Core Kitchen and Wine Bar at The Ritz-Carlton Dove Mountain
CORE serves breakfast and dinner.
Friendly efficient service, small selection menu,
Very covid safe.
This is my third time in two years visiting Core for dinner. The menu is great and the food is prepared perfectly with fresh ingredients. What I really think adds to Core is a fantastic wine sommelier. We have traveled through Europe, but she always surprises us with new wine (two new wines for this dinner).
For instance, we have spent a week in the Champagne region before, we order champagne from growers, and have attended NYC's biggest champagne events, but she served us delicious full-bodied champagne that blew us away.
Another example was our guests were big California wine drinkers but I wanted them to branch out to Italy and she knowing Italian wines suggested a great cross-over and my guests were amazed and pleased.
Excellent dinner with our daughter great wine & service!
Pricey but delicious. Great atmosphere and a perfect spot for a romantic dinner.
We are so pleased CORE is open again, this is a very special place that celebrates the Sonoran desert and the beautiful surroundings.
Overpriced! We counted what seemed to be 10 servers walking around in pairs mostly talking to each other. The server assigned to us was very inexperienced and extremely slow - perhaps his first night. Poor seating.
Lovely restaurant at the Ritz Dove Mountain. The service was wonderful and the food amazing. Can’t wait to go back next time I am in Tucson.
Overall, it was a great experience. I might suggest they widen the menu a bit with more variety. But the food was very good and service was great too.
Looking for a special evening with great good, superior service and a spectacular wine list? Core Kitchen is just the place.
Out of town visito
Maybe we were too late (7:30 Rez), but the service was very slow. Not up to its usual standard.
Disappointed in service and over all experience this time.
There is a very good reason why Core is our special occasion restaurant of choice. It is ALWAYS excellent, from food, to service, to ambiance. My wife and I went for a belated Valentines dinner and the experience was perfect in every way. Special mention to the “avocado cactus” appetizer! Can’t wait for our next special occasion.
Food and service excellent. Beer list is abbreviated and disappointing. Raspberry martini was average
Nice, but way underwhelmed!!! Would expect a lot more from the Ritz. Food, was ok, but not exceptional. They serve way too quickly - appetizer, salad and dinner - all in 25 minutes! Don’t think anyone there understands what dining means. Also, please pour more than 3 oz of wine. When you pay $20 a glass you’d expect that you don’t see the bottom on the first sip. Won’t eat at the McRitz again.
The glass of wine was just a few ounces and the cost was $18.... ridiculous
The Lobster was small and left my wife hungry after the meal.
We spent almost $200 on a steak and a small lobster tail... unbelievable.
We are not in New York City or LA. This is Tucson
The mashed potatoes were way too salty
The halibut cooked too long and duck appetizer tough
Great servers and the Albariño wine was excellent
Everything else was Too Expensive for what we were served..
Disappointed
Incredibly slow service
Great place to dine, to discover and relax. The ambience, service and food selection at the Core Kitchen, along with the small adventures about, and comfort allow the hours to pass in a most pleasant way.
Had a wonderful time at Core. The food was awesome and very creative. There was a little mix up with our order but they more than made up for it. I highly recommend this restaurant for any special occasion.
Reserved a table for a date night with my wife, but after discussing how much we enjoy Core, we decided to invite our good friends to share the wonderful experience with. Service was attentive as always, atmosphere was intimate, and food was divine. The specialty cocktail I ordered took a significant time to get, but the bartender came over personally to ensure I enjoyed it and apologize for the wait. I assured him that the old fashioned was worth the wait.
Excellent food and service! They have unique, local meals reflecting the wonder of Arizona. They handled my wife’s tough allergies with ease and gave her a delicious meal. We listed “Birthday “ and her allergies in the open table notes and they immediately said “Happy Birthday “ when we arrived and had already thought through the allergies. The wine selection is the best in the area.
Beautiful setting and location.
It is expensive, but worth it!
Everything was excellent. The service provided by Aiden and Levi was terrific. They were very attentive and knew the menu and wine list well. One glitch was not their fault when my order came out differently than described by the menu or our servers. Turns out the chef had changed things without letting anyone know. However, it was still delicious. To make up for the switch, the manager gave us a free dessert. Wonderful atmosphere and beautiful surroundings enhanced a magnificent evening.
Dinner at core kitchen was excellent. The kale salad was excellent. The striped bass and scallop appetizer were extent! For dessert the crime brûlée trough was excellent. Very romantic and excellent service.
Most enjoyable dinner. The waitstaff has improved dramatically since the last time we
were at Core. The menu is new and improved. We will be back next month.
We have dined at Core before and had great experiences, unfortunately this time the food was over salted and overcooked, and cold when it reached our table.
My wife’s shrimp were chewy and bland, luckily the salad dressing was enough to make them edible. The side of mashed potatoes I ordered cake with a bucket of salt, I had to politely ask for a box to take them hone and throw them away as soon as we left.
We could have sent them back or complained, but it was our anniversary dinner and we had a limited time to eat and get home, since our babysitter called and told us one of children became sick.
I don’t think we’ll visit Core again, it was overpriced, overcooked and the experience for the occasion was underwhelming.
Outstanding food, wonderful staff, beautiful venue, lovely ambience--great choice for a special occasion and entertaining.
No poor service for the price you pay. Never had worse service at that pricepoint
The food and service is always impeccable. Their menu has gotten a bit limited, would be nice to have a few more selections. I always like the trout, and that was now taken off the menu. But we always enjoy this restaurant
It was very difficult to get the waiter’s attention. He was very focused on filling the water glasses of the surrounding tables and never looked up from that task.
The 3 ounce portion of black bass was accompanied by a serving spoon of mixed vegetables. It took 10 minutes to get the waiters attention to order a side of mashed potatoes.
This was not the level of service I have had at other Ritz Carlton properties.
Grossly over priced for the quality of the food and menu choices. Great ambience and service however the menu and food was a big disappointment.
Definitely have a 2nd dinner opinion in mind .
We had two excellent meals at Core, Chris is an awesome server, he provided the most excellent service!! We’ll be back!
Wonderful experience (I recommend starting with cocktails on the patio for the sunset ceremony with native American flute music to usher in the evening). Everything was perfectly prepared and presented. The Prickly Pear appetizer was a work of art!
Food better than ever!
Excellent everything..
Nice setting, very comfortable chairs. Service was good - they were certainly trying very hard- but they were sort of there when we didn’t need them and not there when we did. Most of the food was exceptional. Kale salad was delicious. Lobster was an impressive preparation- personally I did not care for the sauce, but the lobster itself was cooked to perfection- whatever the opposite of rubbery is. Brussels sprouts were maybe the best I’ve ever had. Prime rib eye though was not great. They do not seem to know what medium rare is, and the meat was a little chewy, and nothing special about the flavor. Also we ordered a side of mashed and our server did not warn us that the rib eye came with mashed. The desserts were divine- if you like cheesecake you will be happy. Definitely a fantastic experience but at the Ritz, you expect the best.
Anniversary
Good food, good wine, good service. Will comeback in the future.
For us,Core Kitchen is, by far, the best restaurant in Tucson.
It was my birthday and I experienced amazing food, service, beauty of environment and true excellence in every way.
The chef, Christian Dyson, is so creative and gifted. Our server, Josh, remembered us and treated us like royalty.
A memorable birthday dinner😀
