Great food & menu! The staff & servers were really hustling to provide exceptional service during these COVID times. Kudos to them for the maximum effort!
Can not recommend. Was sat down promptly and then promptly forgotten. Walked out after waiting 10 minutes for any kind of service.
Will not ever go again.
I had read about this place on NextDoor and raving about Copperwood’s Fall menu. It was My husband’s birthday and he wanted to try a restaurant we haven’t gone to before. So I chose Copperwood Tavern.
The sides they don’t give much of, so order a side if you are having the Duck breast. My husband had the venison lovely and my son had chicken tenders but these are grilled so you know.
Cons- service was a little slow, don’t look up on the pulley or lighting, the dust bunnies on the light above our drinks and food was dropping around us.
That needs to be cleaned biweekly.
Great place…awesome food and very nice vibe! Highly recommend.
Fresh, delicious. Get anything with the short ribs. Especially the grilled cheese. Or the eggs benedict. Fried green tomatoes with pimiento cheese were also wonderful. Will definitely return.
Excellent dinner at Cooperwood Tavern, The pork chop is off the charts and the overall experience was a big thumbs up, highly recommend.
Enjoyed our Sunday brunch experience. Service was great. Our server had only been working there 2 days and did well. I recommend the pear mimosa and short rib Benedict. The blueberry ricotta pancakes and chicken and waffles were also good. The western omelette was good but next time I’d order something else as it wasn’t very “filling”. We’ve been here twice and are likely to return.
Good food and environment for business meal
Wish they would bring back their quiche. Otherwise good good, love the location, love the extra outside seating.
Great service friendly staff
Server took nearly an hour to get an appetizer out to us and then another hour to get our entrees out to us…It then took another 20 minutes to get our check.
Good food and service! We go regular and it’s the best option in Shirlington!
Staff was GREAT! Food was “fine”. Ask for salt and pepper. Will go back.
Our food was superb and the drinks were amazing! Our server was generous and professional. Her recommendations were truly on point! Thank you !!
Great place for brunch! Very accommodating! I love the brunch options.
I loved the Ashburn location so when it closed I tried the Shirlington location. Food was just as amazing … seriously- everything from the cocktails to the last bite of my dinner. My husband felt the same. It was a little loud but that’s only because we were eating outside with the buzz of the street and crowded outdoor seating amongst all of the restaurants on the street. I can’t wait to dine here again. It’s one of my top casual “upscale” restaurants in the area.
Meal was wonderful. Service was great and weather was beautiful.
Great food and service. Easy parking in Shirlington
The food was not good. I was served the worst ribeye I have ever tasted/chewed. Sides were cold. Ceaser had no flavor. Service was fine. I am never going back. The Fog Theory Pinot Noir was trash... Don't waste your hard earned money there.
Didn’t eat here. Sat down and left. The place was extremely dirty. Sticky table, dirty glasses, dirty tables around and dirty floor.
Brunch entrees were delicious and good sized. Cheddar jalapeño donut appetizer is really cornbread in a donut shape. Service started out ok but we had to wait awhile to get a second drink.
Friends get together, some of us were out of town. We had a very nice server; food came out great and actually pretty fast, too. We had a good time!
Everything we ordered was outstanding from drinks( Porch punch, Tequila Sour) appetizer (baked Brie) side dishes (mashed potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and asparagus) and main courses (venison and filet). We haven’t had a good meal like that in a awhile! We will definitely be back
Delicious food in a hipster setting. Great cocktails
Excellent food and service. We had a fine dinner with friends and plan to return soon.
Amazing food and service!!
Great food and great service. We love copper wood tavern. Thanks
My 3rd time here. The mussels and braised short ribs are among my favorites.
We wanted so much to enjoy our time at Copperwood, however that was not the case. It was a humid day so we sat inside; it wasn’t busy yet took 15 minutes for anyone to take a drink order. We ordered at the same time, with a clear explanation of unique considerations for cooking of beef. Based on server recommendation my husband ordered what he thought was a “medium-well” burger. The food came out quickly, and while tasty, 2 biggies:
1. Burger was RARE by an any definition, but our server disappeared!
2. The ask for extra ketchup took 20 minutes, and was only granted by my approaching the hostess.
The only time we ever saw our server was when we glanced her chatting with fellow staff by the rear of the bar. An attentive busboy (man) ultimately took care of us.
Great food and great service. Some of the best protein and meats I've had in the northern VA area!
Great experience - Matt, the manager is a gem. Awesome variety of local beers and spirits. Loved the oysters!
Everything was good but waited too long for the food. It seems the restaurant is understaffed.
Food was terrific as always but this is the second time in three weeks that I experienced extremely slow service. Lunch took two and half hours, and no one checked on us once our meals were delivered.
My fiancé and I️ had an amazing time. We would definitely return.
I ordered the duck breast - medium rare. It came chewy and well done - awful but my dog liked it. The potatoes were served completely dry. the whole meal was just awful. My friend ordered the short ribs (they came out cold- inedible) and the only thing that was good is that she ordered the brusell sprouts. They came out hot and really good. Everything else was over-priced and dog food.
Our server was very nice. We had some apps and drinks - casual night out for us.
We always enjoy coming to the Tavern. This was a brunch occasion - great shrimp and grits, cauliflower hash! The elderberry mimosa was quite tasty! And our server was very gracious in dealing with a table full of older guests with hearing and mobility challenges. Just wish the noise level had been a tad lower.
Friendly, quick and attentive service. The breakfast we had was wonderful, will do this again soon.
Everything was amazing. The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, and everything arrived to the table quickly.
