Copacabana Brazilian Steakhouse - Eglinton (Midtown) Ratings and Reviews
Wow ..that was bad. Poor service from the start. Hostess drinking Starbucks when we entered, won't put it down waited a few minutes. Then walked to our tables. Our seats on the chairs worn badly, napkins under tables to address the wobbles. Waitress made a whole 3 visits.
The meat was good, seem to the be the same old meat rotating. Mash potatoes are from powder i am sure. Listen to the same song over and over. The waitresses are young people who clearly need to be schooled in proper dining services.
You always bring drinks on a tray, not by hand, you serve food on trays not by hand, don't be so snobby to your clients. I felt like i was at a fast food joint, excepting i forking out 50 dollars a head. Anyhow finally got the bill, it was tossed on the table again no tray and handed to my 15 old son. I forked out 250 dollars, and left while leaving not as much as a glance from the hostess. This place needs to go to the KEG and see how to serve your customers.
Finally i recommend the Rodeo on the Danforth for a true Brazilian experience not this joke.
I will not be going back ever.
I was not too pleased with my experience. We had made a reservation for 10 people for 9:30 3 weeks prior. When we got there exactly at 9:30, the hostess told us our table would be ready "soon." We waited 30 minutes before I asked again when it would be ready to which she responded with another "soon". 5 more minutes passed before we finally got seated. When we did, we were seated at the back where all entertainment was blocked by the wall that came out beside our table, so we didn't get to see any dancing.
The food was good, but for the price my party of 9 and me should not have had to wait 35 minutes for a table after making a reservation.
For a restaurant that many call up scale, the service is atrocious. Not only was my reservation messed up but it took them 40 minutes to seat me and my date. For this inconvenience, the hostess "claimed" we would get a large discount. At the end of the night, we found out that we would not be getting said discount and were offered a measly 10% off for our wait. I wasn't overboard upset until the manager came over and threw the hostess under the bus, blaming her for our bad night and not taking responsibility herself. No apology, no standing by her employees. Very bad experience, would rather have gone to the keg.
Party of 6 came for birthday celebration. Experienced awful service! We got the worst seating in the restaurant right on the entrance, behind the dancers/singer, so we were facing dancer’s budds! It was also really cold, as people were going back and forth. No waiting area at all, so people are standing just behind your back waiting until you leave, so that they can get your spot. Food was good, no complaints.
Would never come back!
our waitress, Taylor, was superb. she was professional, kind, smart and friendly. However, in general, the restaurant set up was implying that we shall finish and leave as soon as possible which is not so pleasant when you get-together with friends. The live music was too load for that space.
We have been before, and like it a lot, we also went to other locations (Adelaide), but prefer this one for its style. Service was smart they accommodated us well as we have a small child, but then the offers became repetitive and not something we would like. Then, altogether they kind of stopped coming around, where we could have used a bit more service.
We were late for our reservation and it could have been a timing issue, but not bad overall.
The food and service were great. Ample amount of meat if you're a carnivore and a great selection of salads and other options at the buffet counters. Grilled pineapple and deep fried bananas were great options to finish the night. The garlic prime rib and bacon-wrapped beef were my favourites of the night. Definitely recommend this to anyone that loves meat, meat, and more meat. we
Had a reservation at 7:30 on Thursday, arrived at 7:50 due to traffic (an hour drive) and the hostess told us that because we're late they gave the table away and we have to wait like everyone else for approximately half an hour. Half an hour later when we went in, we received 2 or 3 different meats and were waiting for along time to get more. When the server came along to ask us if we've received everything we wanted, we told him we didn't and that we only received 2 or 3 items. He kept trying to convince us that he himself came and gave us more lots more items, which didn't happen. It's an open buffet type of place... why are we arguing about whether or not I received an item? If you, as a server, think we got more than we said we did, just get us more where's the harm? We ended up getting everything we wanted but not before feeling like we're fighting to get in, get food and service. Horrible experience overall! I've been there several times and this is the first time this happened
Mediocre food quality. Meat taste destructed with addition of cheese. Assuming meat to be the signature food the quality is not very good. Salads are ok. Bread is fresh and very good. Wine card very restricted. Ideal for people who like all you can eat North American style with not too high expectations on the taste. Service is ok very friendly.
The meats were delicious and the carvers were very friendly. The server couldn't care less to be there and the mixed drinks were obviously watered down. The "buffet" was sad and it was also obvious that the food had been sitting there for awhile even though dinner service had just started; I assume it was leftovers from their lunch service. The "hot" food was cold and not edible.
Love the service, seated quickly. Chairs and decor slightly rundown but the food and service made up for it! The comfort foods in buffet could have more variance in textures (mashed potatoes, mashed sweet potatoes, lasagna, mac and cheese). And Caesar salad could have been a bit fresher tastier. Service was off the charts !
Table was not ready at our reservation time. We were a group of 10 people, with 5 people sitting against a wall, it was difficult for servers to serve food for people sitting against the wall. We were seated at the back of restaurant could not see the live band or dancers. We requested salmon and pineapple at the very beginning of our meal, we had to request it several times before it was finally delivered near the end of our meal.
This is our sixth time in this Copacabana location. We have a tradition to celebrate birthdays: my friend and me. Last time we were served by Charlie, who was exceptional in his service and very professional. This time we unmistakably recognized him again , the service this guy provides is beyond five stars, he makes you feel truly valued and special. I was sure to inform the restaurant manager about this and I sure hope it will positively affect him financially. We will continue our tradition and will be happy to get this top notch service again. Thank you!
Aside from the food the experience was absolutely horrible. The service especially worse than poor. I’m not sure if there’s new management, but I’ve been to this location many times and I’ve never had such a horrendous experience. Not only did we get sat 30 minutes late, but we rushed out of our seats at around 8:00pm. I understand that there might possibly a time limit to seating considering how busy the place is; however, management and front house staff should be aware of how long the customer has been seated there. We didn’t get the full experience we would like. Very, very disappointed. Will not return.
PS service would be zero but I had to put one. Not one.
Our first time there in 5 years and it hasn’t changed. The choices of meat are to die for. They come around often too! The salad bar has great choices from breads to salads. Their creamy pasta salad was perfectly rich, not too salty. The service was great and family friendly.
I have been wanting to come here for a year and finally got to get some time with my husband to come for dinner on his birthday.
I tried calling several times before because the website says free parking but did not give instructions for how to get free parking. No one answers the phone and it was a Wednesday everning.
I ended up paying for parking because the parking is a private lot, not one that belongs to the restaurant and it wasn't until we got to the restaurant that there is a book sitting there for you to write your license plate number on so you don't get ticketed for not paying. They also refused to reimburse me for parking.
The restaurant is very hard to move around. There are no real isles you just movr between people's tables.
The salad bar was next to an empty kitchen and poorly organized. There is no dessert bar.
The servers never asked to fill our water, and when we asked them for a refill of our softdrinks they poured it in the same cup without Ice. The least I expect for a restaurant with a minimum of $50/person fare is they give you a new clean cup.
Only one of the servers was savy about the types of meats they were serving in detail so we could know what we were eating.
They did bring my husband a dessert on the house in the end. It was a few berries, some very very sweet (toothe achey) mango custard and a mini chocolate ball and a mini coconut ball.
We were beyond disappointed.
