Copper Grouse - Taconic Hotel
We tried to walk in over the Presidents’ Day vacation but had no luck. We did get a Rez for our last night. Our waitress was just lovely and attentive even though it was a busy night. The food was really delicious. We enjoyed both our salads and our main courses. My daughter got the mussels and I had the burger with truffle fries. We were too stuffed for dessert but I would go again and know that I need a reservation.
We have been coming to this restaurant for years and this time the food was disappointing, the salad was not fresh, the fries were soggy and overly salty and the wait for each item to come out was much longer than expected.
Everything was very nice, except that we were freezing!!! The air conditioning was blowing right on us and it was about 28 degrees outside. We complained and was told it was just the “air circulating” and that the air conditioning wasn’t on. Whatever the case, we ate with our jackets on!!!
Atmosphere was fantastic! Food was delicious and was artistically plated. It was so nice to have a modern updated restaurant with high quality food in the Manchester area! I would consider staying at the Taconic Hotel on my next visit.
Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner at Copper Grouse. The food and ambiance are top notch. The service, however, was quite poor. While our waitress was super nice, it was a scattered experience from the moment we sat down. It took a while for someone to come to our table, our drinks took a while, a salad order was never placed, meals came and we couldn’t get a drink to accompany it... nonetheless, we laughed it off and enjoyed a fun Friday night.
Came with my spouse and kids. 9 )
We were at Taconic for long wknd. Copper Grouse has great cocktails and atmosphere. The scallops were delish. Mushroom risotto was dry but still had decent flavor. Lively with great service.
Our favorite place to eat when in Manchester.
Thanks so much for having us! Definitely coming back next time we are in the area.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our experience. We had a reservation, and were seated as soon as we arrived. We were happy to have a small table in the corner, away from the noisy bar (choose a "regular table" instead of "high top" to increase the chances of this). There were many kids present, as we had an early reservation (it was that or an 8:45 p.m. one). Many of the kids continually wandered to their parents' table and out somewhere and then back. The server was nice. The appetizer options were fairly limited. A couple next to us seemed to have ordered a salmon entree to share as an appetizer. We had the Spiced Popcorn. It was fairly basic but only $5 and tasty. My wife really enjoyed her salmon. I really enjoyed my strip steak, although it seemed pricey ($52) compared to the other menu options (e.g. $32 for a flat iron steak and $29 for salmon). I chose their normal fries as my side, and thought they were excellent. The wine we had was good, if a little expensive (most glasses were $12-$16). If my wife and I were to eat there again, we would choose a later reservation to avoid the noisier families with kids. If you are staying in the hotel, it is obviously very convenient.
Four of us on an annual ski trip diner here as we have for the last few years. Food and ambiance both really good. The server could have been a bit more interested and a little less informal. Just a little more training and she would have been excellent.
Great food, great atmosphere...apps came out before drinks...no sharing plates, no sharing spoons, no soup spoon...overall great experience
Love this place. My second time going. Only thing I would suggest is take it easy on the salt & the wine list this time around wasn’t as good. Last time is was fantastic but didn’t really favor any of the whites I tried.
Still looking forward to going back the next time in Manchester!
The restaurant had a great ambiance. Service was great. Food was expensive and just ok. Would not go back for dinner.
Great menu selection. Prices were reasonale and the service was very good as well.
We were there for our anniversary and the food and service were great a little noisy though
Very nice weekend dinner and vibe after a winter weekend of skiing. Wait staff was fun, nice, very helpful and kitchen/menu is very gluten-free friendly with lots of options for our celiac diner. A welcome top option in foodie-limited Manchester.
Excellent service from our waiter with 2 large booths for out group of 11.
All good, except that we were seated directly in front of the live music (which was terrific) it was just too loud for my wife and I.
They did try to find alternate seating but it was a crowded holiday weekend so no luck.
Food was really good, excellent ambience, warm decor.
Food was fair but the butternut apple-cider soup was not to my liking. Everything was over-priced.
Very good food, friendly efficient service, enjoyable atmosphere. Gluten free options available.
We had dinner there while skiing at Stratton, about a 15 minute drive and totally worth it! Food was fabulous, everyone had a great meal!
Ambience nice. Our waitress great. Appetizer was great. Entrees ok. Dessert good.
Chef Walsh's tasting menu will make you forget your own name.
The amnesia tasting menu. So limber with allergies, so committed to his food, so talented, so present, a Chef with a distinct voice. And it sounds great.
Over a perfect spot with good food and wonderful service in a great setting.
Copper Grouse is a great restaurant with an even better vibe. We were lucky enough to be staying at the Taconic Kimpton Hotel where the restaurant is located. During the winter the bar scene and dining room is a fun place and gets cozy with the popularity of the restaurant bringing in crowds plus those that are staying at the hotel. They do a great job of taking care of reservations to ensure you get a good level of service, not trying to turn and burn tables. In warmer weather the outdoor seating is awesome both covered and uncovered with an open firepit to create a really fun environment. Highly recommend
I had the burger with bacon jam and fried onions and it was outstanding. The accompanying fries were good but not great. Service was prompt and friendly and the atmosphere very nice. I would definitely dine here again.
everything ordered was flavored and cooked wonderfully.
Beautiful location at the Taconic hotel. Seated us promptly when we arrived, great service and food.
Great good. Try the maple wings and fried cod sandwich!
Have dined at the Copper Grouse several times and it never disappoints! The Locavore plate is a MUST!
Excellent food and wine!
Service was not great - we sat with our menus for at least 15 minutes without a drop of water or a waiter or busboy even glancing at us. Lots of servers milling around, delivering one thing at a time it seemed, so there may be some efficiency needed. The manager was not particularly on top of things. The food was fine, nothing to write home about. But not bad either. Ambience was nice overall.
Not sure it’s necessary to return unless I were to stay at the hotel.
Pretty and well decorated. Front of the house staff was well spoken and friendly. Waitress was not as polished. Large bar and high top area filled with adults. . Back half is filled with standard tables. Tonight (Thursday of winter break) at 6:15pm it was filled with families - parents with 2-4 kids under 10 who were so loud and poorly behaved we considered walking out. Kids screaming. Crawling under the table. Yelling. ‘mom. Mom. Mom’ for the attention of the mother that was ignoring all of these actions. We chose to stay. Food was good. Well presented and tasty but nothing spectacular. Most likely would not go back unless staying at the hotel.
Our waitress Regina was tremendous! 5 stars for her attentiveness and winning personality!
The decor and ambiance was really nice. Upscale casual. Menu had excellent choices and food was delicious. I would definitely eat here again.
Good solid menu with lots of good beers, ales, and creative cocktails. It is a restaurant that makes one feel festive.
