Copper Fox Gastropub
That’s because the fox has a more tasteful form of curiosity- one that is smart and selective. It is a sentiment that inspired everything on our menu, from our craveable food to our signature copper-mug cocktails.
So, go ahead. Be curious. Try something new. There’s a bit of refined curiosity
in everything we serve; a pinch in every dish, a dash in every drink, from creative dishes to crafted cocktails.
That’s the curious formula for a unique gastropub experience.

Five of us had a pleasant visit for brunch at the Copper Fox, which has the feel of a hotel breakfast room rather than a gastropub. We all liked the biscuits, which were buttery and even a little crunchy. The honey butter served with them was good and not overly sweet. My sandwich (turkey and avocado) was just o.k., though. My friend ordered a cappuccino and it was brought in a Starbuck's paper cup, which did not go over well.
The Copper Fox has become our go to restaurant when we are visiting NW hospital. The service and the menu are wonderful. Definitely try the biscuits, but besides the biscuits try their deviled eggs. I can not say enough about the Copper Fox.
Service was slow even though the restaurant was fairly empty. The servers need some basic training. We sat with empty plates in front of us for a long time between courses. The waitress stopped by to let us know the next course would be out shortly but didn't take away empty plates. Two other servers walked by us with empty hands on their way to the kitchen and didn't bother to help out.
Nicer place that was still great with kids.
It was great. Little confusion about bottomless mimosas but eventually the server figured it out. Overall a very nice experience. Small portions for the brunch menu!
Great food in a festive atmosphere.
Very excellent. Nice. Very comfortable great services beautiful place
We stopped in on a Friday night for happy hour. The $1 biscuits were delicious. We enjoyed the crispy Brussels sprouts and calamari sticks. The service was fast and friendly. Nice atmosphere.
The restaurant is fine, but nothing special. Food was ok, but not great. There are so many great choices to eat while in Chicago, this is not one of them.
My 2nd visit. The Fox Burger is by far the best burger I’ve ever had!
Great food and nice atmosphere. Service was good. We ate here for dinner and the kids enjoyed their food off kids menu also.
We stopped in for a bite before going to a movie. The Deviled Eggs were delicious. The Cheese Quesadilla was out-of-this-world. Some of the cheese leaks outside and fried a nice golden brown, adding lots of flavor and texture. The All-American burger was as good as anything from Au Cheval—often named the best burger in Chicago and one of the best in the US. The Maple Bacon Old Fashioned was perfectly made and that Bacon Candy on top was killer! Warm ambience and super-friendly staff.
Food was pretty good! Not as great as I thought it would be from the menu. Hash browns were underdone and tasted like they had been frozen. Bacon seemed like it was the pre-cooked microwave kind. Other than that it was pretty good and a nice ambiance. Service was also very nice.
Did not realize this was part of a hotel. Very hotel like kind of atmosphere/food.
Good for nice burger or pub fare. Good value overall. No charm but comfortable dining and bar area.
Food and service were amazing. They even accommodated my request for a birthday balloon.
Didn’t realise that this was in the lobby of a hotel. Food was good and service solid.
Excellent food from a relatively small menu. Good service.
We came in for a light dinner and couldn’t have had a better experience. We each wanted salad with some fish and a craft beer and our waitress steered us towards splitting the salad and each getting salmon which was cooked perfectly and paired with a fantastic salad and an IPA brewed just for the pub. Everything was perfect and inexpensive. Would come again in a heartbeat.
The starters were good but the main entree was very disappointing. I sent it back because it was under cooked. They supposedly remade it but it was once again very under cooked (like crunchy rice under cooked...). The server was very kind and took the meal off of the bill.
Very good happy hour specials. Drinks were excellent. The service was prompt and friendly. Fish tacos were great!!
The location is perfect for tourists in the city. The wait staff were very helpful, friendly and energetic. We went for Thanksgiving dinner, everything met our expectations and my son who is typically pretty picky about food choices, found a nice variety that met his expectations.
The food was good but not exceptional. Great service and location.
Great food, exceptional service. Definite come back to on next year's trip to Chicago.
Went for brunch and they were out of the menu item I selected. Took 30 minutes to get our food even though the place was mostly empty. Quality of food was ok at best. This place is part of the hotel next door which may explain the whole substandard experience
We stumbled across this place last year & it was amazingly good. You just don't expect a hotel restaurant to be outstanding. We liked the charcuterie appetizer so much that we did it again thus year & I had the best burger ever!
Food was ok. I recommend the mac the chicken was great. The rest of the sandwich was odd. Fries were bad and cold. My fiancee had the burger. It was of poor quality. The most ridiculous thing was that they tout their "homemade pickles" but they literally only give 1 pickle slice. I think that we could have had a better meal at a fast-casual restaurant (mBurger, Nandos, Vapiano). Service was not exceptional and food took a long time--even though the restaurant was less than 1/2 full & we ordered appetizers. I will not go back.
Great service. Good food. A bit too noisy. Overall good value
Our food was delicious. The breakfast burger was outstanding. The crab hush puppies were perfect.
The food and service was good, but this is just a small place next to the lobby of the hotel, only separated by a chain curtain.
Not impressed. Long wait times and food was just ok. Our waitress was very kind and bought us our drinks because it took almost an hour for our food to arrive. I had ordered at shrimp/crab roll with fries. The sandwich was meh and the fries tasted as though they had been sitting out for a while. Except for our waitress, this was disappointing overall. Would not return.
The food was overpriced and not particularly good.
I met a few of my college friends when I went to the Copper Fox. We got a table in a private room without asking that was just wonderful. The food and service were amazing! We had such a lovely evening.
Convenient and great place to grab a burger while downtown. The service was good ... the management even stopped by to ask if we were happy. Nice to see !
The food was amazing! Started out with the fried avocado and roasted Brussel spouts and ended with the salmon! Staff was very attentive.
The service was good and the restaurant was nice. However, the food was disappointing: the steak sandwich was tasteless and dry, and the bread it came on seemed stale. Also, we were not asked how we would like our steak cooked and it came out very well done. The kale Caesar salad had very little kale which was again disappointing. I felt for the money I paid, the food was substandard.
Had a fabulous time at Copper Fox. Took my mom when she came into visit. Our server Sylvie and manager Lindsay were fabulous; they were quite personable and attentive! The drinks were incredible; the Honey To-Do List was one of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Food was good especially the #16 Biscuits. I never write reviews but the staff made this a great experience.
This is a great place. Worth a visit. Local Chicagoans need to make this a regular stop. The bartender, Nick, is a great guy and makes fantastic drinks. Can't say enough nice things about him or his skills behind the bar. The variations on a Moscow Mule were delicious. And I had the best Vodka Gimlet ever!!! The appetizers were excellent, especially the roasted brussel sprouts with candied jalapeños. Even if you think you don't like brussel sprouts, you'll like these! This place is a gem!
The food, drinks and service were outstanding! I did make a reservation and we ended up being seating in the private dining room - we were a group of 5. Such a comfortable and cozy room that really enhanced our evening.
We had breakfast here on our anniversary. It wasn’t busy but service was pretty slow. Food was excellent though!
