What Insiders Are Saying
Tapas galore on the Embarcadero. If you work in the Financial District, you probably want a reservation here.
This an amazing, vibrant, and moderate Spanish style restaurant. Inside the restaurant is beautiful, with looking right out to the water. It is perfect for a date night, but I would definitely go to eat tapas and have a good cocktail! This place is not good for people who haven't eaten all day, and want to get a good hearty meal - More for good conversation, late bite, and (again) date night. The service was amazing & they even modified some items on the menu for vegan options.
The food was incredible! The food is unique and flavorful - I was highly impressed. The service was impeccable! I would highly recommend it, and cannot wait to go back.
Good food and excellent service (at lunch), but small portions and quite expensive for what you get. Also the seating is a bit cramped. Having been to Basque country, I would not say this is "authentic" basque food, but it's still pretty tasty - I can recommend it if you're not the one paying for it ;-)
We recently returned from a trip to Spain, and Coqueta took us right back there. All of the food was very good, albeit a little pricey. The cocktails were also very good, and the atmosphere was lively without being loud.
Service was outstanding and served authentic food from Spain. Will be back with my entire family.
Very disappointed in food yesterday everything was really too sweet. Usually one of my favorite places to go.
Came for lunch and enjoyed every dish. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that made me feel welcome. I loved sitting at the bar by the kitchen and saw more dishes I’d love to try on a return visit.
Always a fun place to have dinner with family or friends. Great food, great drinks, festive ambiance.
Table was a bit tight
This restaurant never disappoints. Great food, service and vibe. One of our favorites in San Francisco.
Took my boyfriend here for his bday on a co-worker's recommendation. The food was so delicious, our server was kinda, speedy, and accommodating, and the cocktails blew me away (we got 2 each and sampled each other's).
Will return for dessert and wine soon!
Only thing that perplexed me was that I made a reservation and we were seated not at a table but at the counter - it worked well because I like sitting next to my boyfriend on dates anyway (to better steal his food), but I thought it was a little odd to place a reso there.
Hard to get reservations but we had a great dinner with our friends. Tapas are generally more expensive than regular entrees. We liked eveverything except the meatballs. They were just OK. Patatas bravas were the best we’ve had. Chicken croquettes were fabulous. Salted margarita was delicious. Very nice server.
Very slow service and rude waiters. Long wait to order food as well.
What’s not to love...everything was great!!
The food was great, server was very nice. The hostess, tried to sit us at the counter and that was unacceptable. She tried to tell us that was what we reserved on open table, but that want true. We were about to walk out and she found a table for us.
It was fabulous! Every bite was a delight!
Great view, fast service, good wine list.
We had a wonderful time at Coqueta! Our server went above and beyond to make sure we selected the items that were right for us and brought us several wine tastings so we could make the right choice. The food was delicious and the ambiance was great!
We tend not to be overly complementary. This restaurant, from service to creative cuisine, was extraordinary. Not inexpensive, but certainly worth it. Highly recommended!
Food and service was great but had to wait 30 mins for our table
Great food, location and room. Very small and expensive portions is only blemish.
Wonderful lunch. Branzino and prawns. Delicious.
Celebrating Birthday!! Great experience, loved the ocean view, food, service and I wanna thank the Chef !!! We were at 11pm and he made my dessert even though it was too late.
Thank you all!!
Birthday dinner was really special at Coqueta!
I absolutely love this place! It was my first time, but not my last. From the beginning to the end, the experience was memorable.
Excellent unique food with a wonderful blend of flavors.
Our meal at Coqueta was the highlight of our anniversary stay in San Francisco. We had bar seats with a view of the kitchen. The ambience was lively and fun. Nikolas was our server, and he was awesome!! We let him know our dietary preferences and he walked us through the menu, crossing off items that would not work, and making recommendations for the perfect meal. We took his advice and were delighted with everything. He suggested a lovely Albarino, which was a perfect complement to our meal. We started with the boquerone pinxto, which was a party in our mouths, and which was Nikolas's treat. We had the Pulpo a la Parrilla, a lovely grilled octopus dish. Next was wood grilled branzino (to die for!), then Catalan style broccoli served with garbanzo, caper-raisin pureee, pine nuts, raisins and garlic - delicious! And finally, the "Bikini," brioche a la plancha with cana de cabra, roasted eggplant and apple jalea - if this is on the menu, don't miss it! If you live in San Francisco or are visiting, be sure to dine at Coqueta! Highly recommended!
Awesome G&Ts at the bar. Food was excellent along with the service. A bit expensive for what you get.
Disappointing lunch by all means-food, price, service. It took us 10 min to get an attention from a server and finally order food. Food portion is small but it was pricey for mediocre food.
Excellent from start to finish. Perfect for leisurely lunch.
Johnny our waiter was superb.
A homey, rustic venue in a beautiful location on the water, with a fantastic menu and service to match. Very highly recommended!
Great food, gin cocktails a specialty. Intense flavors, tender meat preparations. All cured meats made in-house. A win.
We had a wonderful time, with unique and tasty food, and the staff were very understanding to our arrival delay! Small bits great for trying new things.
Couldn't have been happier with our evening at Coqueta. Of special mention was our waiter, who was helpful, attentive, but not overbearing. Food was fabulous!
Worst service in a long time. They basically seated us and didn’t come back in an hour
Made a reservation and our seats were at the bar. We did not prefer that and asked to be at a table they gave us a table after putting up a little stink about it. So if you do not care disregard this but If you do I would indicate table preferred when you reserve. Excellent Food!
Nice lunch on the Water. Great tapas with lovely presentation. Definitely will go again. Also had the Sangria which was refreshing and delicious. My only complaint was the bar stools were slightly uncomfortable. But otherwise, delicious food to order in bites.
