Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - South Barrington
Awesome place, awesome service, fantastic food. Met some friends and did the wine tasting and then had dinner . We had a great time and will definitely be back.
We like this Cooper’s Hawk. And we have been to five. The serving staff is consistently efficient, helpful, and able to read if you are in a hurry. We are wine club members, didn’t care too much for this month’s wine, and we were able to substitute a wine we liked more and would fit our home menu this week. I liked this month’s chef’s recommendation, but my wife felt like chicken. Good variety of food and wine to fit any mood.
Good place to meet with a group.
We will continue to go there. It is a lot easier than going to a neighborhood place in downtown Chicago!
Great food and great service as usual!
Great food and nice place to celebrate with loved ones.
Very enjoyable Father's day lunch - thanks - wine selection and presentation was very nice - great pork chop
Always great food and wine!
For our first visit to the restaurant we had a great time. We will definently be back. We had a wonderful Fathers day brunch.
The tasting room was crowded but it was a Saturday evening. Staff at tasting was friendly and helpful. Our reservation was on time. Food was very good. Meal order was mishandled ( lost). Was told it was coming for 45 minutes. Two tables by us turned over while we waited. Steak was over cooked. Staff made it right. Manager brought replacement steak said he would be back to make sure it was cooked properly. No one came to check
Wife had chef's special, fillet medallions with wild mushroom and black truffle ravioli. Excellent! I had the braised short ribs over risotto, also very good.
The food and service was fantastic. Little louder than I would prefer, but overall, a wonderful experience.
The brussel sprouts on the appetizer menu were AMAZING! I also ordered the grouper and loved it.
Excellent food and wine! We are wine club members and it is so worth it.
Food was fantastic. Our server was Johnny on the spot. Never had to ask for refills on our drinks. Only had soda. Never saw an empty glass.
Amazing wait staff and management. Food wise the appetizers (pork belly and the fried shrimp) was some of the best I've had! Unfortunately we had a drunken party table behind us dropping F bombs and the C word left and right. And that wasn't the the fault of the restaurant. They actually apologized for the Ambiance being ruined and discounted my Merlot. I will be back again And soon!
We dine at Coopers Hawk
Love the food at Coopers Hawk; the gnocchi with braised spare ribs is excellent!
I would have given them 5 stars but the noise level was so loud, you couldn't hear across the table.
We were there with 2 other couples we hadn’t seen in a while; unfortunately it was so loud you could only have a conversation with the person immediately to your left or right. This is not the place to go if you’re hoping to catch up with friends.
We have eaten here several times as it is on our rotation.
I had the parmesan shrimp scampi for the first time and it was good... but just good. Great flavor but only 5 shrimp over a lot of angel hair so I don’t feel the value was there for the price paid. The shrimp also had very little parmesan coating. My husband had the fish and chips which was very good.
Service was good.
I left my wallet there and they called me later that night.
We’re wine members, and frequent this location, and usually have excellent service. The server we had did a great job, was very accommodating, and knowledgeable. The food is always well-prepared and delicious. The main dining room is noisy, and I wish they had tablecloths.
Our lunch was on the patio. Quiet but too windy. Otherwise a favorite for al fresco dining. My salad was excellent & the pretzel bread great. My friend has many food allergies but ordered a flat bread and the chef changed the flatbread to fit her needs. She was also happy with her flatbread. Our waitress was very pleasant.
Everything was great at dinner. We were seated 22 minutes after our reservation.
We went at lunch on a Tuesday, and it seems to take a longer time than usual. Good thing we had a good conversation going.
Had a Chicken Caesar Salad. Hardly any dressing, so it tasted like bare lettuce with some chicken. Tasteless, while the price was high.
Loud and crowded, yet good food. Great for a big meal and big family. Prices a bit much for what you get, which is a lot of food.
Cooper’s Hawk was an excellent choice to celebrate our 30th Anniversary!! Outstanding service, delicious food, wonderful wine, pleasant atmosphere and my husband and I were treated to a complimentary champagne toast before dinner!! We really enjoyed ourselves and will definitely return!!
One of my favorite places to go for lunch to reconnect with a cherished friend. Food is always EXCELLENT!! The Open Table reservation system is wonderful. It is really an asset for making plans that often are months in advance.
Ashley our server was Excellent!
Good food as usual!
I've been to this restaurant many times, but this last visit failed to meet our expectations. When I made the reservation I indicated that I wanted a 'quiet corner' and that we were two couples both of which were celebrating anniversaries. We did not get a quiet corner and I was surprised the restaurant didn't offer up a cupcake with a candle on it for our anniversaries. When the four of us left, we decided another restaurant might be better for our next anniversary.
Food was delicious and nicely presented! Waiter, Sean, was a gem - genuine, upbeat, great smile and prompt, efficient service! This was my first time to visit this location - I would definitely return! I was already a fan of Cooper’s Hawk but, this location gets a thumbs up!
we had reservations and still had to wait 25 minutes
Food was great service was even better!! Juliette was an awesome waitress
Always a wonderful time on the patio. Our server Arielle was delightful!
Outstanding dining on the patio! Service was great and food and wine outstanding!!!
Our table was ready when checking in and after waiting less than 5 minutes for my friend to arrive I was told there was a wait because they seated two parties of 4. Fortunately the wait was short.
If you know your party (that has a reservation) has arrived, it would be appropriate and expected that you hold their table or notify them if otherwise
