Enjoyable outdoor dining experience, a longtime favorite.
Coppa is consistently great. Never been disappointed.
During our visit to Coppa, we had a dish from every section of the menu aside from the pizza. It was a truly sensational meal that hit every note and pleased our taste buds. The service was also fantastic. We had a great waitress who was upbeat, knowledgeable, and made us feel so welcome. I would highly recommend Coppa.
Had a fabulous time! The menu is creative. The service was very good.
Al fresco dining, great service, and delicious arancini!
We had a 9:15 reservation, as soon as we sat down we were greeted with “you will only have till 11:15 pm to eat” more then enough time we thought, sure enough our appetizers were coming out before our wine even made it to the table. Food was pretty decent. While we were finishing our main course the entire restaurant staff started putting chairs on the bar an stacking tables, kind of unpleasant to sit an eat through, also not to mention we went on a pretty cold night, one of the staff decided during clean up time to just leave the door wide open while we were still enjoying our main course. Overall would probably not recommend this restaurant or probably be returning.
Couple of issues:
- The music selection being very loud, and not appropriate for dinner
- Dinner is small portions, which is perfectly fine, and appreciated, but the price for the portion sizes was a bit high.
Food and service is great.
Birthday. Very nice
While on the expensive side, the food was absolutely superb. Everything we got was delicious, and was piping hot when it got to us. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, a great experience!
We were asked about allergies and I told the waiter I AM allergic to spicy foot reason why I ordered my pizza with NO SPICY PEPPERS which was listed as an ingredient on the pizza style I chose.
To my surprise and after a few slices I noticed and felt the spicy taste in the pizza. Guess what, they were RED SPICY PEPPER FLAKES.
REALLY COPPA, are you trying to kill me. Really disappointed and upset at the disregard for a customer health needs and allergic request. !
Coppa continues to deliver, now with really nice outdoor space again, great service and, most of all, awesome food. Fantastic.
The menu was different than from the pictures I saw on Yelp. I thought the pizza was salty and not worth the price but maybe that’s because I have good pizza in NY.
Everything was good right from the start. Our waiter was kind and made great suggestions. From the starters we shared, to the two entrees, the cocktail and eventually a bottle of wine, it was a perfect night out!
Outstanding food that straddles the line between comfort food and gourmet. Quantities were just right. A good date restaurant
Coppa's food is always excellent and their environment is welcoming and romantic. We sat outside and the experience was highly relaxing and enjoyable. Perfect for a date night or a meet up with a small group of friends.
My friend & I had such a fabulous dinner last night, as usual, with gracious service. Cheese plate (with strawberry jam), sea bass crudo, arancini & clam pizza were all flawless. I am also loving your extended patio! Thank you for providing a delicious, covid friendly experience.
Coppa is hands down one of the best restaurants in Boston.
Great food and drinks as always - looking forward to the atmosphere returning!
Great food. Outdoor space is great
Love Coppa. One of our favorites in the South End. However, service was poor. No plates or silverware when our pasta came out. 3 pieces of cheese for $14. The best meats around town!
Coppa was either really strong or really weak. Half the food was great the other half was not. And the location and building were great, but the music and service were lacking. Two examples for you...
First, we had a 2pm reservation on warm, sunny Saturday afternoon and sat inside next to a beautiful open window. All other customers were outside. Soul music on the speakers set a chill vibe- it was great.
And then the music changed to a crazy up tempo Euro-style hard rock music from the 90's. It was the polar opposite of the original music. The music went back and forth like this: mellow and vibey and then head banging and spastic. I then asked to see if they would consider keeping it on the soul music since it was a good vibe and perfect for hanging out on a Saturday afternoon. The server said the bartender gets to set the music and he won't be able to change it. That was disappointing.
Second example, we ordered the Capesante described as "roasted scallops in the shell, puttanesca, black olive..." Sounds great- being from Maine we love fresh seafood like scallops. The dish was delicious, but it was 1 scallop not "scallops" with an 's' like the menu said and at $18 we thought it was a little steep for 1 scallop.
In comparison, three weeks ago I bought a pound of fresh scallops from a neighbor fisherman for $19- not per scallop, but per pound. Of course I had to cook them. But, at Coppa that single scallop was absurdly expensive, but delicious.
So there it is: for every good or great thing was an equally bad or disappointing thing. And for a $180 lunch (tip and mandatory 10% COVID upcharge included) we hoped for more. So when you go I bet you'll like 'some' of it and hopefully you'll get better value per dollar than we did.
Food was great, service was great, but we waited 35 minutes for the table we had a reservation for. Frustrating because it put a damper on a special occasion.
Last minute reservation for outdoor dining. Staff friendly and attentive, food service timely. Bottle wine prices fair. Shared insults, think slice pizza and cavatelli with spicy sausage . Will be back!
We came in knowing it was a small plate place, but some of the dishes were pretty ridiculous. When the menu says scallops and only one comes out on the plate for $18, you can’t help but being disappointed. Everything was quite delicious, but not to the level of nuance that makes the prices anywhere near worth it. Spent $100 and still had to go home and cook a second dinner we were so hungry. Wonderful ambiance, drinks, and service, but until those portion sizes change, we will not be going back.
Amazing service and experience all around.
Our server Kevin was a real rockstar and provided us the best dinner experience possible!
Amazing food! Amazing drinks! I will come back again!
Food was delicious but service was abominable. Server was absent, main courses arrived 45 minutes apart for different diners. One main dish arrived before the server had brought the wine, which we had to ask for repeatedly.
Could not have had a better experience. Have been to Coppa many times and look so forward to returning
Delicious food, clever cocktails and a large outdoor patio in a quieter part of the South End. Would highly recommend for a romantic date or a fun evening with friends.
Food and service was great but prices were on the higher side for small dishes.
Everything was perfect! Service was exceptional!!
Thank you!! Can’t wait to go back again!
The Tartufo pizza was incredible! Most certainly recommend getting 2 pastas as well
really good food
and good service. outdoor dinning area was cute and fun
Coppa is a favorite restaurant and we have missed it during the past year of pandemic precautions. It was quieter than we remember for our weekday 4 to 5:30 PM dinner. The food was exceptionally well prepared - as always - and the service was good. We gave 4 stars for "ambiance" because although the tables are 6' apart, the chairs are not. We are fully vaccinated and are fine with this - but if you are not, that is something to keep in mind.
We highly recommend Coppa for your next, special meal.
PS: over the years, we have found that the higher priced wines are almost always also their best value, i.e., the most reasonable amount of "restaurant markup"
Great food, friendly staff. Excellent job of socially distancing tables
A must must do for the most delicious food in town!!!!! What a perfect night!
Love Coppa!!! The staff is so kind and the food is amazing !
