Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Waterford Lakes Ratings and Reviews
Excellent lettuce wraps and key lime pie! Service was not especially attentive but average, what you expect if you aren't ordering drinks and everyone at other tables is. Short ribs were very dried out, overall disappointing dish but the parmesan chicken was exceptional!
Great as usual, but for being almost empty on a Sunday night, the service was a little slow (got seated at 7:40 and didn't leave till 10pm and it wasn't due to taking long to order or anything). Still, it's one of my fav places in he town center to get a meal and some fab wine :)
Cooper’s Hawk has steadily declined in service and quality over the last year. We waited over 45 minutes after our reservation time and they tried to put us in a loud booth in the bar. The manager was put out when requested to be moved but he did find us a spot in the main dining room. The service was slow but I don’t fault the waiter as he was obviously overwhelmed with the number of tables he had. The food was okay, but I honestly would’ve had a better dining experience at a chain steakhouse. Cooper’s Hawk needs to figure how to get back it’s standards.
Cooper's Hawk is my favorite restaurant in Orlando! I usually get the Seared Ahi Tuna and it is amazing. My wife gets the Chicken Marsala and it is phenomenal as well.
Everyone is really nice and the atmosphere is great. It's a bit pricey, but worth in for special occasions.
We were very frustrated with the hostess - we were throwing a surprise birthday dinner for a friend and some of the party arrived there on time for the reservation but the hostess proceeded seating other parties in front so that non of our party was able to sit when it said that the table was about ready. Awe were not able to pull off our plans that I had planned and left a soecial note for on the reservation.
Overall a good experience and we would return.
We ordered the Grouper coated in Pistachio as we always like to order Grouper when on the menu. Although it was flaky and flavorful, the skin was rubbery and the coating was mushy, so it was a disappointment. We've had better and probably wouldn't order it again, but everything else we ordered was very tasty and well prepared. Very good service and prices were about right, but very loud so not the best choice if you're looking for a quiet dinner experience.
Gosh I wish I could remember our waitress's name, she was terrific and everyone was attentive, friendly and genuinely interested in making sure we had a great meal. My mother, brother and I had Thanksgiving at Cooper's Hawk since my Mom had hurt her foot several days before. I enjoyed that we could order off the menu as well as have the traditional Turkey Dinner, so everyone was able to get what was wanted. The wine was fantastic and also the desserts with coffee. Oh I found my receipt: it says the waitress's name was Nico B 40107, she was really wonderful. Anyway, I've also had lunch at this restaurant and had a nice experience too. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone that enjoys wine and great food...it's fun.
Cooper's Hawk is always great. We are wine club members and it's a very good value. This time we came in for their Thanksgiving feast. The turkey, dressing, and fixings were wonderful. The pork belly tostadas are a must every time. As always you get an awesome meal for a reasonable price.
We have come to Coopers Hawk several times and sat in the bar for wine and appetizers and enjoyed it. 11/19 was the first time we sat at a regular table/booth and it was awful. The server was slow, inattentive and seemed truly just disinterested overall. She had zero personality and was not welcoming nor engaging. I ordered the seafood bisque soup and it was inedible so when the server returned (a good 15 + minutes after delivering it) I told her that I could not eat it. She took it away but at no point asked if I would like to order something else - this was as my dining companion was sitting eating their ahi tuna taco entrée (which, for the record, she said was very tasty). I was more disappointed in the sub par service than even in the distasteful soup because for the cost at Coopers Hawk and the reputation it generally has this was very disappointing and will definitely influence my decision making when next choosing my location for a night out in the Waterford area.
My wife and I had guests coming in from out of town; and, wanted to take them to a "nice" place. After seeing several posts on a Facebook Group page, we decided on Cooper's Hawk. And, wow, am I glad we did.
We arrived about 5 PM on a Sunday; and, the tasting bar was completely packed. We were able to squeeze in when two patrons exited, even with four of us.
Our server was great; and, I tipped him a generously. But he was attentive, gave a nice tasting pour and explained the wines. We all went with the tasting of the month, which featured some nice flavors for fall, including an exceptional Cranberry dessert wine.
After our tasting, we went up to the host stand; and, were seated in a comfortable, large booth. We asked for a taste of the Barrel Select, which all of us enjoyed. To start our meal, we shared the Crispy Brussels Sprouts, which were absolutely delicious... ridiculously delicious!
For mains, it was my turn to have the Gnocchi Carbonara (my wife had it on our last visit); and, she had the Chicken Piccata. Both were simply out of this world. The gnocchi were light and fluffy, with a charred exterior, which is terrific. Our guests each had a large Chop Salad and split an order of the Gnocchi Carbonara.
Drinks included a Negroni for me (which was excellent); and, a glass of the Pinot Gris for my wife (also excellent.) Adriana made sure we got everything we ordered and were enjoying our meals. Noone had room for dessert - next time!
You need to have more staff for wine tasting and make more room, like the international location. It’s has been an ongoing problem where it is packed no matter what time I come in. So service needs to improve along with a accommodations.
My server Benny for dinner was phenomenal! Great service and knowledge on the menu. By far, the best server I’ve had since the place opened.
