About Copper Fox Gastropub

Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it had no ill effects on the fox.
That’s because the fox has a more tasteful form of curiosity- one that is smart and selective. It is a sentiment that inspired everything on our menu, from our craveable food to our signature copper-mug cocktails.
So, go ahead. Be curious. Try something new. There’s a bit of refined curiosity
in everything we serve; a pinch in every dish, a dash in every drink, from creative dishes to crafted cocktails.
That’s the curious formula for a unique gastropub experience.

My friend her boyfriend and I came here for brunch we ordered the egg white frittata. It was very bland and over cooked. I tried to add hot sauces and she used her boyfriends salsa. Her boyfriend ordered the breakfast burrito. He wasn't thrilled with it. Over priced for barely any egg. The service was great. Not even half filled maybe that is a sign for brunch. Not enticing to go back to.

Loved the Fox Burger and everything about it. Will have cravings for it! They were not able to serve the 7 Layer Chicken Salad as they usually do, but it was so ordinary and not that good that I would not give it another try. But the Fox burger I could eat every day and be happy.

What a lovely surprise! Biscuits to die for... innovative tasty salads...especially the fried avocado Who knew a restaurant attached to a hotel could be such a find. Quiet at lunch, unpretentious and frankly delicious food. I look forward to returning to sample more of the menu... and to see if it is more crowded and noisy in the evening. Otherwise this will go on the neighborhood "go-to" list of favorites.

Surprisingly good. Never expected food in a Courtyard by Marriott to be so creative and delicious. Our waiter, Jason, was fun, friendly, knowledgeable. The general manager (Sorry to have forgotten his name) was extremely personable and seemed to really care about our experience. The chicken dishes that we had were delicious; the biscuits are to die for (DO NOT MISS THEM). Good wine list. Salads are big and interesting, as well. Will definitely return.

There are too many better breakfast places to go to in Chicago. West Egg and David's Primehouse are much better. The cheddar potato cake is awful (really). Not a repeat for me. My friend did like hollandaise sauce on her Eggs Benedict.

Really enjoyed the relaxed but efficient server. I did not feel pressure to order items I did not want. She seemed to meet us where we were in terms of what we wanted. She was the server that works two days a week at the Shedd aquarium. The food was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed and perfect for us.

It is inside of the Courtyard hotel.
Interior is modern and inviting. Great ambience added makes an awesome date spot. Except that it's inside a courtyard.
Food however was sub par for what it is. Meat was overcooked to hard to chew through level.
There was nothing impressive or notable about anything we had. Given the price of the food, I would expect a bit higher quality than a chain restaurant food.
Great for ambience, low key, speakeasy date or small business meeting.

Went with a group of friends and was put into a semi-private room which worked out perfectly for our crew. Was a little disappointed in the entree that I ordered. It just wasn't what I was expecting. Good selection of beers! Would go back here for sure.

Good food for a hotel lobby.

They give the appearance of being a separate space with a half wall, but you basically sit in the lobby and eat.

We happened to stumble on this place on accident. I ordered the chicken 7-layer salad and my boyfriend originally ordered the burger and after placing the order we were told they were out of burgers, so he ordered the crispy chicken sandwich. We also got the biscuits for an appetizer. The biscuits were pretty amazing. The food came out pretty quickly and I was impressed with the salad, it was very fresh and came out to you layered in a clear cylinder. The smoky ranch was a nice dressing and did not over power the salad. The chicken sandwich was awesome and I liked how the picked onions came on the side. The fries are huge, crispy and delicious. The waitress we had (I wish I could remember her name) was extremely attentive and very nice. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a low-key, less busy place for a quick bite.

The restaurant is a very nice, clean and comfortable space. It has a upscale feel but is casual. The staff is very attentive and friendly. The food is very good. We started with the Baked Gouda Mac and Cheese and drinks. I had the Gulf Shrimp and Lump Crab Roll and Judy had the Turkey and Avocado sandwich. Skip the house-made chips and get the Hand-cut fries, you will thank me later.

We really enjoyed the special New years Eve menu. First steak came out cold and as soon as we asked they redid our meals. The value was a good price for the amount of food as well.

Our waiter (I can't remember his name) was phenomenal. He had a great knowledge of the menu and was extremely attentive to us. The food was top notch. I had the risotto and anyone who cooks knows that a risotto is an act of love to make correctly. There was a lot of "love" in my risotto. The cocktails that I had was very good also.

Went in for a mid-week lunch date. The server presented the food specials but not the drink specials. Their signature mule tasted different but the My Jam mule was excellent. The food was reasonably priced and tasted great. One of the ultimate winter combinations, you simply can't go wrong with tomato soup and a gourmet grilled cheese. My expectations were high with seafood rolls I've had in the past; the shrimp/crab roll was good, not great. The drink prices were above average but as expected for a hotel restaurant. The modern decor was eye-catching. Great location off of Michigan Avenue.

Our experience at Copper Fox was sensational. The staff was attentive, but not to the point of being bothersome and the food was amazing from the appetizers to our main courses.

Honestly the people were so nice, but service was slow until we engaged with the supervisor, who was excellent. My boyfriend's fish tacos tasted very fishy and quite like bad fish sticks for their fried and oily presentation. The supe was nice to help us so we wanted to like it, but the food just didn't cut it.

Celebrated our anniversary and they were so friendly with our 10 month old! Phenomenal service! We ordered a seven layer salad and pan seared chicken. Both were delicious but I would've maybe preferred a different dish in place of the chicken. Unfortunately they ran out of the biscuits & Nutella brownie we wanted to order for appetizer and dessert :( will try again next time!

Food was good, good portions. Deviled eggs were excellent and stood out. Service was a bit hit or miss, spent close to 15 minutes without being attended to, as a single diner right next to the bar. That is why I prefer sitting at bars, but it was full. Otherwise the restaurant wasn't packed. Server had to be reminded twice about a Yelp coupon for biscuits. Minor, but shouldn't happen for the price point.

From the head chef to the servers, everyone exudes a great sense of pride, team work and a true sense of serving it clients. The food is really good and thoughtfully prepared. The entire staff makes you feel welcome and very special. My family feels it has found something special. We've gone there for simple lunches and numerous very special family events, and we've always had a great time. I strongly recommend Cooper Fox Gastropub!

Our first visit here (well-located near NU Hospital). We ate early, so it was not at all crowded (but not empty either). Nice decor, server was pleasant, attentive. Our food was good but we were surprised that our bill arrived before we were asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Nonetheless, we would eat there again.

From the very start, we were treated like family. We enjoyed a semiprivate room that was very trendy. The staff tended to our every need. We started out with the calamari and #16 biscuits which were phenomenal. My kids enjoyed waffle style grilled cheese and my wife liked her fish tacos. Unfortunately, my pork porterhouse was prepared well but tasted old. My Brussels sprouts were over charred as well. Wine and beer suggestions worked well with the food. We were very happy overall!

It was ok, nothing special. I ordered a burger and it took a long time to come out and then was barely luke warm. The service was fine. If you're staying at the hotel it's definitely convenient but there are lots of other better restaurants within a block or 2. I wouldn't go back.
