Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Orland Park Ratings and Reviews
Usually we would say 5 stars in all categories! We are wine club members and there every month. The only hiccup today was that the hostess didn’t check us back in after our wine tasting - despite the fact that we DID check in - she told us we’d be seated shortly, and we found out 45min later that she never checked us back in. Good thing we went back to ask, or else we might still be standing there waiting! Otherwise, we love the place. We have regular bartenders and favorite dishes, we will definitely be back next month!
Second time here. No parking available, you are forced to use valet. Had to wait for entire party to arrive in order to get seated, however there is not enough room to even get a glass of wine while waiting - and people were stacked everywhere! Once we got seated, the noise level was very loud, so not a good atmosphere for conversation. We will never go back.
Arrived at 6:45 p.m for a reservation at 7:15 p.m. Didn't get seated til 8:10 p.m. Was with a group of friends, one had a shirt with her back out. At 9, please keep in mind we've been in the restaurant for 2 hours, the GM Nicole Scalator(spelled incorrectly) comes to the table and tells her to cover up. She completely throws off the mood with rude tone. She says there is a dress code but I've never seen one posted. So I'm guessing it's mangers picking and choosing what's appropriate. There were people wearing baseball caps, gym shoes, and jeans. Must not be that strict of a dress code. If there is such strict enforcement then all those folks needed should cover up. Her outfit was very tasteful and didn't go against the environment.
On another note, our server Howard was amazing. He saved the night for us. I appreciate him. He was great server and very understanding when we had plenty of questions about the menu. He had a great attitude throughout the night.
We frequent this restaurant often. We arrived on time and were seated right away. There were others nearby who did not have a reservation and the wait time was an hour and twenty minutes. The area where we were sitting, the first booth from the kitchen, had a weird smell lingering. It smelled like an old mop bucket of dirty water. Not what you’d expect from a place like this. Our waiter was great, very personable. We ordered an appetizer that never came and the bar service was slow. The food was good. It always seems like there are kinks that haven’t been worked out. This place has been open for far too long for it to still have some of the issues that it has. I enjoy the food and wine so it’ll take a bit more before I’m deterred from coming back, I just wish the ambience/service matched what we pay for when dining here.
We were a party of four two days after Valentine's Day. Promptly seated, promptly served drinks and appetizer. Our server, Anthony, was charming and personable. He knew the menu very well and answered our questions accurately. Our food was delicious, flavorful, and fresh.
The manager stopped by to chat on a busy Saturday evening which I thought was a nice touch.
The weekend before Valentine's Day is not a good time to eat here. The restaurant had way too many tables for the staff and kitchen to accommodate. After ordering drinks, it took 15 minutes for the server to come back with only 1 of 2 drinks. The appetizers came out staggered, and while the management came over to apologize & compensate the apps, it never improved. There was a hair in the guacamole of the drunken shrimp, huge delays in food being served and very little attention to filling the drinks on the table. The food (minus the hairy appetizer) ended up being delicious but the overall service did not even come close to the matching the price point.
Terrible service, terrible food, the meal was so bad they took it off our bill when they saw it was hardly eaten. Lighting of restaurant was harsh and had too much glare. Really disappointed in Coppers Hawk, expected much more. Will never go back. Sad thing it was our daughter and son in laws 25 th Anniversary. The poor experience at Coppers Hawk ruined the occasion.
Made a reservation for 8:15 and was told that there were three people still ahead of us when we arrived at 8:12. Six tables called ahead of us and it took finding a manager to be seated. Waitress brought the bottle of wine right away but we had to wait for another ten minutes for bread, then for our food to come to get water. Service has gone faaaaar downhill from when I initially began going to CH in 2015. Not worth it, cancelled the wine club and won’t be going back.
We "celebrated" my birthday at this restaurant. I made a reservation at 6:30 for a party of two. We were almost 10 minutes early for our reservation time but we were not seated until 7:00 p.m. What is the point of making a reservation? We sat in the waiting area for 40 minutes. How is this ever ok when you have a reservation?
The staff was inattentive and overwhelmed. Our server was apprehensive. It was odd. The food was mediocre. The egg rolls were slimy, not crispy. The bacon wrapped shrimp had absolutely no flavor. The steak was ok but the mashed potatoes were cold and hard. Even the dessert was messed up - our chocolate cake was delivered to our table with melted vanilla ice cream. It had been sitting a while before it was delivered to us.
The ambiance was terrible. The lighting was the worst and the tables were way too close together. A woman at an adjoining table was literally touching me as I dined. I had to keep moving my seat over and over to get away from her. I could feel her hair against my skin because she was so close. It was disgusting. I will never go back to this restaurant.
All in all the experience was OK unfortunately the food was not as tasty as other Cooper wineries that I’ve been to the service was not bad we appreciated to be seated earlier than our fall party arrived but we did have to go looking for the server to get some water couple times
Had a reservation and waited 40 minutes for a table. When I asked for an approximate time period of what the wait would be, nobody would answer but just said we're looking for a table. They take more reservations than they can handle. The food and wine were good though.
