The quality of the meat is excellent, but understand they do not season the steaks. The presentation is great. My wife ordered a newyork medium rare, it came out well done, then it took 20 minutes to bring a replacement "rare". At that point everyone else was done. No comments from management, and the restaurant was almost empty. I was hoping it had improved since the last time we were in 4 months ago, but it is still the same experience.
It took at least an hr to recieve food, from being sat to it brought. They kept saying it was busy but there were tons of open seating.
It’s nice to find a restaurant tha isn’t a “chain” in Layton. The seafood gaspacho appetizer is terrific.
The food wasn't horrible but it wasn't what you would expect for the cost. The steak was not cooked properly, the lobster was rubbery, the red peppers in the chicken Alfredo had bled into the sauce which gave it a strange taste. The asparagus was large and tough. The cream brulee was an awkward custard that was not flambeed and had broken.
I wish we had saved our money and went anywhere else.
Valentine's day meal. EXCELLENT! Fillet mignon (perfectly cooked), Corbin's potatoes (so good), Desert, creme brulee with chocolate covered strawberries. Service was friendly, fasts, and very attentive.
Another satifying meal, pricy but EXCELLENT.
Seats were torn. Steaks were tough. Service was rushed.
The service was terrible we had to ask for every little thing and sometimes she would bring it and sometimes she wouldn’t. We never once had or were even asked for our waters to be refilled or our drinks. She acted like she was trying to rush us out .
Everything went great. Told them we had a reservation and were immediately seated. Waiter approached within minutes for our drinks. Was very helpful and had great recommendations for both drinks and food. My wife had the seafood risotto and I had the ribeye. Both amazing. Only place I’ve found in Utah that can actually cook my steak perfectly how I like it. I don’t recall his name but our server was fantastic.
Corbin's never disappoints. The food is always great and the service stellar. An underrated establishment.
Walked in at 5:30 on a Saturday and it was empty. Was immediately seated at a booth. Booth seats had holes and fabric was stained. The fountain next to us was leaking onto the floor. The food was same quality as a Chuck-A-Rama. For $30 I would expect a decent cut of Prime Rib. The rolls and frozen vegetables were definitely bought at a local supermarket. I would never return to this restaurant. Save yourself time and money.
We have been going to Corbin's for several years now, 2 or 3 times per year, for special occasions or just for a date night. As usual the service and food was exceptional! Corbin's is a Davis County gem that doesn't get the hype it deserves.
The food was good and our server was extremely attentive. The only issue for me was a certain lack of attention to detail that I noticed. When everything else is very good, which it was, something like a stained menu or a banquette seat with crumbs, can really destroy the overall effect.
Food presentation far exceeded the flavor of the food. Median price ($80 for apetizer, two entrees, and three cocktails). Ambiance was also cozy with a pretty cool water wall. Overall it was good but not great. Not a place we will be in a hurry to try again
Our server Brianna was great! Food was very good, far better than expected! The only downfall was the lighting...it was far too bright, like spot lights on every table and even the wall fixtures were very bright. Other than that, we will definitely return!
Food was cold, u could tell it sat a while before sever brought it out. Waiter told the special for the night so we ordered came back and told us it was wrong. Wasn’t worth the price . Prime rib was over cooked for asking for RARE. Won’t go back and don’t recommend to anyone
The service was horrible. Our waitress was rushing during the entire team. Also couldn't enter a simple trout with a side order.
The food was okay. When it first opened the food was excellent. The carrots in vegetables were not cooked at all. The ribeye was small. For a steak place I still don't understand why different size ribeyes are not on the menu. Even Texas Roadhouse you can pick the size steak you want.
Staff was great! We were seated and waited on very efficiently. Our server was very attentive.
Wine menu looked great however, several selections were not available. When I finally settled on a glass of Merlot, it was served in a white wine glass..
( if you know anything about wine, the taste has just as much to do with the glass )
Food not cooked to order... I can get a better steak at Texas Roadhouse... Hint. Insult.
Wanted to show my significant other a good time on his birthday, but could have done the same at Maverick with beef jerky and a smoothie... Because that's essentially what we got... Over cooked steaks and no wine selection...
Will not be back unless someone else is paying.
We used to love Corbin's however since there has been owner/manager changes the service isn't the greatest. It is also a tad overpriced compared to other restaurants with the same quality of entrees. The service is incredibly slow, it took quite a while to get drinks and over 30 minutes for our actual entrees. We asked for bread, it didn't arrive until we were completely done and already paid the check. My filet was a little dry and they didn't have any steak sauce. Bring back the old Corbin's with amazing food and service!
The food was OK. The service was below standard. We didn't receive bread at any time despite all the tables around us getting bread. Additionally, we were not given steak knives when our dinner was served. When we decided we had to ask for knives, our server was nowhere to be found. Also, we were never asked if we wanted another drink.
Food was horrible. Server could not wait to get us out of there. I had to send my steak back because it was raw. Do not eat here
If you are a fan of spices in everything, this place is for you! The potatoes were spiced , the steak was heavily peppered. The steak was cooked to absolute perfection, just like I ordered it. The desert(creme bruillé) was delicious. I'm just not a fan of spices without warning. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Had fun celebrating s new job with some friends. After a couple minor hiccups with availability had a great steak and fun time.
Really love eating here. The water wall is so calming, and provides great ambiance. The food was interesting and tasted really good. I will recommend Corbin's to others.
This was our first visit. We met some friends there. The food and service were excellent. The decor was inviting. My prime rib was delicious. My wife's salmon was pretty good. The presentation of the plates was very nice. We plan to return.
Food and service were outstanding. Firewood grilled ribeye steak was very tasty. Nice relaxing casual night out with friends
We had a very enjoyable experience. This my first time eating a Corbin's and the atmosphere was great. Our waitress Katie was most pleasant and courtious. We were there for my 59th birthday and was very satisfied with the food and the service. Would recommend it for a couples night out or any type of special occasion, you will be treated well.
Great food, great service, and great atmosphere! I took my fiance to Corbin's for his birthday; it was the first time either of us had been to this restaurant, and it did not disappoint. The presentation of the food was perfection, and I loved the indoor waterfall. We will be coming here again!
They ran out of salmon. Very disappointing because that's why we came there. Service was slow, but they were busy. Food was a little pricey for what you got, but still good.
My husband and I go to Corbin's at least once a month. Each and every time we are treated wonderfully! The food is amazing, the ambience is great for date nights (ask for seat near wall waterfall), and the service impeccable.
First time there, but definately will return. Very creative, excellent food and atmosphere along with generous portions and wonderful service. what's not to like? Three out of four of us had the Lemon grass salmon with rice and the flavor was new and fresh and a very nice change. Happy to recommend.
"Reservation" at 8:30PM and weren't seated until 9:30PM. Pathetic. Ruined the rest of our nights plans. Not worth the price, old menu under old owners was much better. They ran out of their free appetizer on a deal and were barely willing to honor it for another appetizer. Lack of care for the customer, especially for the price. Wish we would have left. Beware!
Had reservation. Waited an hour before getting seated. Sat us at a foursome table that felt like we were on showcase. Light shining in our eyes. Bar was out of some ingredients so we were able to order the drinks we wanted. Food was not cooked well and had to send back. Potatoes had to much presto in them. Not good at all. Plus, I ended up getting sick. Would not recommend.
Really good food! We had excellent service... we did wait longer then anticipated even with our reservation. Nice atmosphere.
We made reservations for Valentine's Day and they were really behind We arrived 10 minutes early and then ended up waiti ng almost an hour before we were seated. We waited patiently, but then I noticed the guests who kept going up to the hostess would end up getting seated faster. I knew some of those people had later reservations than we did, so I was disappointed when they were seated before us. I finally went to the hostess and asked if they were seating 7:30 reservations and she said, "yes" and seated us within 2 minutes. Our waitress was okay, but I she was a little spacey on service. The food was great and came in a reasonable amount of time. We wanted dessert and asked our waitress about it. She said the molten lava cake takes 25 mins; that would have been good to know when we got our entres...just a quick, "In case you want dessert, most of them take just a few minutes, but out lava cake takes 25, so if you'd like that, I can go ahead and send the order into the kitchen." Something like that. Since we had been there for so long already, we asked for the cheesecake because we didn't want to wait so long for the lava cake. The waitress came back later and told us they were out of cheesecake. We asked to have the creme brulee, 10 mins later, the waitress came back and said they were out of that too. We called it a night. We did get a small discount, but I don't feel it was enough to make up for the night. To top it off, my husband called them earlier that day to order flowers to be set on the table for me, and they weren't there. Overall, we were pretty disappointed.
We had a reservation for 7:15 pm. We arrived about 15 minutes early. We were told they were well behind on their reservations. At 7:30 pm the party next to us in the lobby with a 6:30 pm reservation had still not been seated. We left at 8:00 pm because we couldn't wait any longer. Very disappointing.
It was Valentine's Day. We had reservations for 7 PM. Arrived at 6:40 so we could make sure we got in on time, knowing it was a holiday. Checked in-hostess told us it would be about 15 to 20 minutes which we expected since we were early.
We sat down at the bar. New guy (three days) was very nice, but It was very unorganized even when others came to help. The lobby filled up even more than it had when we first arrived. 40 to 50 people waiting. Got our wine-After 15 minutes, so we drank it rather quickly and closed out our tab since we thought we would be getting seated soon. Come to find out there were two separate couples behind us that had 645 reservations and four more @ 7. It was now 730 and none of us had been seated. As we enjoyed each other's company, which included complaining about the wait time, a girl screamed"yahoo!" When they were called. Another 30 minutes passed and we were finally seated. It was now 8. When finally seated, we noticed many open tables some cleared, others not.
Sat down-no silverware, no napkins. Another 10 minutes for someone to come by. Ordered an appetizer and drinks. Brought the appetizer quite quickly but still no silverware. Silverware – no napkins. Ordered dinner, and NO prime rib- they only prepare that on weekends. Why would you not prepared prime rib on Valentine's Day? So-disappointed, we ordered the ribeye steak (med rare)and the salmon. Dinners came with soup and salad but took a while before they came out-waitress said they were behind on making them. Got the soup and salad and also got our entrées. Ribeye was horribly overcooked-so bad I could not eat it. Told waitress – no offer to re-cook or to take it off the bill. Just a reply "I'm sorry".
Overall, it was a horrible experience. Eating dinner took less time than the wait. Not the people's fault. Poor management. Either overbooked on purpose or grossly understaffed. We will not be coming back. And I have told many of my experience.
I placed a reservation, when I arrived i was told it was a 40 minute wait. The service was pathetic, the food average at best. There are much better places that will respect your time and treat you better. I wont go back.
This reservation service was worthless. We arrived at 6.45pm... Having a reservation for 7pm. But Corbins doesn't know how to handle reservation system since we wait for an hr to be seated. So there's no point to do a reservation since people will need to wait regardless. Food was good but seemed to miss more body and flavor. Our server was accommodated and the only one that show some kind of sympathy for the delay. But was not fun the waiting and the lack of preparation towards people's reservations.
We made a reservation for 6:45 and didn't get seated till 7:35. When we asked the manager why our wait was so long he told us that they were just really busy. Not sure why they take reservations then.
