About Cork Tree Restaurant
Cork Tree Restaurant is built around California products. Local ingredients are used whenever possible and wines of the West Coast, particularly California, are featured.
The wine list is always a work in progress, with a balance of well known wineries, as well as boutique wineries.
Cork Tree enhabits a style rich in California elegance. Large and round booths privately encased in wood and fabric provide intimate spaces for conversation and romance, while providing views of the understated glamor of the dining room. Trees and a natural cascading fountain make the Cork Tree Patio wind-protected and well-appointed for dining under the stars. Additionally, depending on the size of your celebration, two private dining options await.

Cork Tree Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
Everything was wonderful! We have dined there many times when we visit Palm Desert and have always been pleased.
The Pork shank was outstanding! The sea bass was excellent, too, but it could have used a bit more flavoring.
Ross was our waiter and he was hospitable and attentive. Such a nice guy!
We enjoyed a lovely evening with attentive service and delicious food. The menu has seasonal specials which we like. Currently the beet and date salad is great. The restaurant has a lively but not overwhelming atmosphere. We always dine at Cork Tree when we visit the desert.
We had a wonderful dinner to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Arrived a bit early and had time for a pre-dinner cocktail at the bar, which was lovely.
The hosting staff readied a very nice table, our servers were outstanding and very knowledgeable about the menu, with great recommendations. Food was outstanding; highly recommend the beet salad appetizer and the scallops, but there are many more items I’d love to try.
The restaurant strikes just the right balance between outstanding, polished service with a warm, welcoming attitude. We look forward to returning!
Had dinner with my daughter here. We both started with the caesar salad which, if you like, can come with anchovies. Very good salad. Daughter had the NY Strip, which was probably 14-16 ounces and cooked perfectly and had very little fat or gristle. Not quite the flavor/quality of the top steak houses and at $48, a bit expensive, but it comes with fries. I had the cioppino which was hot and had a bit of kick. Small lobster tail, 3 shrimp, one scallop, two each clams and mussels and some fish. I think it was also supposed to have crab but I did not find any. Meal was very good.
Service was good, no problems getting refills on water. This is a very nice restaurant and with the $10 off per entree coupon I found on-line, it was a decent value. Worth checking out.
After coming to the desert for many years, and having had Cork Tree recommended to us by several trusted friends, we finally booked a table. Our meal -and the total experience lived- easily up to all expectations. The food was excellent, and the service was impeccable. For most people this isn't an 'everyday' restaurant, but for special occasions, I can think of few places I would rather go when in the Palm Desert area. Highly recommended.
Celebrated my sister-in-law's birthday. We were all delighted with our dinner. Marilyn and I had the crab-horseradish crusted salmon and my husband had the scallops. Very nice birthday treat for Marilyn. Our desserts were delicious as well. Plates were visually beautiful to behold, real artistry. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. We will look forward to returning soon.
We have lived in the Valley forever and have passed this restaurant at least once a week. Never dreamed it would be as fabulous as it turned out to be. I thought it was one of the many in our area that had no ambience and high prices. I was so mistaken. Our meal was great and the atmosphere was lovely.
I can't wait to go back.
Our waiter Joshua had only been with the restaurant for a very short time but we would have never know . He was knowledgeable about the menu and helped us pick the right entree. Food was delicious and came out in a timely manner.
The only thing that surprised us is that the wait staff did not fill our wine glasses or water glasses when they got low. This would not keep us from going back. We might even go tonight.
All wonderful...again! With good friends...quiet booth...friendly greeting, great food and good service...who could wish for more? We went often when we lived in Palm Desert and always return from Palm Springs when it is closer for friends there...NEVER disappointed...LOVE IT (wish it were closer to Palm Springs!)
We liked it so much were going back again. The servers are top quality— not overbearing. The food was good start to finish the trio of demitasse soups was a delight. My friend got scallops that got raves. I had ahi tuna which was perfect with a wasabi sauce and greens. You can’t go wrong at this place.
We love this restaurant and are happy to see that it has lasted. so many are out of business when we return to the desert in October. We will be back for more fine food. Had a hard time making a reservation through open table so were worried that they were not still open.
We have gone to Cork Tree since it opened. The staff if really special. This occasion, they must have changed the chief. I usually have rack of lamb. This time the chief put some sauce (?) on my lamb and with some kind of rice which was terrible. I never complain about my food but had to send it back. Next time, I will read the menu very carefully and tell the chief how I wanted my lamb served. We will go again because the entire staff was superb.
We were celebrating our 58th anniversary.
Wait staff was very good, particularly food servers.
Caeser salad was unusual but good. Except for the romaine, the ingredients were not "classic".
The beet salad was edible but not fresh tasting.
One of our dinners went mostly untouched. The other was satisfactory.
The objectionable main course was a duck breast with roasted brussels sprouts, mushroom risotto and an indistinguishable sauce. Though the duck was cooked to order, it was very fatty and difficult to cut on the skinny rectangular plates. The risotto tasted "leftover," no creaminess, and it tasted "moldy."
The waitress inquired about how I liked the risotto and I told her I didn't. To her credit, she offered to bring me some vegetables, but I just wasn't hungry anymore.
The waitress did bring us a complimentary desert to split which was commendable.
This is supposedly an upscale restaurant with prices that are above average.
We probably will not return.
We've been coming out to PD for a long time, but have always stuck with our usual restaurants. We tried this for the first time, and we can now add another "usual" to the list. What great quality food, in a great atmosphere with great service. They have a soup taster that is amazing, and then a 3 flavored Crème Brulee, to die for. We will definitely make this a regular visit when in the area.
We have tried to go here several times and have never been successful in getting in - so we were very happy to do so this time. The service is bar none some of the best we have ever had. The food was great and very tasty. We went with my mother in law who also was impressed.
My husband and mother in law both had the filet mignon which was perfectly prepared. I had the Sea Bass which I always try to have when I can. I have to say - it is not easy to prepare this fish and it can be royally screwed up but this was cooked to perfection. Thank you for the experience.
Recommend this to anyone looking for a nice meal with great atmosphere (live entertainment was on in the back ground). I could see they could accommodate larger groupings (3 couples sat across from us and there was plenty of room for them without crowding) as well as couples.
I would not recommend this restaurant for children - only because the atmosphere is more adult oriented. That is not to say well behaved children couldn’t come I just don’t think they would enjoy it.
Lastly just a nice little surprise - their menus are back lit. This is a complain of mine all the time in darker ambience restaurants - I am constantly straining to see the menu - but not this time. The men’s are back lit on each page for ease of reading.
Again thank you for just a great meal.
Years have gone by and the Cork Tree is still on our go-to list while in the Coachella Valley, and for good reason. Smoked onion rings were delish to start and we've rarely had better duck and steak dishes ever. Our waitress was equally high quality in her mood and professionalism. We'll return on our next trip and keep Cork Tree on the list of recommended restaurants when friends travel to the Palm Springs area.
What a wonderful meal, everything from start to finish was divine.
Our greeting when we arrived, the service at our table, we were not hurried but really made to relax and enjoy it all.
The food was absolutely delicious and the service second to none.
Thank you everyone at the Cork Tree for making our evening very special
