Copelands of New Orleans
The food was/is always good. Service is lousy, has always been lousy. You have waiters standing around talking about who is going to wait on what table (and yes, I'm watching them talk and point about this), meanwhile, customer is still waiting for a waiter, lol. Our waiter seemed like he was new, seemed to understand what I was ordering, because his comment was was that is one of our signature dishes, but what comes out from the kitchen is completely different than what I ordered; so i had to wait for them to cook up my dish. Waiter didn't really apologize or accommodate us either. It would have been nice for him to either discount, a free dessert, something, but no. And another thing that somewhat bothered me - when putting my leftovers in a to go container, and mind you I'm still eating since my dinner showed up late, the waiter takes my fork, yes, it was my extra fork, to put appetizer leftovers into the container. Really, what if I had needed that fork???
Service was terrible.
The waitress was rude.
The food was amazing, the drinks were delicious, and the dessert was awesome! Katie was an awesome waitress and I’d give her 6 stars if I could.
We love Copeland's...this time it was for dinner on New Year's Eve. It was great because they were serving their regular menu at regular prices. Most restaurants offer a special, shorter, more expensive menu and the food (for whatever reason) is usually not as good. Not the case with Copelands, the food was really great and it was a festive atmosphere. This is not where you go to skimp on calories - but the portions are large and easily shareable. We had reservations at 7:30 and were not seated until close to 8, but this is not typical of Copeland's; guessing it was because of the holiday. They have an excellent, large bar that you can choose to eat at, with plenty of TV's for sports, etc. It's a very comfortable, homey restaurant so you can feel at ease casual or dressed up. We'll be back soon!
Great experience with high top tables in the bar area. The wait staff was excellent considering it was New Year’s Eve
New Years Eve dinner- excellent as always!
Basically the food was awful. I'm from New Orleans and thus was nothing like I expected. We will not be going back until the change the menu and hire a proper Louisiana chef.
Their food is not bad at all. The price it's fine. We came on Christmas eve and it seems they weren't ready for the busier traffic. The waiter was nice but they really need to have better management in place as we were waiting for one hour until our main course showed up. We also ordered appetizers and they showed up around 30 mins since we ordered it. They have a very good dessert for the homemade cheesecake and brownie. They gave us complimentary desserts as to say sorry of what have been happening. We will try it one more time but that would be all if they slow again we will never try it anymore.
Made a reservation for 4 Christmas Eve. Got there a bit late (I called ahead and they were accommodating) and got seated promptly. Food was good with ample servings for the Seafood Platter. Crying children running around and climbing on the empty booths was not the most enjoyable atmosphere; fault of the moron parents and not the restaurant. All-in-all, a good meal. Although we did not sit there, the bar was awesome with the lighted bar top! Have to go back someday and take that in.
Poor service impacted the experience. Unpleasant waitress was inatentative to us and was not familiar with the menu. Brought wrong food for one person at our table and acted like we were crazy when we brought it to her attention. Another waitress mercifully corrected the order for us.
Great staff, wonderful food, nice ambiance.
It was my birthday so I thought I would get a complimentary dessert, but I didn't. Other than that, it was great.
Date Night with the Wife! Had an AWESOME time!
The location is awesome. It’s clean. Service was decent even though there were only two tables of people and it took two hours to eat. But our server was very friendly. Food unfortunately just isn’t that great. Sadly Overall was not as expected. Again location, interior, people working there were very nice. The food was just not as good as expected.
Service was slow. Wait staff not engaged. Offensive odor from wait staff clothing.
Not the servers fault, family emergency then passed to two other servers between whom appeared to be a manager. Electricity blinked and credit card machine went down and would boot back up. They said I could wait or go to ATM and get cash to pay my check.
Had a great time at the restaurant everyone was so nice and friendly I will be back
The Jazzy wings are a must have! The staff is nice I normally go for lunch.
Mark was our server and did a great job of being available but not bothersome. He was gracious about our teasing and nicely went to the kitchen to answer some silly questions for us. The food was excellent.
Nice atmosphere, prompt service, good food selection.
We were celebrating my birthday. I made the reservation for 5:45. We came a little early and they were able to sit us. I asked for a table and not a booth and that was not a problem. Jessica was our waiter and she was amazing. She made some great suggestions to us on food items and we were happy with the choice. The only let down was just as I was about to order bread pudding she came to the table to tell us that she was just informed, "they were out". Other than that slight disappointment.....we were well pleased. I plan on returning soon.
Copelands had excellent service. Good selection of alcoholic beverages. Prices for appetizers and certain drinks during happy hour were fair. Food was served warm. Wide variety of seafood choices. Portions were generous.
The brunch here used to be amazing. Yesterday the food was all cold and much less of a selection. It’s certainly not worth $30 a person.
We were seated by a very gracious person. Our waiter Evan was attentive and offered great recommendations about wines and menu items, that turned out to be right on the mark. Manager checked our table to unsure our meal was going well. It was awesome. I highly recommend Blackened Redfish and my husband loved the Crawfish Etouffe.
If you like New Orleans type food, Copelands is a great choice. The portions are generous, but not excessive (although I had leftovers the next day!) and the prices are extremely reasonable. Every bit as good as Pappadeaux with better prices! The crab stuffed bengiets were delicious! Service was excellent and the manager made several stops at our table to make sure we were satisfied. We will definitely return for seconds!
The first waiter we had was not good. However when we requested a different waiter, the second one was GREAT!!!! The food was not good at all! Not representative of other Copeland’s that I have visited in other states.
Amazing food! The service was fantastic and even the manager was extremely nice and made great recommendations.
The hot crab cakes were great! Got done biscuits for the sauce after class were gone! Wow!
Had creole style cheesecake with caramel pecan sauce for dinner and it was perfect!
Not impressed at all. The dining experience took 1.5hrs. Not because the food took a long time, because the service was so slow and not attentive at all, poor guy had a lot he was dealing with that night.
The food was ok, our biggest issue was how salty everything was. I ordered the large filet and ended up adding the crab claw sauce and crab meat to it, that made it really good. The filet by itself was just ok.
Blackened Chicken, Jambalaya and chowder soup was good. Would even eat the Salad it was so bad. And the red velvet cheesecake was not good at all.
The food was very good with a great variety to meet the various palates. The bartender was very attentive to our cocktail request and one of the best dirty martinis I have had out. The "Jazzy Wings" were a great recommendation and the New Orleans dishing were very flavorful and reflective of the Latin Quarter. Will be back.
Some Items in buffet were over cooked and very dry.
Pans were sizzling with food cooked to bottom.
Lack of vegetables on the buffet, no greens except salad.
Service from Erica was great!!
Best part of the experience
Great place for New Orleans’ seafood style! Thanks for a great experience.
The place is very relaxing, elegant and nicely decorated. Fantastic food. Absolutely delicious. The service is splendid and the prices are very reasonable. Strongly recommend.
The restaurant was fairly empty but the waitstaff was not very attentive. They would disappear for a while. We got our entrees, but didn't get the side until much later. The sides came out wit the dessert. They compted dessert to make up for it. Otherwise the food was good.
The food is always flavorful and delicious! The crab cakes are simply amazing. Portions are definitely worth the money. The wait staff are always attentive. I LOVE Copelands.
Our meal for 4 was pretty good, but we expected it to be much more refined.
Our waiter was ok, but not overly polished or helpful.
Meal was appropriately priced, but the meals didn't always 100% reflect the menu description.
The Shrimp boil wasn't as bountiful as I'd expected.
Food was horrible! Bloody Mary was worse, the only upside was the server Brodie, he was a nice guy and attentive server . Copeland’s used to be a great brunch place, i don’t know what Happened, but it was barely edible. So disappointed.
Food was great. Service was great with very good recommendations.
Kinda over price for bland food.. I had the catfish stuff with crab and the crab was warm to keep the catfish like warm... I will not go back..
Salty, salty, salty. Our entrees were inedible! Very disappointed. I would not recommend this restaurant.
We had s great time & it was wonderful!! The food was delicious
& priced fine for a white table restaurant.
