Phenomenal food! The salmon was exquisite!! Outdoor seating in Ja airy? Priceless!!
Excellent food and service. We will be going back soon!
Copperwood Tavern never disappoints! The food was amazing. I had the venison steak, and I would highly recommend that. The Brussels and the peach cobbler were also amazing. The service was great and we were even treated to a free glass of bubbly since someone had accidentally poured a few extra - such a nice surprise & treat!
Staff outstanding ; the amuse bouche was a chef's experiment- a successful take on fried green tomatoes. Already planning my return. Wonderful happy hour oyster option. Reasonable size portions. Would prefer not to have Mason jars, especially for dessert which made eating the peach cobbler trickier than necessary.
Our 2nd visit to Copperwood Tavern (and the same waiter!). Started the meal with their addictive BBQ popcorn & a glass of red wine. Great, knowledgeable waiter! I chose on the short rib & grilled cheese sandwich with crispy fries. Hubby had an avocado & jalapeno burger & fries. Loved both choices. Hope to return for dinner soon. Their tomahawk steak is fabulous!
When my wife and I had to wait a few minutes past our reservation time, we were offered free mimosas! How very nice! The fried green tomatoes are a must to start your meal! My western omelette was outstanding, and my wife loved her salmon salad! Elias was a superb, attentive server, and could not have been nicer!
Food was amazing (although another person in party said salmon was overcooked). Portions were ENORMOUS, so take that into consideration when ordering. Peach cobbler was delicious, but the serving vessel (mason jar) wasn't practical, which made it difficult to eat and fully enjoy.
We went for Brunch the food was great
Eggs Benedict, Gouda grits (my fav), goat cheese omelet was excellent, we also had oatmeal and a burger was done to perfection. Our waiter was very attentive we really enjoyed our Brunch.
Great food, great atmosphere.
Awesome food, as always. We were celebrating belated New Years Eve and my husband’s birthday.
The ribeye and halibut were outstanding in taste and preparation and size. Wine very good.
One of my favorites. Always impressive and enjoyable
Aside from being one of the only restaurants open on New Year’s Day, the host was very accommodating in seating us early. The food is characteristically great, but some of the portions did seem smaller and the prices slightly higher than lunch prices. I guess that should be expected at brunch. Still one of our all around favorite restaurants!
Try the eggs Benedict lobster! Friendly manager and servers.
I have a full review of my numerous experiences at CW on yelp. This review is for New Year’s Eve: it was middling. Service was pleasant but not good: multiple mistakes including wrong sides brought for multiple diners, entrees arriving 10+ minutes apart on a holiday dinner, etc. meats are always good here but Mac and cheese way under seasoned while Brussels super salty (though crispy and well cooked in that sense). Starters were all good. The desserts were terrible though. I am a CW fan and every year I’ve been in Arlington since it opened I’ve done my holidays here (bday, NYE, anniversaries). The lat two times I’ve dined here since my return after two years it was been a middling outcome. Hit or miss. Too bad Bc I really love the place and drag my fam here over their protests.
We had a fantastic meal at Copperwood Tavern on New Year's Eve. As always, the food was outstanding and a very good value. They offer a nice variety of wine selections and craft cocktails. Ambiance and service were fantastic.
Need to give this place another try. Maybe caught it on a bad busy night with a fixed new years menu. Steak was more well done then medium rare, lobster tail was overcooked and brussel sprouts were incredibly sweet. Sides and desserts were very good as well as the scallops and gnocchi. Would want to give this another shot on a full menu night when they aren't pumping out the same dishes.
Copperwood Tavern is a must-eat location in the Arlington area! With that said - the NYE prefix menu was incredibly lackluster. First and second course were underwhelming. Third course I had the lamb and it was so gamey & fatty. My date had the filet that was perfectly cooked. All in all, I know what this establishment is capable of and they did not come through with their NYE menu. Disappointed.
EXCELLENT and amazing fixed menu for New Year's Eve! The pecan cheesecake should be PERMANENTLY on the menu!!! Thanks new chef! The short rib 2nd course melted in my mouth, like a succulent pot roast, only better! Had a wonderful time, well thought-out menu. Filet was just perfect, almost did not need a knife. Great job!
Great food and wine! Can’t wait to go back
Over the years, the food quality has dropped significantly. The breakfast was blah - the french toast was burned, the coffee was cold, the eggs were rubbery. Definitely need to revisit the quality as I can't see myself going back anytime soon. We visit the area 2X per year and have always spent at least 2-3 meals here but this time we only ate there once and would not be back. With other options available nearby, Copperwood needs to up their game.
Always a great experience. Kind & friendly staff. Fast but efficient service. Highly recommend this Shirlington location!
Great Like that it opens early on the weekends.
Great food. Portions are enormous. And it's a bit loud. Otherwise, great place!
We waited 25 minutes for our table and we waited 35 minutes for our food to be served. The server was great and the food was very good.
Copperwood is a good place overall. They did not handle their Christmas Eve reservations well and we had to give up our reservations and sit at the bar for dinner instead so we could make it to church on time. The service was good and the food too. But, we were disappointed our table was not available as booked. The hostess was attentive and ensured our drinks were covered while we waited, but nothing from the management staff as to the mismanagement of the reservations. I understand the circumstances and wouldn't be dissuaded from visiting again on a non holiday period.
Excellent as always!! Love the copperwood cocoa!
I would recommend Copperwood although when I ordered a drink (Rose Brut) the waitress brought a regular Brut. When I asked her if it was a Rose she said yes. I asked again and she said again yes. I had to take it to the bartender to actually get the correct drink.
In my reservation I asked not to be seated next to the service station and ended up being seated next to the service station.
At the end of the day, it was fine but it just seemed the hostess didn’t read my request. Food and ambience there is great so I definitely will go back. These are just small hiccups.
All well. Food and drinks were excellent. Parking is easy. Staff is friendly. Bit expensive for dinner but worth it.
Fantastic bar and restaurant. Very relaxing and comfortable setting. Service was fantastic, and food was delicious… And the beer was cold! Definitely a good place for date night or just family dining. I had the fried green tomatoes and the BLT. Delicious!!
Excellent brunch-we had mimosas and shared a few dishes. The lighting there was a bit too dim? For it being brunch, not sure how else to describe that. Our waiter was great though-marco 10/10!
Delicious food and great variance in the menu however don’t come here if you’re super hungry.
Always good food and good size portions. Love the French onion soup and the pork chop. We also tried the mashed cauliflower which was very good. The service was good and kept our drinks filled.
Good food and nice rustic decor, but the prices for what they offer are more than most high-end restaurants in DC. Also, I dislike restaurants that pack in tables-for-two side by side where you can hear the conversations next to you. If just two of you, sit at the bar. On a minor note, the steak knives for this place need to be sharpened. Took forever to cut into my duck.
We both had the Tavern Burger in the bar area which was fabulous. The apple "pie" with a scoop of vanilla ice cream was the best dessert ever! The scene was just right for a Wednesday night including excellent service and good value. We are coming back!
The pork chop was ordered medium and most of it was rare and thus couldn't eat it. When we told the server she just shrugged and smiled. It was also very fatty.
Always a nice meal, service pleasant too
The dinner was fabulous! We loved everything about it! Thanks so much!
We had the best waitress!!
