A family birthday celebration. I had the restaurant make a chocolate mouse cake and it was wonderful! It was a great place to host a party.
We asked the waiter to slow the service because we were not in a hurry but, the different courses came fast and quickly.
It was my boyfriends’s birthday so we wanted to eat somewhere special. At the suggestion of a co-worker, I made a reservation at Core Kitchen and Wine Bar. Our experience definitely made it a special occasion. The food was incredibly tasty from the appetizer to the dessert. We both had steaks and agreed that the steaks were melt in your mouth delicious and some of the best steaks we've had in years. The service and atmosphere were outstanding. We will definitely return for another special occasion.
Core is a fine restaurant on which you can depend. Quality is always high, and Josh took very good care of us.
It was a birthday celebration dinner. Our waitperson, Andy, presented us with two glasses of champagne with birthday wishes from the staff. The steelhead trout was very delicious and presented well. The jambalaya was very good. Waitstaff was attentive. A wonderful evening.
My husband and I have our own last names, the ones we were born with. I made the reservation under my name. Luckily my husband was not bothered when the hostess and waiter repeatedly referred to us as Mr. and Mrs. (my name). Admittedly we did not correct them. I mention this because someone else may feel awkward. The room is large and lovely with beautiful desert views. Service was excellent; specifically Sophia, our hostess; Angel, our water and bread person; and Cristian, our waiter. I always like to try a restaurant’s specialty cocktails but did not do so upon seeing that they cost between $16 and $19. Food was very good but not exceptional. My husband’s rib eye was off the bone and not very thick. It was tender and had good flavor but was “not very exciting”. My pork tenderloin was excellent, being tender and having excellent flavor. Sides were all good. We found CORE Kitchen to be very good but overpriced.
It was our anniversary...we had a fabulous meal. Terrific food. Really the only thing lacking was the attentiveness of the wait staff to our table. It wasn't that crowded but the servers who helped the waiters bypassed our table for water refills and to check in on us. We were left unattended for about 20 minutes. Not sure why. I will go back because the food was fresh and delicious. Maybe it was an off night for the staff.
The dinner, as usual, was excellent. There is fine food, wine and a beautiful ambiance. It is our favorite get away in town. Core Kitchen is so special.
The food was just okay. My house made pasta was very thick and dense. We had to pour our own wine, as the waiter got tied up with a party seated after us. We had to ask for the dessert menu. But we waited so long for our waiter to come back, we skipped dessert and asked for the bill. Very disappointing considering what they charge. We live nearby. But because the Ritz (Core) food quality is so inconsistent, we will stop going there.
The food was awesome and the view was irresistible
Excellent service and very knowledgeable/helpful sommelier Jennifer (on multiple visits)
This was our first experience with Core Kitchen...and an amazing experience it was!
The corn soup and green salad were splendid...and my husband's striped bass and my pappardelle were also
cooked to perfection.
The decor invokes a peaceful environment and the service perfect.
It is pricey so check out the menu before you go. It was a memorable evening so the cost was certainly worth it to us.
We also got to use our $60. Open Table gift card. Most restaurants offer $25. so this added to our joy!
First time back at the Ritz Dove Mountain since getting married there 2 years ago. Food was delicious, Ahi tuna appetizer was one of the best things I’ve had in a while. Service was excellent as usual for the Ritz.
We had a fantastic meal with friends. Everyone loved all of the dishes, especially the mac & cheese.
We always enjoy going to any of the Ritz restaurants. We appreciate the attentive staff and excellent food.
Amazing experience. One of the best steaks I’ve had in recent memory. Sommelier was incredible with wine and tastings. Coravin system is a must try to enjoy new high end wines
Jess was an excellent server! His recommendations were helpful, and his personable nature made our anniversary all the more wonderful. The food was so delicious, and the service was great. Thank you!
Everything was delicious, but the level of service was amazing. Apparently the kitchen was running a bit slow (we didn't notice because we were having such a lovely time) and they comped our appetizer and one of our cocktails for our food not being out right away. We truly appreciated the added customer service. This was our 4th visit and we've never been disappointed.
Excellent, friendly service. Our server, Andy, made us feel VERY special. Food was superb. Wine sommelier Jennifer was very knowledgeable and helped us get a very nice bottle of wine. Thank you.
Amazing place. Service and food were too notch.
A top notch personalized special occasion dining experience. We were treated like royalty. The wait staff were impeccable. The food was amazing!
The food was outstanding and the restaurant was gorgeous. Our waiter was Josh and he helped us pick a great wine. The jambalaya was outstanding! My mom had the steelhead trout and it was cooked to perfection!
When you make reservations at the Ritz-Carlton, you expect the best of the best. Unfortunately, this location didn't measure up. From the minute we arrived in the Valet line, we stood waiting (with zero assistance with car doors or anything else) for at least 5 minutes until WE tracked someone down for the Valet. We experienced similar lack of attention on our way out as well.
The service was very good, despite the waiter spilling our $250 bottle of Caymus TWICE as he poured it. We were also disappointed with the Udie's toast they brought out as their gluten free "roll".
I really expected a top notch dining experience at the Ritz, which they pride themselves on, but this location really fell short.
We are local to the area and visit the Core Kitchen 3 to 4 times a year, usually to celebrate one thing or another. Our past experience has always been 5-star all the way, but this last visit took a step back. The menu now has a reduced number of entrees from which to choose, and most are relatively standard fare. This is the Ritz after all, so where is the duck, lamb, quail, etc.? We both ordered fish: bass and trout. Both were good, but not great. The bass was well-cooked, but lacked a sauce. The trout was the better of the two entrees. The slide in quality even affected the cocktails. The bar did not stock Southern Comfort (always available at much less pricey restaurants around town) and the Dirty Martini did not measure up to to past samplings. Don't expect bargain prices at the Ritz, but $16 for a single drink with, at most, a couple of ounces of liquor is still obscene. The staff was as friendly and as accommodating as usual, though our waitress was apparently fairly new to the game and was a bit slow to service (wife had to ask for a water refill), but otherwise did a good job. Maybe it was just an off night in the kitchen and bar, and we'll ty again at some point, but certainly hoping that this backward trend can be reversed in what was the best restaurant in Tucson.
We had dinner there during the memorial day weekend. We were seated outside, and the environment was very nice.
We had the tuna as appetizer. For entrees, I ordered the chicken, and my companion ordered the Jambalaya. All dishes were very greatly cooked and fresh.
Andrew was extremely attentive and professional. He was very knowledgeable with the dishes and explained each one to us in details, which helped us decide what to order. He came to check on us and top up our water frequently.
There were bugs around, which was a bit annoying, but it was understandingly unavoidable as we chose to sit outside next to some shrubs at night. The restaurant was noisy and busy as it was a long weekend. I just wish it was a bit more quiet, but it is not the restaurant's fault.
It was a good dinner. I would recommend it.
Core is always such a fabulous evening! The waiters are always so friendly and pleasant and the food continues to get better every time we come back! The sticky toffee pudding is a MUST:) Highly recommend Core always!
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Tucson, we’re out on the patio looking over the mountains as the sun went down. Service was impeccable, food is fabulous, can’t recommend it more highly
Excellent food and service!! Nice view and neat restaurant!
We had a wonderful evening and the service was very good. Wine prices are a little over the top.
Josh, our waiter is a gem. Very attentive, acknowledgeable, polite, and made the evening just so special.
Not up to it’s past standards. Though we had reservations and they weren’t unusually busy the hostess and wait staff were frantic. When we were seated we waited about 5 minutes before we were greeted. We weren’t sure who our server was because 3 different people came over and asked the same initial questions. We were told we couldn’t see a wine list because they were all in use -the restaurant was about half full. We waited over 10 minutes for the list and had to ask twice. Our assigned server and her assistant were good. The food was fair. The jambalaya was not “spicy” at all-as was warned. My husband has ordered it twice before and it was not as good this time. I had the pasta
The food was good but the service is exceptional and the views are beautiful and relaxing. I would definitely recommend The Core as a dining experience.
Beautiful evening visiting Dove Mountain. Food and service was fantastic.
I knew I was dining in a special when I heard kids at the next table begging for the brussels sprouts. CORE is better than anyplace I've ever dined before, but I have yet to visit Paris. CORE's demonstration of joy for the art is crystal clear in the celebration of each detail of each bite. I ordered the striped bass with a gorgeous glass of Sancerre and was thereafter teleported to a celestial realm. At first glance I thought the bass was en croute but no, it was the way it was prepared that the chef somehow was able to crisply fluff out just the edges of this most amazing filet in a way that actually celebrated the stripes of the striper. That is the kind of detail of which I speak, to so deftly visually and texturally bring attention to a dish as having been creatively and extremely well prepared underscores everything I want to see at an upscale joint. The scallop appetizer was just as sweet and tender with just the right flash of buttery crunch necessary to accentuate its inherent beauty. Service was outstanding, shout out to Josh for being dearly attentive and pleasant. I shall return.
It’s for my girlfriend’s birthday. The waiter Jonason, he is the best. Excellent service, great taste on the wine recommendation and pleasant attitude. Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful dinning experience. The food is good, the environment is great.
We spent 5 days at Riz Carlton, Dove Mountain and had 4 dinners while there. Everything was excellent, as always. This was our 5th visit to the resort. Breakfasts were excellent also.
Staff was great. Food was nothing special for the price. Limited menu options.
We enjoyed a fabulous view, great food, but the most horrible service we have ever had in a dining experience. The gentleman that waited on us was short, almost rude and did not service us to the standards of your dining establishment and as a dining establishment in a Ritz Carlton Hotel. We had a $400 and frankly, was very very discouraged especially the service. The wines we enjoyed and the scallops were great, and the steaks were average, and never did he ask us how things were. We asked for a glass of water four times, and never received. Very disappointing for the cost we spent on a birthday evening for our daughter.
This is a fine dining restaurant, but somewhere along the line, we lost the server's attention. The food was good. Everything was hot and fresh. Our guests were impressed.
Very odd dining room for dinner service. Huge and empty when we were there. And the food is priced on the high side and not very innovative nor exceptionally executed - both should be expected at a Ritz Carlton restaurant. Wouldn’t dine there again.
