Copelands of New Orleans Ratings and Reviews
The bread pudding is an attraction to us for the special birthday guest in our group. The restaurant was out of bread pudding. This was on a Sun evening, early and the place was not even busy. The service is routinely a problem at Copeland's - slow and in attentive. It proved the same this time, but we wen it knowing that. The manager promised free desert next time, but we found that tacky was to recover from the situation.
The food was good. One of the hostesses was very rude. We asked to be seated away from the kitchen and I kid you not that the hostess attempted to seat us right next to the kitchen door. We had to insist for another choice. We were then seated and waited 15 minutes until I had to request a waiter. Once he came he was nice, but very slooooow. When the meal was over, we requested our check at 8pm. Around 815 pm, our check finally arrived after I once again had to ask another waiter to find our waiter. The atmosphere is good. Sitting in the bar would probably be a good experience. Very lively.
I've eaten at Copelands for years, but this location always seems to struggle from a service perspective. I haven't been here in quite some time because of it, and I was hopeful that there would have been improvement. Sadly, it wasn't there. On this visit, we sat for at least 20 minutes as servers walked past without acknowledging us until we flagged someone down and asked him to take our drink order. About 10 minutes later, our drinks eventually came. At this point, a server picked up our table and things were decent. Ironically, another table next to us had the same issue around this same time. Food is good here, so I wish they would fix these service issues.
We came here because I lived in New Orleans for years and wanted to give my Mom (her birthday) a taste of New Orleans. Initially the service was great due to an accident I had to call and ask for move back the reservation. The place itself is nice the ambience and all. When it came to the food and service I was really disappointed. Our waitress was nice but didn't listen very well messed up about 4 people orders including the birthday girl. An waiter came to intervene but forgot to advise her to take off the previous plates so my sister was double charged. When she asked for a manager the manger refused to come out and talk. Also we over heard a cook saying f*** them due to sitting close to the kitchen. I don't know if he was talking about us but it was highly unprofessional. My Moms birthday dinner was short of a disaster after a hour drive to this restaurant
21st Wedding Anniversary The staff acknowledged our day They made us feel like they were celebrating with us The food was hot and delicious Our waiter was great and attentive to all of our needs The Manager went out of her way to accomdate our needs Great experience I highly recommend Copeland
The food and service was very well below par. I asked for the shrimp and grits that use to be on the menu but no longer is on the menu. The bread pudding was very stale and the outside was warm but the inside was still cold. That was sent back the waitress did ask did we want another dessert on the house but we decline. The food and service both is beyond standards from our last visits with Copeland.
This is one of our favorite restaurants! We drive and hour and a half to eat here because it is so worth it. Fantastic food, great atmosphere, attentive service and reasonable prices make it a family favorite. We were saddened that the location in Addison closed because it is so much closer to us, but this location offers a superior experience.
I loved the food, but the service could have been better. The seafood tasted very fresh and the red beans and rice were amazing, just like I get in New Orleans. As I mentioned, I was a little disappointed in the service. The restaurant was not crowded but we had to wait quite a bit for service. Also, the food on the buffet was a little on the chilly side. That being said, the over all experience was good and I would recommend the restaurant.
My last visit to this location. I will continue to crave Copeland food but will wait until I can go to the good ones. Not my first visit to this location but it was my last. 1 in my party of 5 said the food was good 2 said OK 2 said last visit. Did no good to complain. I expect this Copeland to be closed when the lease is up. This is the third one to be closing that I at one time really enjoyed.
Please get your Brand back and restore the great South Louisiama taste that I'd expected from your name.
Well I booked a reservation for Mother's Day for 9am. My wife wanted to go to the Sunday brunch which is suppose to be amazing and I'm sure it is IF YOU GET TO HAVE IT! How ever we did not we got there for our reservation the lady says brunch doesn't start until 1030. My heart dropped because I mean it was Mother's Day. She then tells me without me asking that there is another reservation at my table at 10am. I hope she said it in an attempt to make sure I just didn't sit at my table and wait for brunch to start not that I would I mean we had a 2 yr old with us. My wife was upset that she told us about the next reservation like we had to rush to get eat. On to the menu... the breakfast menu is simply a continental breakfast with meat. The server we had did an awesome job I take nothing away from him.
Took my Mother and other Moms here for Mother's day it was so dissapointing. Ordered Prime Rib for my Mother but the server brought out top sirloin instead, she said it's ok I'll eat this but it was to tough to cut and Server noticed as she was cutting that it was not prepared correctly. One of the dishes we ordered was made incorrect so we were offered something else. Server was GREAT and very apologetic but it wasn't his fault. For the Money we spent and the drive it was totally DISSAPOINTING and nor worth it. Mothers day dinner is supposed to be almost perfect; but hey its ok I made it up to all 3 of them.
