Great experience - Matt, the manager is a gem. Awesome variety of local beers and spirits. Loved the oysters!
Everything was good but waited too long for the food. It seems the restaurant is understaffed.
Food was terrific as always but this is the second time in three weeks that I experienced extremely slow service. Lunch took two and half hours, and no one checked on us once our meals were delivered.
My fiancé and I️ had an amazing time. We would definitely return.
I ordered the duck breast - medium rare. It came chewy and well done - awful but my dog liked it. The potatoes were served completely dry. the whole meal was just awful. My friend ordered the short ribs (they came out cold- inedible) and the only thing that was good is that she ordered the brusell sprouts. They came out hot and really good. Everything else was over-priced and dog food.
Our server was very nice. We had some apps and drinks - casual night out for us.
We always enjoy coming to the Tavern. This was a brunch occasion - great shrimp and grits, cauliflower hash! The elderberry mimosa was quite tasty! And our server was very gracious in dealing with a table full of older guests with hearing and mobility challenges. Just wish the noise level had been a tad lower.
Friendly, quick and attentive service. The breakfast we had was wonderful, will do this again soon.
Everything was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and everything arrived to the table quickly.
Fast service. We requested to change seats and they were very accommodating but only after the 2nd request. Menu is very limited. Presentation of food was good and taste great. My boyfriend said the rabbit was excellent. My lobster mac n cheese was good.
Poached eggs on Benedicts we hard cooked. Very disappointing.
Fantastic service food and drinks. Absolutely our go to date night spot. Truffle Mac is to die for!
The startups were the best part of the meal - had the goat cheese and the short ribs with parsnip puree. The filet mignon was just okay; jmy friends seemed to enjoy what they were eating. Tuesday is free chocolate cake night, which is always a nice way to top off a meal, and was just that little something extra that all restaurants should try to give to customers to leave them feeling a little better!
Great weather and nice outdoor seating by the street.
Delicious food, great service. Can’t wait to go back!
Great place for an early morning bfast! We will be back again! Great staff as well!
The food was great but the service was very slow.
Welcoming space to gather with friends (including dogs) and enjoy delicious meals.
Nice setting, great service, appetizers and sides great; main courses and specialty drinks not as much.
The wait staff was fantastic, very timely with checking in on us and making sure we were doing well. The food was quite excellent, and the drink selection was vast.
I sincerely regret forgetting our waitress's name because she was fantastic--appropriately attentive, fair and considered (and wonderful) recommendations. My food was okay. My steak was a little overcooked and the mushrooms and fries were lukewarm/cold. But my friend has not stopped raving about the fried goat cheese. She also loves the fried green tomatoes. And I can give two thumbs up to the cauliflower mash.
The seating was not level (we were in a booth/chair sitch). The music was fantastic (but I love the 90s). Well ventilated and comfortable.
Came for Fathers Day, oysters were small and our steaks were overdone. Service was extremely slow, which is understandable with lack of employees but can be planned against.
Food was great. Ambience wonderful. Only downside was that our waiter disappeared towards the end of the evening and forgot to bring our check. We had to flag down another waiter twice to get the check.
Great Father's Day brunch with family. We will be back soon.
Love the food, serviced, atmosphere. Music occasionally too loud for easy conversation. Still a favorite venue.
Great brunch location. Good food, drinks, and service.
The quality of the tomahawk steak could of been better it had a lot of fat, the service and everything else was great
One of our favorite neighborhood dining places. Good and drinks superb as always. Nice to see familiar wait staff.
Food always excellent and was able to eat outdoors.
Delicious, fresh food with lots of choices for carnivores and vegetarians. Gorgeous interior and stellar service. Indoor/outdoor seating. I highly recommend it!
This was my 1st visit to Copperwood, and I'll return. Service was prompt and efficient. Brie and steak salad were delicious, and by eating outside we enjoyed the energetic ambiance (complete with well behaved pet canines) that Campbell Ave in Shirlington provided on Saturday night. Food was a good value for what you received.
Made a reservation for noon and was sat right away. Server greeted us soon as we sat down. Water and popcorn arrived shortly after we ordered our drinks. Quality of food and temperature was excellent. Cauliflower hash was the star dish. It was flavorful and well-seasoned. Wish there were more than just two biscuits though. :(
Great service great food. Great evening overall
Wines (cab and pinot noir) were good; salmon was cooked to order; duck was a bit chewy; service was great. Nice to be back dining again!
We sat outside, which was very nice. The food was delicious; fresh and good size portions. The mashed cauliflower was especially yummy!
Very enjoyable brunch location. Plenty of space and variety on menu.
Fabulous food. However they only get a 4 because their outside wait staff is not attentive to the customer. For their prices, they should be more proactive with respect to things like refills of coffee and water. That was not the case yesterday. Indeed commie he was gracious and thoughtful. However pama perhaps because of understaffing, there was insufficient follow up.
I usually really like this place but it was a bit sub-par on the night we went. Food wasn’t really hot coming out, the fried green tomatoes were over fried. Almost like dried crackers. Didn’t offer corn bread. Saw they had halibut online but didn’t have it in the restaurant/on menu.
Would have been better if my English muffins weren’t still frozen in the middle.
We went for brunch. The appetizers were not good however the drinks and food was.
