I think the portions vs price is a little small.
I’ve enjoyed eating here with friends, family and just the two of us. It’s a very comfortable room with great service and food.
Loved the atmosphere, but both my husband and I agreed our split chicken breast had no flavor. We didn’t think it was a good piece of chicken either. Maybe try something else on the menu.
Great food and drinks. Fire Pit outside was a nice place to relax and meet other guests.
Great servcie food and atmosphere. Great for a Saturday night out.
Amber was our waitress. She was amazing! Missy made us a special app which was delicious!
We were very upset to find that the "special" which was a grass fed steak, was more than DOUBLE the price of the regular "substantial" or main course items on the menu. We are not people who are typically concerned with price when we dine out, but we were shocked when the bill came with $64 steaks our children ordered. Moreover, there are a total of four scallops on the Pan Seared Scallop dish, and the pours on the glasses of wine were small. The food was well prepared and the service was good, but the place was noisy (it's a bar) and we will not be returning.
As usual, the meal, service, and atmosphere were terrific. We make dining at the Cooper Grouse a must on each trip we make to Manchester, Vermont. We highly recommend the restaurant for all occasions.
Great experience great waitress. Great service.
It was good but was too loud at times when we all at the table needed it to be quieter.
Warm comfortable and welcoming. Food is always good.
Everyone's meal was very good, the staff were all very curtious and attentive. A little on the pricey side but a nice treat.
Seriously overpriced! 14 for a mixed drink that looked like it came in a shot glass. I couldn't bring myself to pay 42 for a steak in what they tout as a "swanky tavern" so we settled on 19 hamburgers. Now mind you they were very good but seriously overpriced. The music is too loud and it seems like they cater to out of state skiers who are used to paying exhorbanent amounts for "swanky tavern" fare. I wouldn't go back
Fun, Lively atmosphere in a beautiful hotel setting. Excellent food made up for indifferent server.
We visited the Copper Grouse on a Friday night at the end of the holiday week in late February. As we entered through the hotel reception we noticed children running everywhere and in the restaurant there were initially a large number of children eating, which made the restaurant quite noisy initially.
Food very good, with 3 sharing plates enough for a main meal for two people. Drinks good but expensive.
Sadly our waitress was very busy because of the number of people in the restaurant and therefore service was slow with a drink and food item being forgotten ( this was discounted from the bill).
Would visit again but not on a weekend.
We had a great experience! The food was outstanding and I was so pleased to have my gluten free needs met when ordering the special of the evening. The warm gluten free rolls were an added treat. Each meal was cooked to perfection and the portions were more than filling. Tom was attentive as our server checking back often but was not intrusive. He took care in explaining options and answering our questions. This was our first visit but we will be back when we are in town next time
Warm, inviting ambience, spot-on service (thank you, Janet!), and fan-friggin-tastic food made for a wonderful night out. From drinks through dessert (and every step in between—try the steak!), this was an experience to remember. Thank you!
Excellent food, nice drink variety, great atmosphere! Really enjoyed our evening here. A lot of families so not really a quiet romantic spot!
We tried to walk in over the Presidents’ Day vacation but had no luck. We did get a Rez for our last night. Our waitress was just lovely and attentive even though it was a busy night. The food was really delicious. We enjoyed both our salads and our main courses. My daughter got the mussels and I had the burger with truffle fries. We were too stuffed for dessert but I would go again and know that I need a reservation.
We have been coming to this restaurant for years and this time the food was disappointing, the salad was not fresh, the fries were soggy and overly salty and the wait for each item to come out was much longer than expected.
Everything was very nice, except that we were freezing!!! The air conditioning was blowing right on us and it was about 28 degrees outside. We complained and was told it was just the “air circulating” and that the air conditioning wasn’t on. Whatever the case, we ate with our jackets on!!!
Atmosphere was fantastic! Food was delicious and was artistically plated. It was so nice to have a modern updated restaurant with high quality food in the Manchester area! I would consider staying at the Taconic Hotel on my next visit.
Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner at Copper Grouse. The food and ambiance are top notch. The service, however, was quite poor. While our waitress was super nice, it was a scattered experience from the moment we sat down. It took a while for someone to come to our table, our drinks took a while, a salad order was never placed, meals came and we couldn’t get a drink to accompany it... nonetheless, we laughed it off and enjoyed a fun Friday night.
Came with my spouse and kids. 9 )
We were at Taconic for long wknd. Copper Grouse has great cocktails and atmosphere. The scallops were delish. Mushroom risotto was dry but still had decent flavor. Lively with great service.
Our favorite place to eat when in Manchester.
Excellent attentive service, an imaginative menu and warm and inviting decor have made the Copper Grouse our favorite restaurant in Manchester. From the yummy spiced popcorn to robust entrees, we've never had a nibble we didn't enjoy.
Thanks so much for having us! Definitely coming back next time we are in the area.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our experience. We had a reservation, and were seated as soon as we arrived. We were happy to have a small table in the corner, away from the noisy bar (choose a "regular table" instead of "high top" to increase the chances of this). There were many kids present, as we had an early reservation (it was that or an 8:45 p.m. one). Many of the kids continually wandered to their parents' table and out somewhere and then back. The server was nice. The appetizer options were fairly limited. A couple next to us seemed to have ordered a salmon entree to share as an appetizer. We had the Spiced Popcorn. It was fairly basic but only $5 and tasty. My wife really enjoyed her salmon. I really enjoyed my strip steak, although it seemed pricey ($52) compared to the other menu options (e.g. $32 for a flat iron steak and $29 for salmon). I chose their normal fries as my side, and thought they were excellent. The wine we had was good, if a little expensive (most glasses were $12-$16). If my wife and I were to eat there again, we would choose a later reservation to avoid the noisier families with kids. If you are staying in the hotel, it is obviously very convenient.
Four of us on an annual ski trip diner here as we have for the last few years. Food and ambiance both really good. The server could have been a bit more interested and a little less informal. Just a little more training and she would have been excellent.
Great food, great atmosphere...apps came out before drinks...no sharing plates, no sharing spoons, no soup spoon...overall great experience
Love this place. My second time going. Only thing I would suggest is take it easy on the salt & the wine list this time around wasn’t as good. Last time is was fantastic but didn’t really favor any of the whites I tried.
Still looking forward to going back the next time in Manchester!
The restaurant had a great ambiance. Service was great. Food was expensive and just ok. Would not go back for dinner.
Great menu selection. Prices were reasonale and the service was very good as well.
We were there for our anniversary and the food and service were great a little noisy though
Very nice weekend dinner and vibe after a winter weekend of skiing. Wait staff was fun, nice, very helpful and kitchen/menu is very gluten-free friendly with lots of options for our celiac diner. A welcome top option in foodie-limited Manchester.
