Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Wheeling
Our party of 4 enjoyed our dinner at Cooper's Hawk. The house Cabernet was excellent and everything from the appetizers to dessert was enjoyed. Quite a variety of appetizers - Brussel's sprouts, lettuce wraps, salad, calamari - as well as steak and a lovely asparagus risotto from the gluten free menu. It was a little on the noisy side, but we could make ourselves heard around the table. We will be back again!
New management and inflexibility with those with food allergies.
We have dined at Cooper’s Hawk in the past (it’s in our restaurant rotation). Friday night gave us reason to not go back. When we were seated, the seats were FULL of crumbs, so we cleaned them ourselves before sitting. Hostess acted like it was our responsibility. Then our server, Mark, well he acted like he didn’t want to serve us. We noticed the other servers giving recommendations, just being more engaging with their customers. Mark seemed to not care, didn’t explain what the new items were on the menu, didn’t recommend anything, didn’t tell us the wine of the month. It will definitely be a while until we go back. Was not the dining experience we have had in the past.
Food and service were great, noise level no so great.
Dana's Parmesan crusted chicken is amazing!
Excellent food and service as always.
Mother’s Day. Restaurant was overcrowded and it took over an hour for our food to be delivered after ordered
We had a delicious mother’s day dinner at Cooper’s Hawk - the food and service during the meal were perfect. The only reason it’s not a 5 star review was the service at the wine bar area. I’m part of the wine club and have been coming to Cooper’s Hawk for many years. I had a few bottles to pick up and was totally ignored by the staff behind the counter for several minutes before being given a sheet to fill out for my choices, and then waited again for more than 10 mins while she focused on other customers - taking new customers during that time even though she knew I was waiting. It was just terrible customer service and not reflective of what I would expect from CH.
It was a busy Mother’s Day but the server was friendly and fairly attentive. The manager was extremely attentive even though very busy.
Great place to eat and meet with friends. I highly recommend Coopers Hawk to anyone that wants good food and a great value.
It was Mother’s Day. The restaurant was full. Reservation time was honored. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Food and service would be considered good for anytime but especially good for a holiday. We never felt rushed which can happen when dining out on a holiday. Highly recommend Cooper’s Hawk!
The service, food presentation, and food quality are much better at the Arlington Heights location.
Everything was great as always. The service was just a little slower than normal but still had a great experience.
Service was a little slow at times. Otherwise has a good time
Nancy in the tasting room is phenomenal! Even though it was extremely busy, she was attentive and friendly.
Dinner service wasn't that great, but overall food was good minus a few things such as the food not being overly hot. Our waitress wasn't overly attentive and disappeared a few times for quite a long time.
Delicious food. Great service!
Mother’s Day. Was great as always!
Professional and attentive staff - good parking - menu never disappoints
Coopers Hawk is a great place for groups. There is something on the menu for everyone and the restaurant offers consistently good service.
We visited with family Saturday about 1pm. We tried the steak, salmon and Parmesan crusted chicken. Everything was delicious. Three of my sons tried the skirt steak and lived it with the grilled veggies. Pinot Grigio wine was very good too. A little noisy but overall great dining experience.
Great food excellent wines outstanding services
Birthdays for two friends.
Great service staff had great recommendations for wine and food pairings.
Outstanding food, service and the wine is amazing. The appetizers are delicious and a must have are the Brussel sprouts. The only thing I would love to see them add to the ambiance would be to add some music.
very loud. good food, although my short rib risotto was salty. I get it all the time and this time was salty. overall a good dinner. good service!
Food was really good but noise level made conversation difficult to say the least!
Our server, Maryan was especially helpful. The calamari appetizer was excellent and so was the flatbread.
I wish, though, they would just add an uncorking fee when you bring in a wine you’ve already paid for through the wine club. Instead they add the price of the wine and then subtract it. It makes the bill very confusing.
Cooper’s Hawk is one of my favorite places to take someone for their birthday, or just a fun night out! We usually start with a wine tasting (amazing!) then head to dinner. My favorite meal is the crispy fish sandwich, but everything I’ve tried there has been full of flavor! I highly recommend!
There were 12 of us gathering after a successful event for a late lunch. Our round table with the Lazy Susan in the center was off in the corner which made conversations as well as sharing food and wine much easier. In the corner, the noise level was less intrusive as well. The service was excellent, plus we enjoyed the food!
We had a party of 12 that was confirmed a few people at last minute could not make it we were down to 9. They told us they would have 2 separate tables.... that’s where it went south. Long story short the manager would not budge to give us a table in a room that was not being used, because he said we would not get good service , but finally put 2 tables together in main room (after a long discussion of what a reservation meant) and gave us a free pitcher of sangria and 2 appetizers on the house. The food was very good and the service was nice . We made reservations, and was called to confirm by staff of restaurant...they did not honor them , saying a reservation is not a promise there will be a table for you. The food is good.
just be careful of when you make a reservation for a large group that you speak to manager concerning it.
The food was very good and the service was very good. The noise level was way too high so that you couldn't talk to your tablemates without raising your voice to compete with the noise level. Conversation during a meal, especially a special occasion, is very important to me so the noise level especially detracted from the experience. Maybe they could look into retrofitting some acoustic tiling or something to help with that.
Slow service but food was great.
Very energetic atmosphere with a terrific food selection that will match just about everybody’s taste!
Our server was Becki and she made the experience even better with her knowledge and recommendations of the wines and food.
Was perfect!!! Neal, wine and company!
I can’t say enough about this place. From the wine club and tastings to the restaurant with a nice mix of comfort type food as well as an endless supply of new things to try. Always a good time at Cooper’s Hawk.
Friday night date with PATTI.
love coopers hawk! Best wine around! Brussles are the best :)
Our server (Ted?) was fantastic! Great new menu options that were delicious and wine was superb as usual.
