Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Wheeling
Our Waitress Marie took very good care of us. She was very attentive to us and we really appreciated it.
Excellent food and great service. I especially recommend the Prime sandwich. The thinly sliced prime rib is delicious and complemented nicely by a tasty bun. It literally melts in your mouth!
As usual..staf is great and wine and food couldn't be better.
Under the table where I was seated the floor needed to be cleaned. Which surprise me. Also I mention to the hostess that we were there to celebrate a birthday, she told me that she would take care of it. Yet they never acknowledge my husband birthday as they did others people at another table. When my food arrived at my table it was cold and the gravy had begone to congeal. What saved this experience was that the food was very tasty and the portions size great.
Great wine and food; great place for date night. The wine is fresh and cold.
Love the shrimp soup and Napa chicken salad. Always good
Good food, nice ambiance.
Hostess and host a bit flustered when we arrived and checked in with them, but booth was nice. We were walked down to our booth a minute or two early, staff was still wiping table and seats, too wet to sit on...
Waitress was friendly and wrote down our order (and verbally confirmed with us). But did not verify with Chef our request to either delete cilantro from our food order or confirm that no cilantro was used in the shrimp dish. And though we ordered a bruschetta, that never arrived... all in all not the smoothest service. Food that came was good!
Great food and great wine. Appetizers are to die for
We love Cooper's Hawk and dine there for special occasions and for not so special occasions! Great food and service!
Dinner was wonderful. We really liked some of the new menu items. the place was as expected and the food and service were great.
Couldn't believe how crowded it was at 4:45, even though it was a Saturday. It did take a bit long for our waitress to make her first visit to our table. Not sure if it was really her fault because it was so-o-o busy. Perhaps more staff is needed. Also, when seated our table was very wet, even the menus were wet when we tried to read them. When we asked for it to be wiped, the gentleman went for two bar napkins to do a mediocre job of drying the table.
We had a great experience at Cooper's Hawk. Great wine and delicious food was enjoyed by all at our table.
Pam our server was prompt and attentive to our requests and she even brought us a few chocolates from the bakery as a complimentary desert. Very nice. We will be going there again for sure!
Cooper’s Hawk makes a ton of money and they have extremely busy locations. Unfortunately they have become profit over customer oriented. I ordered a $30 skirt steak and received the child sized version. The plate was filled with fries and some vegetables. Sadly the steak was incredibly small. Service was good and the wine is always good. Cooper’s needs to take better care of their customers as there are a lot of choices for customers to choose from.
Our party of 4 enjoyed our dinner at Cooper's Hawk. The house Cabernet was excellent and everything from the appetizers to dessert was enjoyed. Quite a variety of appetizers - Brussel's sprouts, lettuce wraps, salad, calamari - as well as steak and a lovely asparagus risotto from the gluten free menu. It was a little on the noisy side, but we could make ourselves heard around the table. We will be back again!
New management and inflexibility with those with food allergies.
We have dined at Cooper’s Hawk in the past (it’s in our restaurant rotation). Friday night gave us reason to not go back. When we were seated, the seats were FULL of crumbs, so we cleaned them ourselves before sitting. Hostess acted like it was our responsibility. Then our server, Mark, well he acted like he didn’t want to serve us. We noticed the other servers giving recommendations, just being more engaging with their customers. Mark seemed to not care, didn’t explain what the new items were on the menu, didn’t recommend anything, didn’t tell us the wine of the month. It will definitely be a while until we go back. Was not the dining experience we have had in the past.
We did a 30 minute wine tasting before dinner. It was too crowded for the 6 of us, limited seating. We kept getting bumped and being bumped. The chips to eat between tastings were wheat and after several asks and walk aways “to check”they admitted they didn’t have any gluten free options. Bummer. We were supposed to get a truffle as part of the tasting, but it wasn’t offered. I had to ask after dinner and they ultimately let me select a free one on the way out. The bartender really didn’t do much about explaining the wine we were tasting. They gave us a sheet of paper with the 8 wines briefly described and basically said “read this”. I wouldn’t bother with the wine tasting if your group is bigger than 2 people.
We moved to dinner, which was good. They did have a gluten free menu and half way into dinner brought me some warm gluten free bread. It does not appear that the 2 sides talk to each other at all.
Food and service were great, noise level no so great.
Dana's Parmesan crusted chicken is amazing!
Excellent food and service as always.
Mother’s Day. Restaurant was overcrowded and it took over an hour for our food to be delivered after ordered
We had a delicious mother’s day dinner at Cooper’s Hawk - the food and service during the meal were perfect. The only reason it’s not a 5 star review was the service at the wine bar area. I’m part of the wine club and have been coming to Cooper’s Hawk for many years. I had a few bottles to pick up and was totally ignored by the staff behind the counter for several minutes before being given a sheet to fill out for my choices, and then waited again for more than 10 mins while she focused on other customers - taking new customers during that time even though she knew I was waiting. It was just terrible customer service and not reflective of what I would expect from CH.
It was a busy Mother’s Day but the server was friendly and fairly attentive. The manager was extremely attentive even though very busy.
Great place to eat and meet with friends. I highly recommend Coopers Hawk to anyone that wants good food and a great value.
It was Mother’s Day. The restaurant was full. Reservation time was honored. We were seated immediately upon arrival. Food and service would be considered good for anytime but especially good for a holiday. We never felt rushed which can happen when dining out on a holiday. Highly recommend Cooper’s Hawk!
The service, food presentation, and food quality are much better at the Arlington Heights location.
Everything was great as always. The service was just a little slower than normal but still had a great experience.
Service was a little slow at times. Otherwise has a good time
Nancy in the tasting room is phenomenal! Even though it was extremely busy, she was attentive and friendly.
Dinner service wasn't that great, but overall food was good minus a few things such as the food not being overly hot. Our waitress wasn't overly attentive and disappeared a few times for quite a long time.
Delicious food. Great service!
Mother’s Day. Was great as always!
Professional and attentive staff - good parking - menu never disappoints
Coopers Hawk is a great place for groups. There is something on the menu for everyone and the restaurant offers consistently good service.
We visited with family Saturday about 1pm. We tried the steak, salmon and Parmesan crusted chicken. Everything was delicious. Three of my sons tried the skirt steak and lived it with the grilled veggies. Pinot Grigio wine was very good too. A little noisy but overall great dining experience.
Great food excellent wines outstanding services
Birthdays for two friends.
Great service staff had great recommendations for wine and food pairings.
Outstanding food, service and the wine is amazing. The appetizers are delicious and a must have are the Brussel sprouts. The only thing I would love to see them add to the ambiance would be to add some music.
