Copperleaf Restaurant at Cedarbrook Lodge Ratings and Reviews
Let's start with the basics. This is a lovely venue, very close to the Seattle (SEA) Airport. It was a conference center that became a hotel. The Copperleaf Restaurant is a fairly new addition to their rebranded property and has achieved a good reputation in the time open. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, sort of a lodge-type feel. They have chosen a unique layout for the restaurant by putting it in the center of what one would think of as the hotel lobby. There is a full restaurant that goes unused off this area, so am unsure why this makes sense, but it was fine. Service in both the bar and restaurant was excellent and the servers fun and knowledgable. I was with two relatives who love good food. The menu showcased two choices for a tasting menu. I decided to splurge and got the more expensive one, paired with wine. It was, I believe, $130 pp. Now, I've traveled all over the world and have had tasting menus galore. For this price, I was sure it would be exceptional. Honestly, I was deeply disappointed. The items presented were tasty and pretty. But the portions were ridiculously small and there just never seemed to be anything substantial. The bill arrived. $429 for three people. With tip, a whopping $500. Now, for three people, paying that amount should have been a spectacular culinary moment in time. Instead, I felt completely ripped off and wished I had taken them to other options where we would have had an outstanding meal with wine for half that price. Needless to say, I won't go back. Those are the sort of financial wounds you don't forget easily.
Enjoyed a lovely birthday lunch with an old friend. Service was attentive but not overly so. food was tasty, presentation was also good. We shared a table on the edge of the room with lovely, serene views. We were encouraged to split orders that would have been too large for either of us. Altogether wonderful!
We have been here a few times and have always enjoyed it. However, this time my husband
had a New York steak and it was filled with gristle, a lot of it not even edible. He should have sent it back, especially for the price, but he didn't. I had the sea bass and it was OK, but not the meaty kind of sea bass that it usually is. We had great drinks in the bar before dinner and the service in the bar and restaurant was good and attentive.
Copperleaf is my favorite restaurant in Seattle, I am so fortunate it is right here at Cedarbrook. The food is lovingly and expertly prepared and served, with fresh and interesting local ingredients. The wine selection is fabulous and I particularly love the different tasting menus with pairings. I am greeted like an old friend when I arrive and treated royally.
My wife and I decided to go back to the Copperleaf for our 2nd time and the food, wine, beer and cocktails were very good. We both did the 5 course tasting menu and my wife did the wine pairing and enjoyed it very much. I think that it is overpriced for what you get and it was very loud with the bar right there as well as the hotel itself had lots of people coming in and out and were very loud. We will be back next month to try it again. Thank you
There were food issues this time. The steak was overcooked. The new Chicken and Dumplings dish is creative but not chohesive or tasty. The desserts were the star. Service is always so so slow. The server stopped to chat with the hostess while we waited....and we were the only table.
I have dined here a number of times, usually for lunch. I was there 2 times earlier in the week. Lunch food quality always seems to be better.
We highly recommend Cedarbrook for any occasion. The outdoor dining is fabulous as is the lounge and restaurant. This is a hidden tucked away gem and we also recommend the spa and overnight experience. Our host, Charlie expertly guided us through the menus, food preferences, and was able to tell us how the food was raised and where it came from. We will definitely return!
Food and dining service was excellent. Bar service was slow, confusing, and mixed up.
We had a long time between connections st Sea-Tac, so headed to Copperleaf for a quiet meal and nice cocktail.
Upon arrival, We ordered drinks at the bar, and wanted to take them outside to catch the sunset. I ordered a Paloma, and my friend ordered a glass of Cabernet. The gal said sure, then disappeared. Truly left the bar, and the other bartender ignored us until we were ignored long enough and asked her what was going on. She made some comment that we didn't quite understand. We then asked if we could just get our drinks from her. I decided to order a cosmo instead, as it seemed the Paloma was a concern. We got our drinks and went outside, and it was lovely. The cosmo was not drinkable. We Then went in to dinner, and Lauren and Evan were fabulous. Evan was our primary server, and he worked so hard to make my drink right. He also had great recommendations for our meal. The food was excellent,. I had the halibut, and my companion had the lam three ways. Evan was great, and my first glass of wine divine. The bar mis-poured my second glass, but by then it was time to head back to the airport.
We will go back. It was not my first time, and the dining experience outweighed the bad bar experience. It really was a shame, as I know that does not represent Copperleaf 's service. There just was no leadership or anyone who seemed to care at the bar during the time we were there.
While overnighting near SEA-TAC airport we decided to try dining at Copperleaf for the first time. We started with tuna tartare and hamachi. Both were very tasty with accompanying sauces and condiments. Main course was pork loin & belly from Spain and scallops bouillabaisse. Both were very flavorful and quite filling. The wine list was quite adequate and we always enjoy a restaurant that serves "amuse bouche" at the beginning
Not enough adjectives to describe the wonderful dinner we enjoyed and the exceptional flavors of the various dishes. Filet mignon perfectly prepared. Lamb tasting so nicely done. Smoked salmon appetizer--heavenly. Root beer ice cream with popcorn -- wow! Service was professional and friendly. Copperleaf is outstanding and the ambience of the Cedarbrook Lodge is stunning!
You might now think an "airport" restaurant would be 5 star! Copperleaf is the exception. It just so happens the destination they purchased is close to the airport. The restaurant ambiance, the outstanding, relevant menu and the knowledgeable, professional staff are all perfection. Truly our favorite restaurant anywhere.
We made a reservation to celebrate our anniversary & we are rewards members. We knew to bring Washington wines since we dined on a weeknight in which case you pay no corkage fee.
The smoked salmon and tuna tartare starter/small plates were super delicious.
Our entrées of a steak and halibut were outstanding.
Charlie certainly made our experience memorable, helping us with wine and service. Lauren was also good at helping us choose our food.
The only drawback is that you are literally sitting right next to other people because the restaurant is so small. It's a little annoying when you're trying to have a romantic dinner and you're listening to others' conversations.
Had a date night with my hubby. The service was wonderful as expected. Our server made every effort to comply with our food specifications. I love that they can custom to a degree. The food was delicious. We had New York steak which was cooked perfectly and well seasoned. The food never disappoints. It's a lovely place to come. Had my 50th BD celebration there 5 yrs ago so we are not strangers to this wonderful place.
We begin and end every overseas trip with a stay at the Cedarbrook Lodge and dinner at the Copperleaf, which never disappoints. Food is interesting--full of options, including small plates if you don't want a big dinner. Service is amazing. Whoever is in charge has a very happy, professional staff. Don't miss the opportunity to have dinner here.
My wife and I were celebrating our 6th anniversary. We had never been to the CopperLeaf and thought it would be a nice treat. We were not disappointed. Even when there was a service lull(not responding to a special request during the reservation process) the restaurant quickly resolved it. The food was excellent, especially the lamb tasting plate, sweet corn soup, chocolate-coconut glacé. Oh and if you have a special Washington state wine, there's no corkage fee!
Second visit to Copperleaf Lodge....fantastic location, hidden right near SeaTac Airport.
On this visit, I tried the Heirloom Tomato Menu/Wine Pairing menu.....DON'T MISS IT!!! Ask for Dean at the bar and Charlie for your sit down dinners....OUTSTANDING representation for a fine restaurant and a fabulous night out!
This restaurant is (quite unbelievably) in an airport hotel, just minutes from Seatac. The architecture, decor, and inside/outside environment are lovely. Our server was relaxed and personable, yet quite professional. We had a beautiful table in a corner with glass on both sides looking out to the tasteful patio surrounded by the chef's garden and restored wetland.
