Copley's on Palm Canyon Ratings and Reviews
VERY DISAPPOINTED IN VALENTINES EVENING MEAL. NO BREAD WAS BROUGHT UNTIL WE FINALLY ASKED; WORST WAS THE QUALITY OF THE FILET-BEING FROM BEEF COUNTRY, WE KNOW GREAT MEAT, AND THIS WAS NOT GREAT MEAT. IT WAS NOT THE LEAST BIT TENDER, WAS HARD TO CUT AND CHEW. WE UNDERSTAND IT WAS A BUSY NIGHT, BUT THE STEAK OFFERING FELT MASS PRODUCED AND MASS COOKED.
COPLEY'S HAS ALWAYS BEEN A FAVORITE, BUT THIS WAS NOT THEIR BEST OFFERING.
This was a Valentine celebration and we sat outside in the court yard that was very romantic. The menu was a price fix, but the choices were excellent and the food was outstanding. I had the fish which was prepared perfect. My friends each had the fillet that was tender and the sauce was excellent. My accompanying friends loved the ambiance and we were very comfortable with the heaters that were available. The waiter was very attentive and his staff was equally good. Would definitely put it on my list to return. lb
Copley's was recommended on TripAdvisor as a very good restaurant in Palm Springs so we chose it to celebrate ourWedding Anniversary. It has a lovely setting and we chose to eat outside. The waiter was very kind and the food exceptional. We were there during a special pris fixe menu evening, so I do not know if they have regular order from menu times, but the food was wonderful. This is a special occasion restaurant to be sure. The price is high but you will remember and savor the evening for many years to come.
Lamb chops and Ahi Tuna were phenomenal! Beet salad and Caesar salad were extraordinary! Short ribs were okay! We dined outside in the courtyard. Had a nightcap around the big fire pit! Fantastic evening with my husband and special friends. We all loved the place! On rotation from now on for this Texas group 😘
We had a good meal at Copley's - food was excellent, with some interesting twists on traditional dishes. The "pineapple croutons" in the Caesar salad provided a sweet (and fun) contrast to the other flavors of the salad. The scallops were in a delicious and subtle curry/corn broth. The spicy meatballs that accompanied to scallops were interesting and seemed consistent with a recent trend that I've observed, to add hot seasonings to seared scallops. As someone who enjoys the sweet and delicate nature of scallops, I don't fully understand/appreciate this trend, but the meatballs were an interesting addition to the dish. The banana/chocolate bread pudding was excellent.
The evening got off to a bit of a rough start, when we were seated at a table in the bar area. Since we were among the first diners of the evening, I was surprised to be seated there, as the bar was busy and noisy. I noticed that subsequent "indoor" diners were all led to a larger (presumably quieter) dining room, so I'm not certain why we'd been stuck next to the bar. And unfortunately, being seated in this area resulted in us being overlooked/ignored for a long time (NOT because they were too busy, at that point), until we finally asked for a server. If we'd been familiar with the restaurant, we would have asked for a table in the main dining room.
The service ended up being very good, once it was all settled. It would have been appropriate - and classy - had the house comped something to make up for that rocky start. But again, why place us in this section in the first place?
Copleys is my favorite restaurant t in PS. Love the food and the staff.
This time two of us had outstanding meals, but one guest ordered the chicken which was dangerously undercooked.
It was redone, appropriately, and soup offered while he waited, but I felt that a restaurant of this caliber should never have this happen.
My husband and I chose Copley's for our anniversary dinner during our Palm Springs weekend. We were attracted by "Chef-owned", location and the menu. When we arrived we were happily pleased by the comfortable and attractive setting, the outdoor courtyard fireplace and lovely seating on the patio with a view. We chose to eat outdoors and the temperate winter evening was made perfect with well-placed heaters. Our waiter was helpful, pleasant and perfectly attentive. The food was simply excellent; we shared a lobster appetizer, each had a salad [Caesar & Butternut Squash], he had a short-rib entree special and I had the jumbo scallops with pork meatballs. We completed our dinner with the peach creme brûlée. Every bite was just completely enjoyable and remarkable. We highly recommend a visit to Copley's and we will certainly return.
As wonderful as always. Celebrated both a birthday and anniversary and it was terrific. An old martini called the Aviation was a stand-out (made with English Bulldog gin, my favorite), and the rack of lamb and the ahi tuna were both perfection. Just one of the best and most consistent restaurants in Palm Springs.
We had a lovely evening. The food was superb, portion sizes were just right. The only thing I did not like that seemed out of place was the paper table cover. To me it just was not a fit with the high quality of everything else. (Cerntainly not a reason to say I wont be back) The service was impecable. Thank you Copley's for a memorable evening. See you next time we are in the desert valley.
20 year local who has eaten at Copley's many times over the years. Came here for an anniversary dinner and was disappointed with the food for the first time ever. Service was top notch, and the setting was all that I remembered - but everything from the bread to the appetizers to the entrees was mediocre at best.
Will give it another try sometime but not in any hurry to return.
The patio is here is the place to sit - so romantic with the twinkling lights in the trees. The service here is an A+. Our waiter couldn't have been nicer. The food is very good, I just was surprised that there were no pasta entrees on the menu. There was a lot of meat. I was in the mood for pasta. I found that a little strange. But I love this place and highly recommend. Plan on sitting by the big fire pit after dinner - that's fun.
Full of class, attentive professional service, wine list bar none, - historic knowing we are sitting on THE Cary Grant's guesthouse patio. The fire pit able to be reserved is quite unique and spectacular and fun. This is not your every day dinner as it is pricey but OH SO worth it for that special night to treat yourself. As far as comparison to the other pricey restaurants in Palm Springs( and we have tried them all) this is number one for class, food and ambiance.
Great ambiance and fantastic service. The food was very good-- not the greatest ever or most creative but above average and presentation was beautiful. We each had a salad to start, then for entrees the beef filet (cooked perfectly, great flavor) and ahi tuna special- also cooked perfectly. The service and atmosphere are special here, really nice spot.
