My wife and I were recommended by a friend who had hear about Corked. After being greeted by a hostess who wasn’t interested in being there, we were taken to our table where the seat back cushion was torn. The place was nearly empty, so it’s interesting they sat us at the table with the torn cushion. We ordered drinks and they were watered down. The appetizer was good. The steak was decent. My wife ordered a steak with lump crab meat, but they were out of crab meat so they substituted a crab cake. The crab cake was undercooked. I tried a bite of her crab cake just to be sure, and felt a crunch—- shells. She cut it open and the shells were visible. However, our waitress was very nice. We ordered 1 drink each, an appetizer, and 2 entrees. After spending over $100 on a bad meal, I can understand why the place was so empty.
Truthfully I was nervous about going after reading reviews on here and on Google. So glad we decided to go, everything was delicious and service was great. Will definitely be back
My wife and I celebrated our 30th anniversary. Food and service was fantastic. Definitely will return. Gem of Bethlehem.
Great food as always!! Options are ideal everyone had an awesome meal!!
We had a very nice evening of sharing a few small plates along with a bottle of wine. Our waiter was awesome and our table next to the open windows provided a great seating location for the night.
The once trendy and bustling restaurant was almost empty when others in the area were packed. The food was decent. Recently changed menu is not on trend. Very basic
The hostess was a little unfriendly when we walked in like she did not want to be bothered to even say hello. However when we left she stopped a conversation she was having with a coworker to say goodbye seemed happy to see us leave. The servers we had were both very sweet and friendly but the food was not the best. The beet salad was good but everything else reminded me of something you could get a pizza place for half the price. We were giving the restaurant one last shot from a group dinner we had that went so bad that they gave us a $50 gift certificate. Unfortunately won’t be returning.
Everything was great! Loved the food!
The food was excellent as was the service.
Corked has been our go to place for about 4 years. My husband and I come to Bethlehem at least once a year to shop and always go to Corked. Sometimes stay at the Bethlehem hotel. Always enjoy the food and drinks at Corked. Have seen the menu change. The first dinner we had was outstanding in taste and appearance. The menu and the meals are tasty. But don't seem to have the same pizzazz. Same great atmophere. Will continue to go there.
Pretty good dinner and ambiance. Steak was a little over done . Otherwise a good time !
Never disappointed at Corked. Food is wonderful and service was great. When it is very crowded it can be a bit noisy. Had a nice night.
Unfortunately, Corked has slipped considerably from its previous days. In the past, there was an extensive menu of creative, well put together dishes. Now, it's a limited menu with low quality food, expensive for what you get. Steaks include a 6 oz filet or a rib-eye. Rib eye was cheap cut of beef, high gristle ($29). Seafood combo included 4 oz overcooked, dry salmon with 4 very small, overcooked and rubbery sea scallops and 4 overcooked, small shrimp in a buttery sauce. All meals were supposed to come with tomato rice dish, and none did (stated they were out of rice because they didn't buy enough for the week??, and no other starch substituted). Used to have about 100 bottles of wine all available be either bottle or glass. Now, there is a pathetic list of cheap wines, with a 300% markup (only Cab is a Clos du Bois; Chardonnay is either Cupcake or Chateau St.Michelle). Felt sorry for Manager who seems personable and eager to try to make things better, but given the number of excellent restaurants in Bethlehem, we have no desire to go back to this mediocre establishment.
This was my first time at corked and they did not disappoint me. The food was excellent and service was great. Will def visit again.
Our second visit and once again had excellent service and very good food. Nice drinks too. Enjoyed the white sangria. Just wish it was easier to party in town
Service was excellent from Salvador..food was good but seafood a bit overcooked..would definitely return as the overall quality and options are better than most places with excellent attention and service.
My only complaint is the music was way too loud! We asked to have it turned down and they did and then another group came in and left because it was still too loud. You could hardly hear each other when talking across the dining table.
“Musik fest” completely altered the environment and even the menu, drinks served in plastic cups, loud/club type dancing music at 8 o’clock. Overall not a pleasant experience. Should make customers aware of this altered environment clearly so that it does not come as a surprise. Would have never gone if the circumstances were known ahead of time.
Corked shouldn’t be in the service business. It shouldn’t be in business, period.
We had a reservation for 4 people on Wednesday, July 31 at 7 pm. A birthday dinner, no less. We received reminders from Open Table the day before. Just got a follow up today asking for our experience.
Frankly, it was one of the rudest and worst experiences ever. We arrived on time at 7 p.m. The restaurant was dark, doors locked, no sign on the front door or any explanation. No notification from anyone about the closing or status of our reservation. No answer on the phone. Another couple was standing outside the place looking perplexed as well.
We ended up finding another place to eat — the dining room at The Hotel Bethlehem — which was accommodating and a pleasant experience.
We tried following up with Corked the next day to find out what happened. Did they close unexpectedly? Was there a health dept. issue? A fire? Did the owner die? No answer on the phone and no voice mail message.
I followed up today when prompted by Open Table about our experience. A woman answered the phone, saying the staff had been advised last Tuesday the restaurant would be closed for Music Fest. Well, the festival didn’t start until Thursday, Aug. 1 as far as I know. In any event, the closing wasn’t so sudden that Corked couldn’t have notified its patrons in advance. At the very least they could have put a sign in the window defending their actions. The better thing would have been to honor their obligations.
I guess honor and commitment and dedication to service must be dead when a restaurant thinks it can treat its customers like this. No need for them to give it a second thought about my reservation, though, because this person is no longer a customer.
Any restaurant that has NO regard for its customers shouldn’t be in business. I am so thoroughly disgusted with the lack of professionalism by Corked that I’m compelled to share this post. My advice to others is to proceed at your own risk.
I am basing my review on past experience. When I went there on Wednesday for my reservation the doors were locked. I then tried calling - no answer. It was rather embarrassing as my guests were from out of the country. At least I wasn't the only one impacted by this closure. Another person came around 5 minutes later to find the doors locked too. Ended up eating elsewhere on Main Street. Curious as to what happened.
Great food. Too cool in spot where we were.
Great food and great service. Very enjoyable night out. Their short rib ravioli is just fantastic.
My server was okay he wasn’t attentive enough. Then the manager tried not to honor the discount that was posted online because it was slow inside. The food was not tasty at all. Overall I was not satisfied for my first experience. I will not be going back or recommending this place.
Think this restaurant needs to decide if they want to be a restaurant or night club. Service was slow and staff was breaking down tables around us to set up for nightclub. Almost felt like being pushed out but yet took 20 minutes to even get dessert and checks
Not what it use to be. Probably won't be back. A lot of competition in the area that, quite frankly, are much better options. It's sad, as Corked used to be much better.
Food was OK. Sent first order of calamari back, dry and chewy-thick, likely over fried. Replacement just slightly better. Whipped cream on desert was melted and runny. Filet mignon was done well. Brandied scallops, just so-so. Web site gives impression of fine dining and warns of dress code, but it is not enforced by staff - patrons served wearing everyday T-shirts and shorts .
Great food and great atmosphere outside. The inside is a bit stuffy and night club atmosphere. If your looking for good food and great atmosphere then sit outside on a nice evening.
Besides our table being very wobbly and seeing napkins under most of the tables attempting to fix it, everything was great.
The bruschetta was delicious. My shrimp and scallops pasta and my husbands chicken parm were both delicious! And our waitress was super nice!
Will definitely be back!
Short rib ravioli and short rib pizza were both delicious!
It was our son’s birthday. We had a great dinner! Food was delicious!
Our first visit to Corked and will definitely be returning. Nice selection of appetizers and can get anything from a sandwich, pizza or a full dinner. Large bar area looked nice and nice dining area with comfy booths.
Took a friend out for her birthday. The food (we both had the truffle burger) was absolutely delicious!! Drinks were good, our waiter was a delight. BUT the hostess was another story. She seemed irritated that we were there and actually argued with me about the amount of people in my reservation. She said I had reserved a table for four, it was for 2 (I double checked my reservation to make sure I hadn't made a mistake, no it was for two) never cracked even a hint of a smile. But the burgers.....oh those burgers!!!!!!
Nicely quiet for 6 o'clock reservations. Food and drink were absolutely amazing. The had chicken parmigiana and I had scallops. The service was above and beyond. We'll be back.
I have to say the food was not very good. The filet mignon had no seasoning and was not cooked evenly. My husband had the blackened salmon and only hate half. He loves salmon. Disappointing.
Over cooked and chewy lamb chops. Cold chicken in salad. Drink wasn’t very good at all :(
Told our server we were on a tight time schedule (needed to finish up by 4:30 pm) but he completely ignored our request to serve the meal in time to allow our departure as requested.
Instead, the meal arrived at 4:30 (the time we needed to leave) so we had to eat very quickly and make our exit in order to get to our appointment.
Service was great, food was great , all around great experience
Thank you for helping us celebrate! Excellent service.
