Copley's on Palm Canyon Ratings and Reviews
We were drawn to this place because of reading about its connection to Cary Grant's history. We loved eating outside--the patio area with its lights and fountains was beautiful. The food was delicious--enjoyed salad and entrees immensely. Our waiter was attentive and thoughtful. A great evening out for a special date night.
Outstanding!! I had the Ahi tuna special with a large scallop—melted in my mouth and seasoned perfect. My hubby had the sea scallops which were also exceptional—cooked to perfection. The courtyard was filled with lighted Christmas garland so we felt like we had entered a wonderland. Service was fantastic
Great food and ambience, but the service and ability to talk and hear one another was the best. Beautiful on the patio at night. History of the hous, grounds on the back of me u would have been nice. Grant name a draw want to hear more about it. Food was wonderfully prepared, well priced and well presented, specialty drinks lovely. Loved that large parties could be accommodated making it a location for ultra nice events and important occasions. Open table made everything easy.
Amazing ambience with a great outdoor courtyard. The weather was perfect when we ate there for Thanksgiving with our two kids (ages 12 & 14). There were other families there as well. The only negative was I specifically wrote in my reservation that is was my husband's birthday. And then I again reminded the host who said he would take care of it. When our server brought our dessert he forgot and I had to mention it. So he brought an additional dessert plate to our table later. Kind of a bummer but our family agreed we would go again.
In my opinion, Copley's, much like Spencer's, caters to the old skool Palm Springs crowd. And good on 'em for it. However, I found the menu terribly unexciting, the food just ok and everything else pretty much meh. For what I spent, I would definitely like a more tantalizing dinner.
It was great. When I made a reservation I wrote a note for just a favor just to make it more special since it is my boyfriend's birthday. At least if the restaurant know that it was his birthday and already knew about a special dessert then that would have been nice. What is the use of asking for that note then. The experience was alright.
I'm always impressed with the total experience, although this time, neither of the guests who had the short-rib special found it something they would order again; though good, it was a rather small serving and didn't wow anyone. It wasn't something we couldn't find a better version of elsewhere for far less than $38.00. The rest of the food was as expected and the dining experience is top-notch each and every time.
Every time I dine here, my only consistent quibble is that we will never have extras, and for the price (cocktails, appetizers, soup/salad, dinners, wine for one, desserts & tip for 3 @ $400+) I suspect I should feel more than simply content to have had a good meal. There are lots of comparable restaurants in the area (Pacifica Seafood, Sullivan's Steak House, Fleming's, Ruth's Chris, etc.) that will cost around the same but leave you able to re-enjoy what's left of the meal @ home a day or two later.
That being said, I still find my way to Copley's once or twice a year.
Best meal in PS. We were in PS for a week, and we like good food. We did almost every one of the TripAdvisor top 15 or so, and this was hands down the best meal we had. Beautiful setting, luxury ambiance, wonderful food, flawless service. Worth every penny! (and not THAT many!)
Our 1st time back in about 2 years. The ambiance is so nice, our waiter attentive, the cocktails strong. Would I go back? Probably not. The food was either not cooked correctly or in my case bland. The desserts were delicious so the meal ended on a high note. Maybe it’s me but for $100 per person I expect more than ambiance.
