Cooper's Hawk Winery & Restaurant - Orland Park Ratings and Reviews
We are regular customers of Cooper's Hawk and just showed up for our 7:15 reservation for our nephew's birthday. We were told there were 10 reservations ahead of us and they had no clue how long the wait would be. What exactly is the point of a reservation? This was a huge inconvenience seeing as we have 6 people in our party and are now scrambling to find a different place to dine. I understand you can't exactly tell people currently dining to leave, but a simple call by the restaurant to let us know our reservation was severely delayed would have been appreciated.
Waited thirty mins for our reservations. Ordered filet medallions medium well- came out medium rare. 25 minutes later when the rest of our party was finished eating, they came out medium rare once again. Asparagus wasn’t even cooked. We looked forward to this occasion all week, and ended up leaving hungry and disappointed.
Won’t be back on a weekend for dinner. Took 1 hour, 10 min to finally get wine. Then after waitress just simply opened the bottle quickly & poured3 glasses & left...we realized she brought the wrong type of wine! Waited some more. The whole night was like that. Took forever to get our food, to get the check, etc. when my girlfriend’s meal finally came (braised short ribs), it was cold. We sent it back & they remade the whole thing...which meant we were all done eating by the time the new entree came. It was hot tho & very good she said. I’ll only go to this restaurant for lunch from now on...if at all.
Took my daughter there for her birthday. They have an excellent choice on the kid's menu that include smaller portions from items on the adult menu! Not just your typical kid's menu with hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken nuggets. The manager even stopped by our table to introduce himself and asked if we were there for a special occasion and we told him it was my daughter's birthday so he sent her home with a couple of chocolate covered strawberries! Amazing service and great food!
My wife ands I brought Herr 90yo mother and friend as well for a social test. My mother in law was craving a chocolate martini which she had on a previous visit. She was not disappointed. The food and service were both impeccable.
The cappuccino left a but to be desired, but all in all an excellent experience.
Not happy w my server on this day. This is the second time that I have had her, and not happy with her at all. Next time, I will request to have someone else. The food was good and made correctly this time. Cranberry sangria and Lemon ice cheesecake were amazing. First time trying both of them. I did not get my points on my account. This has happened both times that she has been our waitress also. Not happy. For as many times as I go to CH, I still have many bad experiences. For the price we pay, we should get better services, correctly cooked meals, and better servers.
Sadly our anniversary dinner was tainted by some ignorant guests seated behind us. I️ realize it is not within control how others behave, but I️ wish staff had put a stop to it prior to it escalating to police involvement. I’ve always been very pleased with Coopers Hawk, although this was not a pleasant experience on a special occasion.
Went in on a Sunday night with 8 coworkers for a meal. Hostess said we couldn't be seated for another hour and a half. I looked on open table and there was a reservation open that we could book for 15 minutes from that time. I thought that was super weird but I booked it anyways because we were starving. I went back up to let the hostess know we had a reservation. While we are waiting for our table I overhear the hostess talking about our group because "we put a reservation in online after she had told us no so there's was nothing she could do" saying this to another staff member. We are finally seated and there are SEVERAL open tables. Extremely embarrassing for their staff to try and turn away what had to be over a $400 bill. Waitress was amazing her name was Alex.
We started with a wine tasting and Kyle in the tasting room was very knowledgeable about the wine and accommodating to us switching things up from the monthly selection. I didn't get our servers name but she was quick on taking our order and explaining the specials and wine pairing for the month which my wife had and was very good. We come to Cooper's Hawk often and always enjoy the food and wine as well as the staff. I would recommend the Orland Park location as I think it still is the best.
We were seated in the wine room. I think it's a neat idea, but it was very dark. This made it difficult to read the menu. Our food when presented was warm. My husband said his broccoli was cold and the grouper wasn't very warm either. The next day I was talking to another person in our party and she said her food was warm, as was mine. I'm hoping this was just an off day because we have been here before and it was thoroughly enjoyable.
We are frequent diners and Wine Club members and always have a great experience. Little noisy this time with two large groups near our table, but still fun. Drew and Dustin were excellent as always at the bar, and our server, Laura, was fantastic. Can't wait to go back!
For having a large party, our overall experience was great. We were seated promptly downstairs. Our server Fontane gave us all his attention and made our night. Food took a little longer, but came to our table hot and tasted great. We look forward to coming back and having him as our server again.
Prices haven't gotten cheaper, however portion sizes have gotten smaller. Waitress was great and apologetic, manager on duty when addressed with concern about portion sizes of steaks (a dish we get frequently) as well as the fact that we asked for heat to be turned up (many patrons wearing their jackets through their meals), acted as if he was being bothered when we talked to him. Very disappointing.
As always, the food at CH is always outstanding. Our waiter was two weeks on the job, but did a very good job. Usually service at any of the CH locations to which I have gone has been good and the food is consistently excellent. Also had awesome wine tasting staff member (as a wine club member, always a plus). My only real issue was with the ladies' room and I will be contacting the restaurant directly to discuss that issue (I expect it will be taken care of - hope so anyway).
It was our 39 th Annirversary . Food was great.
Service was just okay. Had to ask for soda or bread. Water never refilled or asked if we needed more. Had to ask someone else for soda and bread. Never asked how our food was. Good thing that part was very good and no complaints there. Had reservations for booth. Got table in back room. My major complaint sitting back there. Back door was used as an exit by patrons which made the room cold. Weather is starting to get cold now. The door should be used for emergency. It was uncomfortable. I hate being cold. The waitress was nice but must be new. So my experience was lukewarm:/
I took my mother to Cooper's Hawk in Orland Park for her birthday. We had a reservation and they seated us pretty quickly. The wine tasting room was packed and the restaurant was very crowded for 5PM on a Saturday. My mom enjoyed her meal of a hamburger and fries but I have a lot of food intolerances and was very disappointed in my gluten free vegetarian meal. I ordered the vegetarian meal because the calorie content was not listed on the menu for other selections I might have ordered. I was looking forward to having fish. The healthy meal section had calorie counts but nothing else did. The ancient grains and fire roasted vegetables was very disappointing. The meal was supposed to have multi-colored carrots, cauliflower and broccoli plus a quinoa salad and pita bread. I specifically asked the waitress if the pita bread was gluten free and she said it was. I had never had a gf pita before and was excited to try it. Imagine my disappointment when there was no pita on the plate. It's not easy to eat hummus with no bread. The plate had one stalk of broccoli, a huge mound of quinoa that no one could finish and a very small amount of carrots on a large amount of hummus. The veggies that were there were good, as was the hummus. The quinoa was also good but was a plate filler for the veggies that weren't there. I am a fan of Cooper's Hawk but I will go to another location the next time I want to eat there.
