We have dined at the Gastropub several times when staying at the attached Courtyard hotel because of the convenience for my handicapped wife. The food is above average. The service is good. The calamari fries were good, but lacked the flavor and tenderness of calamari rings. The fish tacos were delicious, but contained only tiny pieces of fish. The shrimp and crab roll with rosemary potato chips was also delicious and of ample size for my wife. The wine list has good selections, but be prepared to pay 4-5 times the retail store price for a bottle. The strawberry shortcake disappointed because the biscuits (a stated house specialty) were apparently left over and very dry and tough. The restaurant was quite noisy due to a very active happy hour in the adjoining bar. Will we return? Yes, with a choice of other menu items. Breakfast at this restaurant is always enjoyable.
Loved the ambiance and the food was excellent. Great for business meetings.
Great ambiance and great food! Service is wonderful. Convenient location.
- Baked Gouda Mac & Cheese
- Herb Roasted Chicken
- Diver Scallops.
For dessert we ordered:
- Nutella Brownie with Hazelnut Gelato
- Strawberry Shortcake with Vanilla Ice Cream
You can’t go wrong here, but we really enjoyed the Herb Roasted Chicken! Will be back again!
Gave Cooper Fox Gastropub a try based upon Yelp reviews...and it did not disappoint! Of course we had the biscuits (Free w Yelp check-in) and they were fluffy, flakey and tasty, but we also opted for the lump crab hush puppies w jalapeño, scallion, citrus aioli. Wonderful! In truth, it was too much appetizer to be able to finish our entrées. We selected the gulf shrimp and lump crab roll and the herb roasted chicken. Both dishes were very good. Special thanks to staff members Kerry and Lindsey who were so attentive to our needs. The warmth of reception and quality of foods made for the kind of evening that one could simply sit back, relax, and ENJOY.
Pre-theatre dinner, Lindsey was awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, good rec’s...paid attention to 1/2 veggie 1/2 meat. Overall, great experience...will be back!
We had five in our party for lunch on a Sunday. The menu was broad enough to satisfy everyone. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The bar tender was also particularly attentive. We had a very nice visit and really enjoyed the experience.
Crab hush puppies were amazing! Ambience was cool! Service was excellent!
This is a hotel restaurant. The food was uninteresting. My fish tacos were dry. The famous biscuits every Yelps about were overlooked.
I would skip it.
Meh. Average hotel restaurant. Salad was overdressed and had chicken clumps that looked like canned tuna. Nothing special -- would not return.
We were visiting town for the marathon, this place was great. Our waiter Darius was so great. Good beer And wine selections!
Fox Burger and crab roll were very good. Friendly service. We sat outside on the street. Interior was very welcoming and relaxing. I would go back.
Great food! The biscuits were delicious. We sat outside so the atmosphere was beautiful!
Great Location, Great Food, Great Service, Great Value! We will be back.
Loved stopping in here for dinner before going to the movies. Delicious cocktails and great, attentive service!
I would not recommend the fish tacos. There were huge chunks of purple cabbage, which made up most of the taco filling. Seriously. So. Much. Cabbage. And the mahi mahi was over-cooked. And there was only one very small piece in each taco. For $15, I would have expected enough fish to fill the taco.
We come to this restaurant whenever we are in town, The servers are all wonderful and the food is always outstanding. There are a lot of choices including meatless.
My boyfriend and I stopped here one night pretty late because it was just right around the corner from our hotel. We split a bottle of wine and a bunch of appetizers including the brussel sprouts which were delicious and flavorful! We also got to sit at one of the outside tables and it was very nice!
Great restaurant! Food was great!
Food was good and the service was better.
Loved this place. They had a great beer list and the biscuits were awesome! I would definitely recommend this place.
Great service. Nice atmosphere. Modern decor. The Nutella brownie dessert was pure bliss!
Coffee wasn't very good, service was slow. Overall a pretty mediocre experience.
Great place to eat. Was very surprised as they are attached to a hotel. Throughout the group we had ordered a variety of items, and they were all very good
The service and food were terrific. No complaints!
We were seated on time, but 15 minutes passed without a server coming to our table. We ended up leaving to look for another place to eat.
Delicious! Friendly and talented chef Cortney came out to our table to check on our food. Favorites: The mac and cheese is super-rich and addictive. Love the crispy brussel sprouts. The herb roasted chicken is to-die-for! The skirt steak is amazing!!!
Birthday celebration got there early and we were seated outside which is very nice to people watch. Ordered drinks which were very good.
When it was time to order appetizers my husband ordered the deviled eggs. We were told they were out of eggs. Since we just saw a piece on the news about the abundance of eggs and how inexpensive they were and there are a good amount of grocery stores around us.... couldn't someone go buy a few dozen eggs? The reason.... their produce truck broke down.
Now on to dinner orders were placed and I ordered the quinoa black been burger to be told they were out of that as well. My husband then asked for the check. The hostess was very gracious and comped the appetizers we did order but we won't be going back there.
Fantastic little place with great food and no crowds. Steps away from the Michigan Ave.
Didn't realize the restaurant was in a hotel until we got inside and saw the elevators. Décor was nice....brown/copper tones and understated. It has an upscale feel to it. Once we were seated, I noticed quite a few tables with kids there. Wasn't sure why they were there because the menu at first glance isn't kid friendly beyond the Gouda mac/cheese. But they must have a kid's menu on request as I saw wait staff bring out kid size portions of standard kid's fare to a table. Started the meal with the #16 Biscuits. They came out in a small cast iron skillet. They're flaky, fluffy and crunchy all in the same bite. They are sprinkled with sea salt on top and due to the crunch, I assumed that they must be fried, but they are baked and covered in bacon fat. There was honey butter, which was nice and added a subtle sweetness to contrast the sea salt.
We also got the Calamari fries. I would go back just for these. They are strips that are cut from I have no idea part of the squid, but man they were delicious and meaty. The coating that was used to bread them was not heavy, but savory and tasty. Definitely more calamari than breading. They were paired with a nice tartar sauce and a cold grilled lemon. The grilled lemon was a nice touch as you got the citrus with a touch of smoke flavor to the fries.
For dinner my daughter and I got the Baked Rigatoni Carbonara with a runny egg. The parmesan cream sauce was a bit on the mild side for me, but a little salt and pepper at the table helped it along. Not much in the way of fennel sausage in the dish...looked as if it was added for flavor and not for eating. The sausage itself was delicious, just not enough of it in the dish.
My husband had the fish tacos. Great presentation and he said that they were great in flavor. They are on the small side and do not come with any sides, just the three tacos. I want to give our server Lindsey a 5/5. She was very attentive, friendly and bubbly.
We stopped in for a light meal and did not realize it was a lobby bar for the hotel. Food just ok. Nice service!! A little noisy.
We stopped in for lunch and sat at the bar. It is beautiful inside, and the bartender was very charismatic and helpful. They were out of the gouda mac unfortunately, so he comped us the crab hushpuppies, which were delicious and ended up being our favorite part of the meal. We loved the turkey avocado sandwich on sourdough and fries. The fish tacos were okay. Overall great experience because of the service though.
When we arrived we were told we'd have to wait. I told the hostess we had reservations. She then found us a table. In the restaurant there were many empty tables. Some had dirty dishes on them. Service was poor. The waitress was friendly but failed to offer more water or coffee or jam for toast. The potato casserole was lukewarm at best. It was obvious that there wasn't enough help.
What a great place! I was hesitant when I saw this was attached to the Courtyard, but I am so glad I didn't let that stop me! The food and service were excellent. Jacob was our server and did a wonderful job explaining each dish and definitely did not disappoint with his recommendations. If you are looking for great food in an upscale, relaxed atmosphere - I would definitely recommend Copper Fox!
I wanted a spot for a quiet dinner following a matinee musical. This was it! We sat in the lounge for 45 minutes followed by dinner reservation at 6. The staff was attentive to our needs. Lounge seating is comfy and the cheese/meat board a great starter. For dinner the price point was good and food excellent. I would definitely recommend this to a friend.
This place was awesome! They treated us like royalty. Nothing but praise.
We went here for a casual lunch. The food was great. Service was as well. I would definitely come back and also recommend this restaurant to other people.
Staff was very accommodating to our large group. Delicious food!
Perfect restaurant for a large group. Amazing service. Showed interest in our special occasion, a bachelorette party.
I met a friend for dinner at Copper Fox in the middle of the week. We found the vibe there to be casual despite the understated modern elegance of the decor. Our waiter was charming, attentive without being intrusive, and extremely knowledgable when helping us choose among the different food and drink options. As a gastropub the menu has a nice mix of comfort food and gourmet items to choose from. We had a great experience and will certainly return.
Everything we got was outstanding, the service was great, it was just an outstanding experience.
We got the biscuits as an appetizer, they were amazing. We each had different main menu items, each was fantastic.
After that, we decided to try the desert, and were not let down. The Nutella brownie was sublime.
Gourmet food at regular food prices and serving sizes.
Would go again in a heartbeat!
