My daughter lives in San Angelo so I visit from the Chicago area multiple times a year and this is a stop during every visit! Love the salmon, and the beignet dessert is something to behold!
Great food! Great portions! Reserved a table online and even arrived 25 minutes early and it was waiting on us...WOW!
The food was excellent and service was great. Requested a table that was in a warm area and we were seated in the perfect spot.
Good food and friendly staff.
It was a great experience from reservation to paying the check. Had something for everybody in our extended family of 8.
Drinks were fabulous, whoever is behind the bar knows what they are doing! We were visiting for a family reunion and came a day early to explore. One had a delicious pizza and I had the marinated steak which was spicier than expected. I love spice but not heat at my age.
They didn't ask me if I used open table of get my name. Good food
We went for Mother's Day. We had made a reservation for 9 and our table was outside and seated only 8. Being outside they turned on fans which was nice, but then also turned on misters, much like those at a theme park, which blew mist all over our table and food. The food came out only 2 plates at a time with about 10 minutes between servings. And they forgot my food all together. When I did get my food (Chicken and Waffles) it was overcooked and cold. Overall it was not a good experience and we were very disappointed in the service and food.
Really enjoyed our Mother's Day brunch here. Highly recommend the Cork and Pig.
We booked a reservation here based on favorable reviews and an interesting write up on the chef and menu. After many years of traveling to San Angelo to visit our son attending ASU, we decided to give it a try. We had family coming in from all areas of the country and asked for a table for 8. The table setup was undersized for our group with two people having to sit awkwardly at a table corner. We asked for an extra chair because originally we would not have enough seating. This seemed to fluster the staff and I feel they were not as accommodating after that. The food was ok but I did not see the creativity that is given online. Portions were nice. Prices are moderate. In their defense, they were extremely busy - I just wish it could have been the special dinner I planned which is whole reason I booked with OpenTable and advised them it was for my son's graduation.
Food was delicious and the interaction with the wait staff was great!
Best pizza, amazing happy hour, super salads, yummy steaks, great service, and fantastic drinks. Thank you Cork and Pig for bringing your great flagship restaurant to San Angelo. You brought class and amazing food to San Angelo!
Pizza is spectacular. Food here is always great. Worth the reservation.
Didn't see much pork on the menu , chicken was good but wine prices little over the top , service was good and fast , will go back if I'm in the area .
While in San Angelo for work, I googled best Mexican restaurant. It was terrible. Then for dinner I googled best Italian. It too was terrible. So this place was labeled as one of the best restaurants in San Angelo. It was great. I had the pork chops. They were excellent. I enjoyed a salad with it. While most restaurants in San Angelo seem to treat salads with very little thought, this one was delicious. The manager also came to our table at least twice and had a wonderful personality. If you are going to be in San Angelo for only one meal, this should be your place to have it.
Love this place always great food & great service !!
I made a reservation for 5 for 8:30pm, close to c losing time. My group turned out to be 10 much to my surprise! The occasion was our board of directors taking our guest speaker out for dinner following his presentation, and he had requested to eat at the Cork & Pig. The staff was most accommodating and gracious and did a wonderful job of serving us. We were told not to worry about the lateness of the evening and kept the kitchen open longer than normal in order to take care of us. I appreciate their handling our larger-than-expected group arriving at such a time so professionally and hospitably. That really saved the evening for our group.
As usual, Cork & Pig Tavern was amazing. We've been going regularly since Virginia Armenta started this place, and it never fails to deliver!
The service was excellent. Food was amazing. Drinks were unique and very good.
Great food at a great restaurant for a good time. Service was on point and I would definitely go back again
Made a reservation, but was told they did not have one when I arrived. Found a table fairly quickly. Waitress was not very good. She would get one drink but not check on the table overall, so several of us spent time waiting for cocktails. She also forgot one of our meals.
Great dinner. Had the fish and chips and it was some of the best I've ever had. My husband had a fabulous steak. The highlight was a surprising dessert. Buckeye layered cheesecake, was phenomenal! Also, had a jalapeño margarita martini, it was so good, I didn't know what to expect but it was so amazing, perfect balance of margarita and a bite of jalpeno. Amazing dinner date with my husband.
The waiting staff was personable and prompt. The food was both quality and quantity. I had the salmon with the peanut slaw (per recommendation by our waitress) and it was phenomenal! The salmon was perfectly cooked and was paired with a delectable butter garlic sauce. The peanut slaw was equally unique and delicious. Overall, I would rank my dining experience with 5 stars! I will be definitely frequenting the Cork and Pig.
The service was great and the food was even better! The portion size was awesome for the price, especially for the rugged, outdoorsy, god-like, dad bod that I possess; definitely satisfied my unsatisfiable hunger. I myself ordered the Pig Pizza and my girlfriend got the porkchops, the pizza was about $15 but fed me for the next few days, the porkchops were near the same price; you get two and they are both massive, and marinated it some sort of mystical juice that takes you on a journey through the mists of Avalon; you also get a side. We got an appetizer and all together the bill came out to $44; which really isn't bad considering you dont get that quality/quantity for less than $100. It was a little hot, I think the air conditioner may have been out, but the service was very good, never had an empty glass. Overall I loved it, recommend it, and will return soon.
Excellent, by far the best I've tried in San Angelo!!!
I hadn't been to San Angelo in 45 years so we're back "exploring". Read good reviews about C.P.T. so chose it for dinner. Very reasonable prices and food was wonderfully done. Mary, our hostess, was awesome and made great suggestions. We were sort if having a "date night", but it would be a great choice for any occasion. We'd highly recommend it!
This is a frequent hop when in town visiting relatives. On Easter, we came in with the entire extended family of 11 people (8 adults + 3 children). There was another large group at three 4-tops put together. We were in two 4-tops booths and it was a tight squeeze. I mention this because this indoor floorplan/location is not friendly to large groups. The service was good as always and the two pizzas, salmon, and calamari were perfect. However, there were a couple of misses here - first, the deviled eggs were lacking the usual flavor. Second, both my porkchops came out raw - literally uncooked past 1/8" on the outside. I had cut them off the bone to inspect them since this requires the longest cooking period. When I sent them back (inedible) they came back slightly overcooked and devoid of the bone - where all the flavor resides. Anywhere else would have restarted a whole new dish. So when everyone else was finished, I had yet to start. Not exactly how you want to treat the host. Then to have them come back overcompensated and without a bone was disappointing - oh, and I was charged for the dish. Complete front of house fail.
Despite this miss, the other occasions I have visited were positive and I will be back.
There was a group of 10 of us. We all received our food in a timely manner except for two of us. The two were served their food when the rest of us had finished eating. Also, server slow in getting drinks out.
Having heard great things about the Cork and Pig Tavern we decided to have dinner there while visiting San Angelo. It has a casual and fun atmosphere with a varied menu. We ordered the salmon which was delicious and came with a peanut coleslaw, also excellent. We also ordered a side of macaroni and cheese and every bit of it was eaten!
From looking around at other diners, the pizza seems to be a very popular item as well as pasta dishes. Service was very good and the price was reasonable. We would definitely go back next time we are in San Angelo.
I flew into San Angelo for the weekend and wanted to take my husband someplace special for his birthday and Valentine's Day. Cork and Pig was rated #2 restaurant in SA and served both pizza and key lime pie, two of his favorites. I made the reservation on line, easy-peasy, and received e-mail confirmation. When we arrived 2 days later, the table was ready, although the place was packed, and we sat right down. The food was delicious. Even the pizza got kudos from my italian husband. The place was VERY busy yet the service was good. If i lived closer, i'd go again. Parking was the only issue. Small lot, lots of cars!
We had a family BD which was very enjoyable. I love the pizza while others enjoyed various items off the menu. Something for everyone. Wine and beer selections are good.
I booked with this restaurant for a work-related event. When I arrived they didn't have the table we originally booked, available. The hostess, tried to explain it away as it being our fault for booking the wrong table. When then asked to move to an outdoor location, in which the table layout would be more suitable for our group. The hostess, first said that would be fine, but then a few minutes later, said that the owner booked the largest table, and we could not sit there. So we asked to be moved to a smaller table, even though it would mean adding extra chairs, we needed a table that we could all see each other, and not have our backs facing others. The hostess was very hesitant to move us. When we finally did get seated at a smaller table, it was 30 minutes into our dining time.
The server, however, was very attentive. We received our food and drink in a timely fashion, and the food tasted great!
I would say, if you want to make reservations for this establishment, you might send a scout in a few days in advance, to make sure you will get EXACTLY what you asked for. Other than that, it was a nice visit.
I am a vegetarian and this place does not cater to us. However, I was able to have a wonderful dining experience.
We enjoyed our pizza a salad at the Pig and Cork. Our server was a bit preoccupied, but one does not necessarily expect top notch service at a pub. The Pig pie was excellent and the wines we had were very nice and showed no sign of having been open for a long period of time. Thanks for a nice meal.
Our waitress was very knowledgeable about how the food was prepared and was able to make great suggestions. She had a perfect temperament for dealing with our group who included three young children and our elderly mom in a wheel chair. She made us feel like we were her only customers because she was very attentive to all of our needs. The person who delivered the food when it was cooked on the other hand was very long faced and standoffish. He apparently did not enjoy his work and did not represent your restaurant well, but our waitresses' service and great attitude was not overshadowed by his bad service!
