About Cork Tree Restaurant
Cork Tree Restaurant is built around California products. Local ingredients are used whenever possible and wines of the West Coast, particularly California, are featured.
The wine list is always a work in progress, with a balance of well known wineries, as well as boutique wineries.
Cork Tree enhabits a style rich in California elegance. Large and round booths privately encased in wood and fabric provide intimate spaces for conversation and romance, while providing views of the understated glamor of the dining room. Trees and a natural cascading fountain make the Cork Tree Patio wind-protected and well-appointed for dining under the stars. Additionally, depending on the size of your celebration, two private dining options await.

Cork Tree Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
This became our favourite Palm Desert restaurant a number of years ago. The service and food was great then and nothing has changed in 2018. Our server, Natalie, was excellent and made us feel totally relaxed and not rushed. She knew the wine and food menus perfectly.
Our dining experience at Cork Tree was absolutely fantastic. We were seated on time at a beautiful booth as requested. The service was perfect. The Server was experienced and well informed on the extensive wine list and dinner menu. The food presentation was as fantasric as the taste. Just a really great dining experience at a reasonable cost. We will be back for sure!
This restaurant was so delicious we went two nights in a row, and are planning a third during our two week stay in Palm Desert. The seared scallops with corn risotto is perfectly cooked. So too is the salmon w horseradish crust.
So too was the templeton rye old fashioned.
Everything about our dining experience was excellent.
Love the atmosphere and personal service at Cork Tree. The escargot appetizer is always a crowd pleaser and always something to look forward to. Duck Breast was nicely done although risotto was disappointing - cold and rather bland. Bone-in Ribeye special was a tad chewy but close to medium rare as ordered. Great wine list at reasonable prices. We’ll be back!
This restaurant was recommended to us by a resident as well as a regular visitor of Palm Desert. The food was excellent. The escargot appetizer was creatively prepared and delicious. The duck with risotto was also very good. Our waitress, Shannon, was fun and efficient. The atmosphere was very upscale and comfortable.
Wonderful dinner on our last evening in Palm Desert. Don't let the location in a strip mall scare you off. Sat outside on a very nice patio with live music. Our waiter was excellent and helped us put together a great meal of shared plates. Had some good suggestions on wine to pair with our meal. Overall a great experience.
My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience at The Cork Tree. The ambiance of the facility is great. The service was as good as I have experienced in the desert in many years. Our top notch waiter and support staff were very professional and friendly. The food was just great from top to bottom. The duck I ordered was as good as I've ever had and the side dishes were excellent. My girlfriend got the beef filet and really enjoyed it. I am going to be back to The Cork Tree soon for sure.
The food was acceptable but nothing to rush back to. We were four diners. Two of us split a meal which certainly did not impress for a $7.50 upcharge. One of the other meals arrived without vegetables which were not under the entree meat as advised. Eventually they arrived.
And most unusually, the chairs had fake leather cushions which caused all of us to have uncomfortably damp seats. We did stay for almost three hours as the room ambience suited conversation. Perhaps the cushions are not rated for this long a sit.
Nothing special at the Cork Tree. Food is just
"OK", service was below par. We were waited upon
but we were not served. The room was very stuffy.
Fresh air was missing . Their version of a Caesar
Salad was both strange and unacceptable.
I will not eat at the Cork Tree again.
Kelly, the night manager, handled our son and daughter-in-law's (in Vancouver)request for a martini and a bottle of wine to be sent to our table for his Dad's birthday. Jan, our server, handled this beautifully as well as sending over a cake with a candle. Great evening!
My friend and I both celebrate birthdays within 2 days of each other, and chose the Corktree to celebrate prior to going to the McCallum Theater. We had Tim as our server and he would not have done a better job. He was excellent about explaining the menu, additional items that were not on the menu and was attentive and anticipated our needs. Our dinner was delicious, my friend had the Salmon which was outstanding, I had the Scallops which were so large, moist and delicious as well. We each had a mini salad which was just perfect as our meals were large so it didn't send us over the top. All in all our experience was top notch!
Had dinner at Cork Tree the last night of vacation. Wonderful service and excellent dinner. I had scallops and my husband had steak. Both of us were more than pleased with our dinners. For dessert I had the feature of the day - chocolate mousse - so decadent. My husband had the apple tart with vanilla bean ice cream. Will definitely go back on our next vacation in Palm Desert.
Accommodated our open table request for a booth. Impressed with lit menus - easy to read. Attentive service. Mushroom soup disappointing and not hot. Miss black rice that used to accompany scallops. (Anybody can serve risotto.) Desserts were excellent. Appreciated complimentary dessert for birthday celebrant.
