Wonderful anniversary dinner - excellent food and atmosphere, a phenomenal server... Unfortunately Saturday was the last night they were open. Glad we made it there once.
I was very disappointed to find that the bar menu had been removed. I was not in the mood for a huge meal. The mushroom fume was delicious as was my cocktail and wine. The red snapper entree was a little on the tough side and not what I would consider the standard of this restaurant.
We have been there many times, always good. This time food wasn't that good . Onion rings were really greasy. Hamburger bun was not real fresh. Very dissappointed. Hopefully next time will be better.
The salmon was very good and proportioned well, but the scallops (3 only) were small and flavorless.
My husband and I celebrated his 80th birthday and our 26th wedding anniversary. The waitress Tiffany was excellent. She truly made our occasion special. Thank You
Besides the great service, the food was very good. No complaints only praise!
I made reservations for 35th anniversary (BIG DEAL) and birthday celebration - the food was so bad I felt bad to tell our nice waitress - one person ordered a well done burger and it was very pink inside - 2 ordered chicken marsala and the chicken so so tough they could barely eat it .... and I had steak it was good - but the carrots were terrible. No one hate those. The carrots were hard as a rock. Sad to say we will not be back. Very expensive meal and the food was horrible. Sorry to give such bad ratings. The best part was our server. She was sweet.
Good not great, is the best I can offer. We were visiting from out of town for our anniversary and I chose Corbett's for dinner. The atmosphere is very nice with a beautiful porch area available. We were greeted with "Happy Anniversary" which was a nice touch by the manager. The hostess sat us, and we sat....and sat. The waitress did acknowledge us, but left us without menus or drinks for 10-15 minutes.
Finally, our cocktails arrived and we were given menus, and after a few minutes to review, the server went over the specials simply stating that a prix fixe menu was also available, but offered no details. My wife had already indicated to me she wasn't interested when we overheard a different sever discussing it with his table. Just another missed opportunity.
We started with the calamari, which was well cooked and overall satisfying. I ordered the prime rib and my wife had the scallops. Everything was meh....average. I was surprised that my wife's entrée only included three scallops, which were prepared correctly, but pretty unremarkable flavor-wise. My prime rib was also prepared as requested and....fine. The accompanying au jus was more like gravy than beef drippings, but the flavor was good. We had to ask the busser for a second roll.
We finished our entrees and returned to waiting. Finally, the waitress reappeared and asked if we were interested in a dessert my wife had previously commented on. I had to ask her for the dessert menu to find out what the other options were. I completely understand service can be variable on different nights, especially if things had been busy, but it wasn't busy at all, so I tend to be less forgiving when someone is clearly not focused on the customer.
Ultimately, it was a sub par experience that I wouldn't give another opportunity. I know there are quite a few fine dining options in the metro area and I'm confident there are better restaurants to enjoy.
The food was amazing! The service was excellent. We went there for our first anniversary and they made it a truelly enjoyable experience!
Table was ina corner and didn’t really feel part of the restaurant atmosphere at all.
Service was EXCELLENT!
We never miss celebrating our anniversary at our favorite restaurant. As always, the food is perfectly prepared, well presented, with service that is attentive without being intrusive. When we make our reservation, they always know in advance exactly how we like our cocktails prepared (Hendricks Gin on the rocks with cucumber garnish). The atmosphere is quiet, and conducive to intimate dining, and they give great value for the money. (PS - terrific wine list, reasonably priced.)
We sat on the front porch at dusk, drank a great bottle of wine and ate some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. It was kind of magical.
We were celebrating an anniversary on a Monday night...definitely pleased to find Corbett's was not "dark". Although ther were not very many people present, our waiter seemed pre-occupied...we were without our bread for the first three courses of the pre-fix menu. He was very apologetic when he became aware of the situation, but we had to ask for the service. The food was good, but seems very much over-priced. Thanks to our daughter's generous gift certificat, we were not too concerned about the bill and could enjoy the meal.
Typically expect great food. Not sure what happened. Appetizers were warmish. Steak was fine. Fish tasted good but there was something in it. So my wife ate about half and then discovered. They took meal off bill but ... wine selection was good and waitress and service were good. Not going to head back until I hear better reviews again.
Amazing as usual. Love the Parmesan encrusted halibut!!
Kat, our waitress, was incredible! Knowledgeable, attentive, professional. Front porch seating was perfect. A wonderful evening!
Wife loved the room. Even though the restaurant was basically empty at 5:30, we were seated next to the kitchen where we could hear the kitchen noise. My steak mashed potatoes and green beans were basically warm. Just on the verge of being cold. My strip steak was obviously an aged steak, but contained two large pieces of gristle. For a $36 steak it was pretty small at 6 or 7 ounces.
My wife said her filet was just OK. My sons salmon over rice were decent I guess, although again the plate was pretty warm if not cold.
My other son had the $15 hamburger and fries, we all thought it was great.
The cheesecake and crème brûlée were very good.
I guess we won't be coming back here, my $240 check including tip was just too much for a below average meal. Would have got a much better meal at less than half the price at a place like Texas roadhouse. Sorry for the bad review but not impressed at all.
everything was wonderful as always! The chef welcomed us as well.
Franklin was our server and he was fantastic! He was personable, humble, very helpful, kind and appropriate in how often he came to our table. Give that guy a raise!
Great evening enjoying outdoor seating.
Had someone in our party that is hard of hearing. So outside was great as the noise level was lower.
Such a cool venue--inside an old house with a beautiful porch. The atmosphere was lovely. The food was unique and spectacular! I had a really interesting specialty cocktail. My scallop dinner over orzo was cooked perfectly and so delicious. Wonderful experience!
It was our long awaited first-time experience. Dress was business casual both outside on patios and inside their quiet comfortable dining environments. The occasion was a reward meal with spouse; combining a special event and an opportunity to visit one of Louisville's venerable eating establishments. As expected, all aspects of our 6:00 - 8:30 evening dining event were outstanding. It was a challenge to select menu items from the diverse seasonal selections. Don't go if you are in a hurry, you could overlook special products and staff who are eager to help your event special. Want to enjoy an evening of wonderful food and quality service? Don't pass-up a weeknight opportunity. The pace is slower and everything else is simply memorable!
Everyone was very friendly. The food and wine were excellent. I will definitely return . My wife and I both enjoyed the experience.
New menu, new chef, but same great quality! Scallops and New York Strip were great main course selections. We had the mushroom Fume' soup which was very flavorful!! The speciality cocktails were up to the usual excellent standards!
Corbetts was once our favorite restaurant...no longer true. VERY DISAPPOINTED. Bread was poor. Halibut entree was not prepared properly, tasted like it had been stored in the refrigerator for days and lacked the appropriate amount of vegetables and sauce. Breading was overcooked. Regret not sending it back, paying for drinks, appetizer and just leaving.
Service was a bit unprofessional. Restaurant was practically empty on a Saturday night, we wondered why...now we know.
Bland. What has been a favorite place for special nights will be no more. Everything seemed to be without pizzazz. Cauliflower soup that seemed as though all the thought in its preparation was the speed of the processor. Parmesan halibut that was dry and uninspired. Even the tasty bourbon infused chocolate ice cream was lacking creaminess. And my wife's mint ice cream mixed with it brought back memories of too many juleps. I'll likely try again but not for anything special.
The food was terrific. The service was beyond the ordinary. Our server was fantastic, and quite knowledgeable about every aspect of our dining experience.
I took my parents to Corbett's to celebrate their wedding anniversary. For the last couple of years, we have chosen Corbett's for our celebratory events. I like Corbett's for its wonderful atmosphere and quality food. This time we were disappointed in the meal and service. The wine, however, was outstanding, and we were deftly guided in our selection by their sommelier. I don't like to give them the "no" on recommending to friends but until I give them another try, I can't recommend them. This experience is not in keeping with our previous experiences so I am hoping we were there on an "off" night.
Corbett's is a fantastic restaurant. The food was superb. The atmosphere was elegant. Our server was excellent and had great suggestions as to what to choose when we didn't know what to pick. It was our anniversary and they treated us to a free dessert which was as amesome as well as the food. We will be back again.
Corbett's is my favorite restaurant in Louisville. My husband and I have never had a bad meal here - it's always outstanding - and the service is always stellar. This place is such a gem!
Service and ambiance are great. Food and menu should be reevaluated.
Very nice restaurant. A little stuffy for my taste. We got sat in a room in the basement which would be fine in the winter but I wanted to see the sun. I probably would've loved this restaurant had we sat outside.
Excellent service as always! Comfortable yet elegant. One of our favorites!
Good quality everything as usual. Service and food quality top notch.
Corbett's was a fabulous dining experience! An elegant but relaxed ambiance, helpful and attentive (without being intrusive) staff, and courses that were each a special treat. The sauces (for my New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and my wife's Scallops Special) were especially fantastic. Not inexpensive but still a great value for a very special meal. I consider Corbett's to be one of Louisville's Top 5 restaurants, which is quite an accomplishment in this foodie town! :-)
Went there with my wife to celebrate our 27th Wedding anniversary. The ambiance, coziness, and general atmosphere were a great start to the evening. I will admit that I was feeling a bit under the weather before our arrival but I so much wanted a great evening. We shared an appetizer of different hand selected meats and it was extraordinarily tasty. We tried a couple of salads and they were just ok. It all went downhill with my wife's entree. She ordered a filet Mignon, well done. I know how difficult doing a filet well done is, but if a place like this, that charges the prices they do, is putting it on the menu then they really should know how to properly cook it. As soon as it came to the table, i asked my wife if I could touch it in order to confirm its wellness. What i felt was a slightly hard exterior with a soft spongy interior, a classic sign of a perfectly cooked medium. I had her slice it open to confirm and it was borderline medium-rare. I ate my dish while my wife starved for nearly 23 minutes until this mess of a plate arrived once again. They voluntarily knocked about 85% off the cost of her entree. Then still feeling under the weather I went to the restroom for about 20min and my wife order a regular coffee which arrived just as I returned. She took a sip and said it was luke warm, I took a sip and and it was room temperature. the waitress soon showed up apologizing (we hadn't yet complained) saying she grabbed the wrong coffee pot. I'm thinking do they really have coffee pots full of coffee sitting around for hours? Oh, and then there was a mistake (minor one) on a drink order. I still left a 20% tip in spite of this because my wife really likes that I tip well as she was once upon a time a server. I drive a cement truck for a living, and if I can tell that a steak is not cooked right, why can't they? I just can't give it any higher ratings than I did, even though I want to
My wife had a wonderful time. Brooke was a wonderful waitress. She was very personable and friendly. Aside from great service. My wife and I discussed our opinion of Corbett's on the way home. We agreed that Brooke was very responsive, but allowed us to spend time together to enjoy our drinks. Very nice!!
Corbett's is a wonderful East End restaurant. Very happy with the changes they've made so it's not just "special occasion" dining. Our latest meal there was mid-week and we brought family from Atlanta, who were very impressed. The food was very good, and the ambiance is terrific.
At times it can almost be too quiet - we were in the section to the left as you enter, and until it filled up with other diners, we felt like we were being loud as 5 of us talked and laughed. I don't remember there being any music playing but something like that might be good (turned down low) until the restaurant gets busier at night - we were there at 6:30pm.
We will definitely be back!
Everything was great from the mushroom soup to the great diver Scallops and grouper the server is as Kat and she was outstanding as she usually is
This was our first time at Corbett's. A few of our friends had recommended the Restaurant. We celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary. We had a wonderful romantic dinner. Our server, Kerry M. was excellent. He took great care of us as well as the rest of the Staff that evening. The food was scrumptious! Look forward to our next visit.
We had a gift certificiate so we delighted to try a new restaurant. We went for our anniversary - had a loving evening with delicious food and drinks!
