteed a good meal and good service. I've been going there for years.
Amazing atmosphere. True NYC village experience.
