Food came out COLD. Took forever for them to bring fresh, hot entrees. Server was slow, forgetful and annoying. Fairly empty restaurant, yet sat us by patio door where lots of people going in and out on a rainy day.
The food is fine, but expensive for what you get. It's not bad but not great, but not as good value. Unfortunately, service was terrible. Our waitress forgot drinks, ignored our table, forgot to order the appetizer, and was generally terrible. Even with their team service, the experience was poor.
Everything was near perfect. The only problem we had was the table size. It was extr6 small for a party of three. This became very irritating to us all
We were about to leave, except it was mothers day. I had made reser6 in advance and my mom is handicapped and we didn't want to chance not being able to have a nice dinner somewhere else
I thought we would've gotten a booth with advance notice we were coming there to dine .
Everyone really enjoyed their meals. Portion size was generous and presentation was top notch. Our waiter was efficient, friendly, and professional.
I love Copper Canyon Grill and eat there fairly regularly when I meet friends for lunch or have an occasion to celebrate with my family. Mother's Day is always an extremely busy time at every restaurant, but it felt as if they were particularly short-staffed for this particular holiday. Our server was terrific - as kind and accommodating as she could be - but she had a significant number of large tables to wait on and we understood that she (and the staff in the kitchen) could only move so fast. We had thought with 5:00 reservations we'd be on the earlier end of the dinner-time dining, but it appeared as if the restaurant was packed all day. For my daughters and me, it wasn't a problem at all, but if you have younger children in your group, you might want to consider the fact that the wait - especially on a holiday - will be longer than usual. Other than that, I love this place and highly recommend it for lunch or dinner.
Our server was amazing and the food was great. Loved the chicken, prime rib and BBQ ribs. And they even had my favorite desert...key lime pie.
We went for Mother's day and the place was a zoo, but I must add - the person @ the front check-in was very professional with each party that came to check in for their reservation. We definitely would come back again and again! Thank you!
Granted, it was Mother's Day. Our table for 6 was not ready. We waited at the bar where we could order drinks and an appetizer. We were there 25 minutes and no one came up to us. There were two bartenders. I spoke to the one and asked if we could order. He said, yes one minute and never returned. I was ready to pass out from heat and the fact I hadn't eaten anything all day. Finally, we flagged the one bartender down and ordered water and an appetizer, at which time, we were seated. Our waitress was amazing. Her name was Ann and she attended to our every need. I would NOT recommend going here for a special occasion but I'm sure lunch and/or dinner would be fine on any other day.
Copper Canyon is one of my favorite restaurants. However, this particular experience was below par. It was Mother’s Day brunch and it seemed to me that they overbooked reservations. Our family has enjoyed the brunch for several years but this year was a disappointment. We will most likely go somewhere else next year. I will continue to patronize Copper Canyon, but not at such a busy time.
We've been to Copper Canyon Grill a number of times in the past year since we moved to Gaithersburg/Rockville area. It's great for special occasions. The server we had on our most recent visit for Mother's Day, was very sweet and attentive, but not too attentive! We like to dine here because they typical don't rush you through your meal and allow you to enjoy the dining experience and your company. We will definitely be back.
We attended the Mother's Day brunch/breakfast and the food was great and the waiter was excellent.
Using OpenTable, we had a reservation for six, at 7:45 PM on a busy Saturday evening before Mother’s Day. When we arrived, our table was ready and we were seated right away. Wonderful experience and excellent food all around from the roasted chicken, crab cakes, chicken parmigiana, and salmon. We also had a few children in our party, and they enjoyed their kid’s cheeseburger and fries, and chicken fingers. Unfortunately we were all too full to get dessert; definitely next time.
Great as always!
I had not dined here in quite a long time and was pleasantly surprised. Our meals came out quickly and the salmon was by far the best I had eaten in a long time!
The weather was beautiful. We sat outside on the covered patio. We are regulars. The service and food are always terrific.
Consistently delicious food. Great service from the greeters, wait staff, bar tenders, and managers. Everyone is cheerful and helpful.
I've eaten here before with satisfactory results. This time little was satisfactory. My wife's soup had a three inch piece of plastic. My ice tea had something that looked like meat floating in it. The server's response was just to replace the offending items without an apology or offer to take the soup off the tab. The remianing food was not well prepared either. My spinach was barely cooked and the fish was dry. I was not pleased by this visit.
Food was excellent
Had the Prime Rib and the Full Rack both were excellent. The Green Bean were a little two Verde. Overall an excellent time (even if a bit too loud).
Great restaurant, great atmosphere, great food. The only complaint is that we felt that our server was rushing us. We took a pause in eating and just started chatting, all our plates still filled and our server comes up like 20 mins into the meal to ask if we’d like boxes to go.
SO nice to be able to sit outside and enjoy a great meal. I love the food at Copper Canyon but don't like the too-dark too-noisy interior nearly as much as the outside. It was a nice spring evening but they had the outdoor heaters on, so our hesitation to sit outside (in case it got too cool) vanished and WOW did we have a great meal. Great service, fantastic ribs, great salads, and a great hamburger. Highly recommended.
Fabulous service and delicious food.
Had reservation but waited 30 min past reserved time while other people were seated before our party of 3. Waiter didn’ tell us about specials until asked and took forever to refresh drinks and provide napkins/plates. My steak was cold and chewy for a tenderloin. Other meals were unappetizing and wait service extremely slow throughout. We may never return.
Prime rib was perfect and not overly done. Beef ribs were just short of fall off the bone tender(as they should be) and drinks were tasty. I’ll be back soon.
Met friends for dinner and had a reservation. Arrived on time and had to wait about 7 minutes for a table , not bad. I had the burger, my husband had the french dip. Both were very good. Our friends had the ribs and the trout. Both said they enjoyed it. The beer selection was fairly good as well. The server was pleasant and reasonably attentive. This place stays busy for a reason.
Food and drinks were delicious. My steak was cooked perfectly and I was able to customize my drinks so they were less sweet.
We love Cooper canyon, the food is fabulous. The wait was a bit long, given the fact we made reservations. Highly recommend for any occasion.
Extremely disappointed with the service and care by the staff. Reservations were made for 1 pm but we were not seated till almost 1:30 pm. Host said they were simply overwhelmed. The state of being overwhelmed continued throughout the meal with long wait times to be served and even receive the check. Additionally, the server rarely checked back on us and had to be reminded several times for a high chair. However, the quality of the food was excellent and is the only reason I will consider returning to Copper Canyon.
This is a great restaurant- it is one of me and my husband's favorite places to get a good meal locally.
Great place to celebrate our anniversary with amazing food and excellent service!
Few healthy choices—lots of fat in everything, with huge portions. Left unhappy. Also, they put a nut in a house salad—a problematic surprise for my nut allergic friend. They did apologize profusely.
We had a large group with multiple folks with food allergies or issues and the staff accommodated everything with no problems. We had to dine outside due to seafood allergies and the staff was also very helpful with that experience. The food was also great!
My family made 2 separate reservations for the same time since open table did not allow us to book for 9 people under 1 reservation. Copper Canyon was so accommodating as they were able to put as in one table, outside by the fireplace as we requested. Our server, Brian was very good, specially with 2 people in our party with food allergies. The food were delicious and we all enjoyed our lunch.
The food is delicious and tastes very fresh. The staff is very professional.
Made last minute reservations for brunch Easter Sunday. Very enjoyable experience starting with our waiter Dan, complimentary Mimosa’s and Bloody Marys with our cornbread appetizer and eggs Benedict. Service and meals have always been excellent here. I am a frequent customer for lunch and dinner. I recommend Copper Canyon to friends when they ask for a Rio recommendation.
We have been to Copper Canyon many times, and generally like it. The issue this time was that three out of six in our party ordered the salmon, and it was a salt mine - way, way over-seasoned. When we mentioned it to the waitress, she compounded the offense by saying "oh that's just how we make it." When I said that I had been ordering salmon for decades, and had ordered it at Copper Canyon before, she reluctantly asked if I wanted something else. We didn't have time to re-order, so I ate it, and the saltiness stuck with me for hours. Otherwise the food was decent. One other person in our party had the ribs, which are very good. May go back, but not soon.
Great restaurant! Excellent food and service! Our server was great - very attentive and friendly and was able to accommodate some of our parties dietary needs. Definitely would recommend this location to others. I've been to Copper Canyon in Largo and Silver Spring - this is my favorite!
Very ordinary. Big on quantity but quality just fair.
Food was great and server was excellent. Will be coming back.
